    Would have been easier had you bought the TST Industries wire connectors. Pin to Yamaha connector, no cutting/soldering needed. Plug and play. Looks good though.

    I just installed these same turn signals on my 2017 FZ-09. This video was extremely helpful! Thanks for uploading this!

    Thanks for your tutorial and links to TST. I bought the relay and also the Yamaha to bullet connectors for my bike. And actually don't have to take the tank off for the right side of the front signal.

    @stagarmsusa4879 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    For anyone who doesn’t wanna take the tank off like me to clip the connector....Black is negative, green is positive, blue is running lights. I left blue off to the side and taped the end.

    I'm so glad Yamaha put in LED turn signals for my 2nd gen Super Tenere. So freakin' glad...

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's crazy to me how companies will leave them off some and not others - or mix and match types of bulbs on the same bike. Come on!

    • @SoDakTwisties
      @SoDakTwisties 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean, I get that DOT can really kill beautiful design features...but something like these lollypops are such a huge oversight with the LEDs available on other models. You just have to call it what it is...LAZY. Shame Yamaha...shame...

    I guess just cutting the wire at the front turn signals and sliding the tubing cover over a soldered wire would work as well?

    For the right front signal you dont need to move the tank just push the plastic back and you can reach in just did tst signals on mine
    Tst signals also come with harness adapters so it's just plug and play highly recommended

    I'm sorry but I cannot seem to find these on my own from Canada or EU or anywhere. (I'm in California) Can you possibly post a link and P/N to the front and rear signals and the relay you bought? I do want the front running lights so I guess that's the PLUS. 2020 MT09. Any direction is greatly appreciated. I really enjoy your videos.

    Thanks for all of the great videos, I have an FJ09 here in Canada and luckily many of the parts etc are universal for these bikes. Very keen on the Yamaha LED signals - I saw that you referenced the size of the unit compared to the orange pumpkins - can't seem to find a dimension online - any chance that you could post the actual measurement of the entire piece of the unit that sticks out from the mount? I installed a tail tidy and now realize that with set saddle bags things will be in the way! Thanks in advance. Keep up the posting.

    This can be done so much easier than you explained. What you did to the rear blinkers can be done exactly the same in the front. So connect the wires right near the light it selves..

    It seems only in the US do you get those horrible stock orange blinkers. Here in Oz the stock ones are actually quite nice smaller and sporty. I'm still going to upgrade though so thanks for the informative video.

    • @TwoWheelObsession

      They are the same size. North America uses clear bulbs and colored lenses. The rest of the world uses colored bulbs and clear lenses. If you think those are small and sporty wait till you get the leds ;)

    I have these blinkers installed, but i don't have the smart relay. Currently i have the problem that my fuse for the blinkers keeps blowing. I put in a new fuse, blink left and the result is both left indicators burning, but not blinking. As soon as i blink right the fuse blows.
    Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong, they used to work fine. Relay broken?
    Bike parked inside and never seen rain, only 2000 miles on it...
    Thanks for any feedback.

  • @KrazyKramer
    @KrazyKramer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just installed these today. They are great. I'm not sure what happened but thought maybe you might have an idea. I cut all the wires 2 to 3 inches from the old signals. Simple reinstalled the back LEDs black to Black ground and (forgot the color now), but pos to pos. The front pretty much the same except I left the blue one of the 3 wires alone ( not connected to anything).
    Something went wrong somewhere because the taillight, brake light and front led parking lights aren't working now. The fuse is good. The LED signals work, flash and hazards work.
    Any thoughts before I start over ? Thanks dude.

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My only guess off the top of my head is you have a wire crossed

    • @KrazyKramer

      Not sure how. I'll have to deal with it tomorrow. Thanks

    • @KrazyKramer
      @KrazyKramer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this isn't a tech forum lol sorry. I'm guessing none of the wires which need to be cut to put these signals on have anything to do with the taillight, brake light, and front led running lights under the headlights would they?

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. There must be more to the story, something unplugged you missed or cut, something overlooked. Break out the multimeter and go through the system - battery, switch, lights. It's not hard.

      I have and they are much better on the ES with the additional cornering lights. Otherwise it's just a different shade of white, the regulars are excellent. No you can not swap, thousands of dollars of parts would need to pull over.

    I have an MT09SP and my stock blinkers are similar to yours but have clear instead of orange plastic. I’m not that unhappy with them. My only concern is that the rear blinkers interfere with putting on soft saddle bags as they stick out too much. Do you know of any solution for that? Maybe shorter rubber spacers or removing them altogether?
