    Finally I understand not only how to use multiple photos in the photomatch mode, but also how to scale a texture to fit a certain face. Thank you for sharing

    This helped a lot as I always found photo match in sketchup tricky. I have a question, Do you know of any way of rendering with Vray and have the matched photo in the background? Rendering seems to remove the matched photo.

    If you are building a bus or a train car, how do you go about building the drivers control panel and seats?

    Thanks, Justin. This was really helpful. But I am still struggling with this. I also realize that if I can get the hang of this method of modelling it would save me a tremendous amount of time and I'll be able to be much more productive. I use photoshop to make panorama views of houses and then bring it into Sketchup to model it. But I can't seem to get the axis-aligned. Can you do some more videos on this, please? A few more - not so easy - examples.

      I'm sure I'll do more match photo stuff in the future, but I'm going to follow the same process in every one of them...

    Do you know if there's any plugin to make photo match easier?

    Hi there!
    Thanks for the great video. I wander why you didn't mention PHOTO POINT TOOL and GRID stuff. Is any way to utilize it?
    Regards.

      Lol - I'm not going to lie - I didn't mention those because I've never really used them before - totally fair question! I'm going to have to do some research to figure out how they work. Best as I can tell, the grid option seems to just affect the visibility of the grids that are shown along the axes. Maybe I'm wrong, but they don't seem to affect the overall usage that much. The photo point tool is talked about a bit more on this page - help.sketchup.com/de/article/3000075 - Thanks!

    Hello justin,
    I have a big problem! when I project textures from photo to the model, it looks all okay in sketchup, but in Enscape and Lumion, the material get distorted. Do you have any solution for this?! I really need help!

    is this tool of matchphoto designed only for Geometric shapes with angles, is it suitable for modeling shapes with curves and wrinkles?

    Would you not recommend continue with matching other features, doors, windows etc to complete a barn with 4 walls & a roof rather than a solid block?

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what you're trying to achieve. If it's a quick context model, no. If you need more detail, sure

  • @Deontjie
    @Deontjie 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you must rather adjust the size of your photograph, after all, your own model is there for you visually scale every new item.

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you talking about manually resizing the textures on each face to make them fit better? That would probably work, though it might get a bit time consuming - thanks!

    So, I am new to Sketchup and I can't figure out how to transfer or view my work on my laptop that i designed on my home pc. I have already downloaded Trimble on my cell phone and I am able to view my work on it. I thought that my work was saved on a server and should have access to it from two devices. If someone is familiar with this issue, can you please help walk me through this issue

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't really understand the issue you're having. Generally I'd just save the work on an external hard drive and transfer to your new computer
