- There are long-term toxicity tests that have been conducted that show liver problems, birth defects, immune disorders, etc.

You can provide the risk assessment documents and peer review reports on the safety of these crops. Secondly are you aware that after the first yield, the second year planting results in very significantly lesser yield. So you have to go back to them to get fresh seeds resulting in your dependence on them. You can pick a pack and try it yourself.
We’d be continuously dependent on foreigners for our food
Mostly the seedlings
Mr. You're not telling the truth about food in the USA. Please don't deceive Nigerian citizens in making Bill Gates richer.
Most of the countries with Food security are EU countries, and they DO NOT have these MGNs.
No to GM crop.
Place an organic maize beside a GMO maize and you'll see that animals would go for the organic maize showing that animals themselves know better.
Renal and liver impairments have also been shown in animals that are fed with GMO crops.
@@F-tranquil do you have evidence for your claim? Ignorant.
Our lands are good for farming. This G.M.O. will destroy our lands.
Bt corn, tomatoe destroys land for years... Ulcers, colon cancers on rise,infertility,...eat organic. Do you trust oyibo scientists to feed you and give you meficine
Then why would we want something like that in our bodies and soils???
We only have increased yields to gain, and everything else to lose.
Our soils would be destroyed by the seeds
@@Therealclips-ib8bm do you have evidence to support that claims?
@@onyiimale Guys, you see here. This is a propagandist. I’ve noticed 2 guys moving around Nigeria’s online politics space, trying to convince Nigerians to eat NGMs.
Bro, ask Brazil about its effects on their soil. And ask EU why they don’t allow the cultivation of it in EU. Also, there are many reports on this, from Nigerian health experts saying it’s unwise to consume.
@@onyiimale I used “unwise”, because Y.T would probably not take what I’d rather use.
Proofs are everywhere.why will china and other countries reject them. Its number one cause of cancer in the world
So they’re also going to push the products on the country, even if we don’t want it. They had even started pushing it before we accepted it.
I hope you heard him say you are already eating GMO beans since 3 years.
@@factsandgrin that is my point. Foreign companies should not be pushing such products on people. I should be able to pick and choose. But when it’s everywhere with zero regulations, I have a problem with that.
@@Therealclips-ib8bm which foreign company, do you know about Tela maize at all?
There are regulations that GMO must be labelled, this is easy for supermarket package foods
@@factsandgrin there are too many people that don’t know about this. My point remains. People must be given the right to choose if they want lab food or not.
You can believe whatever you want to believe. But this products can’t be sold to EU member countries. There are European biolabs in Nigeria provided to tests and reject all lab food exports to EU countries.
And you can’t sell it to most of the world, unless you plan to export it illegally.
@@Therealclips-ib8bm if you listen well enough, Nigerian foods were rejected in EU cos Pesticide residue, it's not even a GMO food.
That's the problem, Pesticide residue is present in GMO and non-GMO crop.
Nigerian yams were rejected in EU and US 6 years ago, is it because it's GMO?
GMO is consumed in EU and everywhere else, if you have problem with GMO, that's your choice.
Don't make it about EU rejection, they reject Nigerian foods that's not GMO like beans, yam, snails etc, maybe you should stop eating all those foods too.
I don't believe, I stick with verifiable facts always
NIGERIANS SHOULD REJECT GMO CROPS
There would be much more infections flowing around
The infections will also create a cash cow for Big Pharma. They'll never mention that.
This here is the difference between the young, intelligent, and old politician that's after his pocket. Ask him if he can solely depend on that GMO.?
He couldn't even present any backed up statement with evidence. None whatsoever.
They think this generation is like theirs who trust blindly and sometimes stupidly without reasoning.
They should have an open session for call-in so people ask question. He won't be able to answer beyond the story of "increased yields"
Listen to the insane example he gave about Sugar? These guys are simply pathetic.
We won’t be able to export these NGM products to the EU
Somebody once said this in 2015, we thought he was drunk. He said the reason farmers are targeted is because they want natural seeds out, then food insecurity plaques the country,so they can introduce GMOs into Nigeria once, this happens.
Well, in the face of food insecurity, GMOs may be an option to explore
I worry about the Scientists that are defending GMOs.
This is how wheat was genetically modified to create more yields and today a lot of people react negatively when the eat wheat and its products.
This lady's argument is based on faulty logic (association fallacy)
1. If import of GM foods is unregulated, then its local production will be unregulated.
2. Because GM foods are resistant to herbicides, farmers will use herbicides carelessly leading to higher residues.
3. Some GM foods have been shown to be harmful, thus, GM foods are all harmful.
4. Audit report was not made public, thus report was not done.
5. Because we imported the first set of seeds, all other sets will be imported.
Sometimes, one can be eloquent and sound intelligent, but they're really just gaslighting, either on purpose or because they have been schooled to recite ideologies.
If you check it, her organization is likely sponsored by a foreign grant with anti-GM agenda. (This is a wild guess and may or may not be true)
That being said, the solution to food insecurity in Nigeria is multi faceted, GM foods provide us with another option worth exploring and should not be discarded because of half baked idealogues and their contrived objections.
Our scientists need to step up and do their part so that all wrong notions will be discarded
Anyone thay is kicking against GMOs shows that the person lacks knowledge backed by science. Joy, where is your proof that GMOs are harmful to the body? You arr more focused on pesticides which has nothing to do with GMOs.
Shout up ur mouth, this product is bad n it concerns u n ur children ..this is not Election
You are the one DT lacks knowledge here...go and do Ur research ..nature does not want GMOs interacting with our human genome ..
Your lack of knowledge, do you want to be Catholic than Pope?. G.M.O is not good simple. Do you manufacture the seed by ourselves? If you like G.M.O, that is the question you should be asking.
Don't you know you will depend on the countries or the companies which produced them.
It is a pity black people can't think at all.
@@Ade-uw2jbvery good point. Africans don’t think
@Ade-uw2jb did you listen to the man that states that the seed would be engineered here in Nigeria? You are just overshadowed by ignorance. And even if we depend on other countries for the seeds, does that make it it harmful to the body? Do you have any evidence to show that GMOs are harmful to the body?.
what about make the claimed ungovern space of land in to real farm and secure the lives of the farmer , follow follow idea need to stopped
They Europe he is referring to is based on Africans' historical ignorance. The slave trade was abolished not because of its inhuman approach but because it was no longer as profitable due to high cost and risk.
Its replacement was ensuring Agriculture became a higher profitability which was structured to ensure Africans farm on a large scale for exports and less for their consumption. Then they classified it as a cash crop.
The so-called internally developed seeds didn't inform the people of the capitalist agreements signed to enable GMO flourish within pseudo-institutions. The sugar he referred to is a major killer in the world however a corrupt FDA diplomatically declassified it as good for human consuptions.
He says controlled. Does he understand the term "controlled" within the context of research and science? Totally ignorant statements.
In the Nigerian markets, it's generally not labelled. In Kenya they have far better institutions and their systems enable labelling compared with Nigeria.
We don't trust the institutions in Nigeria not even the government select. GMOs are not the same as 25 years ago. Did he just acknowledge illegal importation and that he wants Nigerians to trust the institutions?
He has simply established the truth GMO cannot be trusted. Period!!!
