Rest In Peace Sensei. Other than being one of the greatest martial artists and aikidoka, you were a human inspiration to many of us! We will surely miss you and hold you in our thoughts and practice. Deepest condolences to the family, friends, and Sensei's students, as well as to Yamada Sensei.
Very good! I think if you can understand these steps, you can make the same, but it's like Donovan Sensei said... you need begin slow and next, it pratice step-by-step to achieve a good control on the ukemi.
Awesome, this is the first I've seen this fall broken down like this. Often I've seen the big break falls but never really understood the mechanics of it. Great video!
Thank you very much for this detailed explanation! It helps a lot! Sometimes it remember me a little bit on movements in Capoeira :) Dan, a Aikidoka from Dresden, Germany
Excellent demo video, both from technical and narration perspectives. This is the first video of yours I've watched, and based on this one, I look forward to viewing others you've produced.
Absolutely awesome! Everything I saw in this video earned my respect for Waite Sensei. Thank you for teaching and for sharing! *definite subscription + favorite* Arigatou gozaimasu!
Beautiful progression. For me doing this the hardest part is the fear of attempting a back bridge, especially having various issues with flexibility so the variations that build up to the more advanced version are extremely helpful.
Great! I was just trying this Ukemi few days back, but it's a little difficult. I'll try from the "easy" first! Thank you for the video! Congratulations!
Waite Shihan said that depends on your supple abilities, and I would argue that taking practice in forms one and form two in particular would add or enhance supple abilities to your Aikido...and related Budo etc
Really good! I practise in a dojo where this type of ukemi is called "suberi ukemi" (my teacher is a student of Suganuma Sensei). Very difficult ukemi to do the advanced version at speed. I like how Waite Sensei broke it down. I tend to do the "easiest" version:-)!
My sensei is doing this very well. I really can't grasp the movement of the body. I am very stretched and nimble but very heavy and tall, it's still hard to do it. Thanks to this instructional video I am getting better at it.
@The0Keyboard0Kid I think it's one of those indigo dye ones. Very cool looking but they do show wear. Still, no matter this guy is great and those are some VERY useful falls.
That is a spectacularly beautiful demonstration.

I am very saddened by this. Condolences to all family, friends and students. RIP Sensei 🙏
What a great teacher...wildly impressed !
great Ukemi .
Beautiful Dojo !
The art of smooth. Practice, practice, practice and legacy ❤
Thank you so much
Yeah Donovan is amazing at ukemi. So swift, fast, quiet and on the point. Now i want even more ukemi training !!
This is a great tutorial on a really unusual ukemi. Domo arigato gozaimashita, sensei!
Waite-sensei opens the door to an entirely new level of practice - he makes ukemi practically an art in itself
Really nice. He's simplified the form and shows a very nice sequence on a very important part in any aikido study.
Very good. Please provide more.
thankyou very much. been looking for the detail instruction on how to do it safely. now i know how to do it and will practice. :-)
Very good!

Awesome techniques for the Aikido student at various levels of training.
It's unbelievable how analytical he is and how much attention to detail he is giving. That makes me wonder why 6 people don't like it...
Very thanks....to the sensei D. Waite...
Beautyful video
Super sick! I've been wondering how to do this without doing a big baseball slide that ends in a back flop. Practice begins tonight!
Awesome, this is the first I've seen this fall broken down like this. Often I've seen the big break falls but never really understood the mechanics of it. Great video!
Amazing. I have both volumes of this Ukemi video. I love it.

Sort your Hakama out. Don't you dare come on the mat looking scruffy.
