Why not work with KGD LABELS, they are excellent producers, just open in the Philippines, LOLA AMOUR at GKD studio, it will be awesome guys, Thanks and God bless
Josh/Lucas -- 🎺💡 I don't live in the PH. Lola Amour's "Pwede Ba" was my gateway song into PH music. Now, I LOVE all sorts of PH music. Thanks to your reactions, I'm discovering more and more music, like P-Pop. Wishing you all the success in the PH.
A lot of popular opm songs are slow and sentimental. It actually says something about our culture and the filipino collective preferences. Opm songs cater to the filipino listeners. We are romantic and cheesy, and these aren't exactly the type of music a lot of western people listen to. Raining in Manila is funky, but it is a very relatable and sentimental song. Also, live music is a big thing in the Philippines. We enjoy songs that we can sing along to while the artists are performing.
You Guys in Manila already ❣️❣️ nice to know enjoy staying and get ready for a rainy day season start Sept. to Christmas 😂😂 but get ready for the longest Christamas celebration here in the Philippines start September to December 🎆💥 thank you very much for your support to our talented artist you guys so AMAZING💞 enjoy while staying and please stay safe GOOD LUCK ❣️ hunting for the best artist❤
Typhoon season is here and Raining in Manila has been the National anthem every time it rains. What great timing for Lola Amour to go viral. Btw, I've watched them perform onstage several times and they do have great showmanship and interaction with the audience. I hope you get to feature them in a video. Lola Amour, Cup of Joe and Any Name's Okay are the rising darlings of the PH indie band scene and they often play together in gigs. Highly recommended to check them and their music videos out.
The story of this song is that his friends have left the Philippines to pursue and find better life abroad. The song isn't about just rain but about missing them. Thats the reason why he says "Its been raining in manila kahit di kana babalik" Meaning " Its been raining in manila even tho you arent coming back." There is always a story for a song, and this story was sad but the execution was perfect. We hope we get to see this International across the globe. Thank you for listening to our OPM meaning Old Philippine Songs.
This actually is a combination of different influences, the lead singer got the inspiration from "spark" (japanese song). This kind of genre was big in Japan in the 80s but Philippines had their own called "manila sound" in the 70s. I'm a fan of this genre and it exists even in the mid 2000s in the Philippines from the songs of Kala and Radioactive Sago.
Addendum: Lola Amour is a Filipino rock band from Muntinlupa, Philippines that dabbles in the genres of modern rock, funk, and pop. The band consists of Pio Dumayas on lead vocals and guitar, Martin Kim on background vocals and keyboards, Raymond King on background vocals and bass, Zoe Gonzales on lead guitar, Angelo Mesina on trumpets, Joxx Perez on saxophone, and Renzo Santos on drums. They also introduced three sessionists into the band as regular performers: Jeff Abueg on saxophone, Raffy Perez on drums, and Manu Dumayas on trumpet. Formation (2013-2016) Lola Amour was formed in Muntinlupa ( Suburb of Manila) from two rival bands, "Sinigang Na Baboy" and "Decaf", comprising students at De La Salle Santiago Zobel School. While the two bands always competed against each other in the annual school battle of the bands, they were friends as members of student music clubs such as the DLSZ Symphonic Orchestra and DLSZ Jammers. The two bands decided to merge and perform at their senior-year graduation ball. When the group moved on to college, they officially adopted the name "Lola Amour", after the grandmother of vocalist Pio Dumaya American-Filipino here on the West Coast of the USA.😊😊
It's their original songs, they always do and went viral, Good vibes. Hoping this Band will be in your studio in the future. Good luck to your journey in the Philippines, LOLA AMOR AND DILAW are rocking the World now, Thanks and God bless
Your comments regarding the current music and trend in the OPM is so spot on. It just goes to show how much you are into the Filipino music right now. I hope original songs from bands like this will eventually become international! So happy guys like you discovered and appreciated our music. I am praying for your success here!
It's raining in Manila! Literally! It's been raining hard for about 3 weeks now. Well, you are probably experiencing it now. Take it as a blessing, a welcoming shower.😊
A forecast of light showers in Manila is actually a storm in San Diego. It’s currently 8/15 now but started early morning of 8/14 around 3am as I was awakened by thunder and lightning. Love the accompanying light, cool breeze!
🎺💡What I love about Lucas and Josh is whenever Lucas is talking and he can't name the person/thing he is referring to/talking about, there's Josh who can back him up and name it for him. Love the genuine friendship they have. Cheers to more reaction videos and successful career here in the Philippines. ❤❤❤
OMG you've already settled your studio?? That was soooo fast!!!! Welcome to the Philippines! And hope you enjoy the new environment and people and food of course! Keep on discovering new talents! Thank you sooo much! More power to both of you!! ❤️🇵🇭
I hope you get the time to listen to the band Up Dharma Down. Nobody sounded like them back in the mid 2000s. I don’t really know if anybody already thought of recommending this band, but I’m just gonna out it out here for others to see and maybe get more people to request their songs.😅
You are already in philippines???Good luck guys.. hoping for a successful life/business in our country.. ❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰love you guys.. keep safe .. raining is blessing ..
I'm Filipino and just listened to this song , just today, I know shame on me :-) but I was so busy with work and everything, but my 12 year old son kept humming this in the car (while I was still listening to 80s music on car radio), glad I gave this song time. And I can say this so reminiscent of 70s music, these kids are so talented.
Raining in Manila is actually their original song. Dope right?! 😍 Glad you liked it. You guys in Manila already?!? Take care always you guys and excited for what's coming next. 😊🙏
Very happy you guys covered Lola Amour while visiting Manila. Take it as a sign and book them! These guys ended up being my go to lullaby winding down after work. Between Lola Amour and Ben&Ben and IV of Spades breaking through the ‘birit’ and ‘hugot’ type of music so rampant here, the music scene has never sounded so good. By the way, you might want to try and check out Imago while you’re at it. Yours are the only reaction videos I watch. Thank you for the breakdown and appreciation all the time. 🌺
🎺💡So excited for you guys to get here. Fun thing is you'll be witnessing the start of the Christmas festivities(September 1) here.😂 You'll be hearing Christmas songs playing as early as September. Hahahaha!
There are a lot of very popular original opm songs in the Philippines, especially from bands and singer songwriters. The most popular now are indie / alternative, indie folk, and hiphop.
Wow you really transferred here in PH? That's dedication. Welcome to the PH guys i hope you enjoy the food, culture and pls explore our islands there's a lot of beautiful beaches ik tho your not a travel chanel hehe. Mabuhay gidkiddad! 🇵🇭🙏🏼❤️
🎺💡Lola Amour posted a lyric breakdown on their channel bec so many people who didn’t speak filipino wanted to get a translation & wanted to understand the song. You guys could check it out! They also posted about how the original demo of this was fully in english but they all thought that the lyrics sounded better in filipino.
🎺 💡 wow! great to see you guys back! i hope your move here is going as smoothly as possible. can't wait for the projects you'll put out here! welcome to the philippines!
This song got viral when there was a typhoon and it always rained for more than a month. So people can relate to the song. So it became a hit song and until now, it keeps on playing even it's not raining anymore. Haha

Hi guys! I wish you could also react to "Tawag ng Tanghalan duets". There are a lot of talented singers in that singing competition. You will discover many artists solely in that show.
Thank you for the appreciation of our local band... Hoping the band can create more music like this Jazz-funky fusion....and about your question if its cover or original? Its " ORIGINAL "😊
I think what you are still missing are the local bands that perform on local bars. Since you're here in PH already, try to visit the top bars (where they have bands) near you on a Friday night. There are many singers/bands that is just as good in any viral video you've watch. Specially the older ones where some of them goes in and out of the country to play overseas just because that is where they earn more.
I can give you tons of list of Filipino artists esp from early 2000s 😅 urbandub, freestyle, cueshe, hale, december avenue, orange and lemons, eraserheads(the beatles of the philippines in 90s lol) southborder, 6 cycle mind, stonefree, Typecast, Nina, MYMP, Mayonnaise, Rivermaya, Itchyworms, Brownman Revival, Jireh Lim, Juan Karlos, Yeng Constantino, Side A, Kyla, Kitchie Nadal, Arnel Pineda, Silent Sanctuary, Magnus Haven, Dilaw, Bandang Lapis (esp the Wish Bus performance), Tanya Markova, Mrld, Imago, Aljames, Dionela, Up Darma Down, Unique Salonga’s single “Sino” Moonstar 88 who originally sang “Torete” there! You talk too much and the stories are not about the video you're reacting but all about yourselves. Kinda irritating.
wow
Let's go Wikipedia... you forgot to drop the link bor
So my ultimate question: WHERE DID THEIR BASSIST COME FROM? HE'S JUST ❤❤❤❤
That's awesome. DLSZ is not far from where i am. I have ridden my bicycle from my place to there many times.

Manila Sound. Popular in the 70s and 80s. Every once in a while some kids with good taste come out with their modern take on it.
The way you said it sounds funny
To me at least
yeah, I remembered Mundo by IV of Spades

Raining in Manila (Lola Amour)
[Intro]
It's been raining in Manila, aren't you cold?
It's been raining in Manila, aren't you cold?
But, if it's raining in Manila, I won't hear you
So, I'll be waiting in Manila even if you don't come back
[Verse 1]
Does it rain for you when it pours here?
Sorry and I don't think so
Your footsteps will follow
In smiling and crying
In flying and falling every day
Just by closing your eyes
Look in the eye
In a dream that will lead astray
[Pre-Chorus]
How are you? Don't even answer
'Hasn't the star lost its shine?
I hope you are still like that
[Chorus]
'Cause, it's been raining in Manila, aren't you cold?
Is it hard to shiver alone?
And it's been raining in Manila, aren't you cold?
'Without the notes?
Is the world dark?
