I decided to buy the set before I found your video. I’ll probably have the same problems. I received the items today and the first thing which seems strange to me is the large id tube to the gun. The powder can only stay in “fluid” phase if the airspeeds in the tube from the hopper to the gun is high enough. If not you will get what the call “slug” flow in multiphase flows. The heavier phase which is the powder is falling out and slipping back down the tube. Just thinking reducing the ID of the feed hose to the gun should improve constant feed. Especially when you say the problem is less with lighter (assuming in weight) powders.
I've been using the hyper smooth 3.0 for about a year and it sprays ok out the box. You can mod the hoppers (Uline 2lb) to add two air fluidizer. Just messed around with a harbor freight tumbler and took it apart to turn into a "shaker platform" for the hoppers and it definitely helps out to get more consistent spray. Heads up though fill hoppers below half if trying this out or you will get to much powder out the gun
I have the same gun same issues.i wonder if taking off the ground from the machine to the hopper would help it because I think it might ground the powder to the hopper possibly
@@McNastyCustomz thank you I am going to check it out now. I really wanted the Eastwood pcs1000 I am glad I seen your video how ever I’ve been lost as to where to go next . I don’t want one of them entry level guns and other then the pcs1000 I coudnt find any in that range . Most Professional guns I see are many thousands of dollars and I don’t want something that crazy yet.
So just let off fever 5 to 10 seconds and regroup and start again. It's a 1000 dollar gun not a 3 to 5000 dollar gun but you could get just as good powder coat with a cheaper gun..
the east wood $100 gun sprays much better at times, nothing to do with price. if you keep letting off and re pulling the trigger it bursts powder and gives a very uneven coat, A lot of parts end up looking like trash this way.
Honestly looks like a cheap piece of junk. I'm a commercial powder coater and use the wagner sprint X I can't see us making a switch to this any time soon 🤣 good review tho 👍

Part 2 with the 2lb hopper compared to the 5lb hopper. Part 3 with the Wagner setup. Let’s goooo McNasty Rulez
I hate mine the gun fills with powder never consistent hose falls out now they don’t even sell the unit lol waists of money
Did you get this problem resolved or is the gun still doing this?
no. im just dealing with the gun as is.
How much psi in the air are you using?
its adjustable with the knob on the front. i have it regulated down in the back at the inlet, i think its 80 or 90 psi
What is a gun under 1k$ you would recommend?
there are a couple of set ups on ebay. kool coat has a $1100 set up that sprays really well.

there's a massive learning curve to that gun ,FUCK that! Pay all that money you should get something that's beginner friendly
