    Honestly i would strongly recommend to anyone thinking about working at amazon, just don't pick a shift over 5 hours and you'll be able to TOLERATE working there, not enjoy or like it mind you, but just tolerate it. You pick a 10 hour shift and you'll leave quickly. That's my advice.

      Yes I realize this after starting to work there on Wednesday this week. 4 hours goes by pretty fast but I regret applying for a 10 hours shift. I also hate going into the deep freezer, I feel like I’m going to die. The tasks itself are very easy to learn and do, but for 10 hours and a 30 min lunch break that feels like only 10 minutes. I realized it’s not for me but I’m grateful for the experience. I now know how it feels to prepare someone’s orders. Bless them all!

    For anyone who is thinking about working at Amazon , it all depends on what shift , which warehouse and which position you get hired on for . Just know that Amazon does not play around . They are very strict about missing shifts and everything . They hire hundreds of people frequently so you are very replaceable . I personally like it , but I only work 5 hour sorts at a time . My opinion would probably change if I had her schedule . My warehouse doesn’t have her area in which she worked in so everyone at mine is always around other people . But I figured I would just touch on that a little bit for some of you who may be considering working there . Again it all depends on which location , which shift , and which position you work . You either love it or you hate it . Hope this helps some of y’all .

    Amazon Workers Employees Need A Union

  • @HerbMangal
    @HerbMangal 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    You have to acclimate to that sort of work environment. After a few months, you will need about 12 to 16 hours to recover on first day off. During work week, it is work, eat, chill for a few hours, then sleep -- no doing chores, errands, visiting people, etc...

  • @AdvantageYT
    @AdvantageYT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    That's nuts! Apparently because there are workers that can do it fast, they are implementing this number of units per hour thing. Maybe a new law should be added that should say there should be no discrimination against workers on the basis of sex, religion, gender.. and speed.

  • @DannyWalker247
    @DannyWalker247 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    Amazon needs general labor. Only people who understand what general labor is and are in need of a steady paycheck will work at Amazon for any period of time. If you are out looking for the perfect job that meets all of your fragile emotional needs Amazon is not for you. And don't go to UPS, FedEx, or the U.S Postal Service. Those jobs are just like Amazon and require you to do general labor and meet certain production standards.

    i'm a driver, and im quitting tomorrow, the pay ain't worth what they are asking for, I'm just gonna do ubereats, I literally make the same if not slightly more in less time I have to work at Amazon and can do it when ever I please, hours for amazon for where I am are not steady and they can literally have you come into work then send you straight back home because they over booked drivers that day managers can give you garbage routes for 2 weeks straight just cause they say you rant't working hard enough, if you want to get the extra $2 you have to be a top preforming drive, for example deliver like 250 packages in 6 hours and still go help someone do their route which is insane, your literally shredding your body going that hard and I repeat IT IS NOT WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN, and it catches up to you fast, and im hearing theres 300-400 package routes for holidays with the same time frame, the warehouse workers looked miserable where I was after being there for a while, once that pandemic pay is over its going back to $15 im hearing, $15 is nothing unless you literally can't get any other job an this is ur very last option, 10 being the max, you have to be on 11 the whole shift just to finish on time

    I've been there a month and was a packer...really enjoyed that job...however they moved me to stow upstairs and I physically hate it and cannot continue going up those little stairs 8 hours a day...its like doing a stairmaster workout and lifting weight 8 hours a day. I was working 1245-915am and the night shift just took a toll. They had us do Mandatory OT so thats 6 days a week...ive had 2 days off in the last 20 days. Now I have the chills. Upset stomach and achiness all over my body. I need the job but im physically unable to do it. Kudos to those who can, but Jeff Bezos doesn't care about you, your body, your health, just as long as he's raking in that dough....

      To be fair , her experience sounded pretty tense . Different warehouses are very different . At mine , everyone is around each other , we don’t have positions where you aren’t around other people like in her case . And only PA’s or Operations work 10-12 hour shifts here . The regular employees only work about 3-5 hour sorts depending on whether we flex up or down . If I was working her position for 12 hours and wasn’t really able to talk to anyone , I don’t think i’d like it either .
