Good Morning. Five above here. Someone left the deep freezer door open. Nice delivery. I remember the operating room clean garage and car. Nice pile in a short amount of time. The elevator saves your shoulders. What a blessing. If Bert and Ernie were at The Woodyard, they would be singing Sunny Days.
The simple cure...... move the the splitter and elevator to that unsplit pile and drop the wood into a trailer or 2......then move the elevator and trailers to the cage.... Save the ground and keeps the wood clean..
Because of one your videos I did the correct thing today. I started selling firewood about three years ago. I made a delivery Saturday of a half truck load. ( oak wood) Got a text this morning saying it was wet he couldn't get it to burn. So I took him another half truck load. Long story short I must have got it out the wrong pile cause the moisture was 24% it was my fault I let him keep the wood I took him Saturday and didn't charge him for today's wood. The good thing about this is he said he's gonna make sure to tell people that I stand behind my wood. Keep up the good videos.
Chris, I’ve had several people reach out to me for information on our gloves after watching your channel. I’m glad you like the gloves and they work well for you!! I’d like catchup with you sometime.
Nice to see the ultra back to work. That single wedge makes nice looking wood. I got me nice saw vise today can’t wait to try it out. Keep up the good work.
Lol, I'm watching #581. It just popped up on my TV. So, Pine Is Fine ! I lived in the mountains in Wyoming for almost 4 years. Long story why I'm back in Michigan (temporarily). But that's all there is in Wyoming or Aspen. Pine burns longer then Aspen and mountain pine is much denser than pine from the east. Trees I cut down that were about 15-16" were 85 years old. And out there we usually can cut standing dead. It still needs to be split and given time to dry even tho we might not get rain for 3 months. The soot in the chimney is just that. Fine dust. No creosote. It's that fine dust flammable, I'm sure it is. But whomever built our chimney built it 4x large then it should have been ! 4X's ! So I put a line in it. Anyway I see you're in Wisconsin. Looks like a great business.
Since it’s deer season in the Midwest can you talk about the mounts you have in your office sometime? I’ve noticed a few really great bucks in there! I’ve watched all of your videos over the years and have seen the season hunting recaps, but never heard the stories of the bucks in the office. 👍🏻
That utility bucket holds a lot of material. I have one for my GEHL 4835 sxt skid loader , fill it with dirt and up comes the back wheels. You have a very doable setup Chris great job. Keep on cutting
I've seen several cases of temporary powerd road signs that are now solar powered, and after about 3ish weeks. they have a small engine chained to them, because there's simply just not enough sun.
I miss the turning leaves and bright sunshine already! When your customer base has high dollar exposed aggregate or epoxy finished garage floors that need a tarp for just firewood like in your delivery. It would be essential to keep the wood clean as possible, even if it means hand loading the bucket and handling it again. I know...more work!💪
I believe it be best to split from pile in to trailer or stack it in bucket of tractor then go dump it. If dump in the dump trailer I know it has to be handle by hand to unload but having good clean wood would be what I would want. Just a idea. Have a great day be safe.
I love having solar chargers for the batteries on my camping, dump, and cargo trailers...whenever needed, those batteries are always charged, no fuss, no muss. It's great technology for that purpose. Beyond that, I'm kinda "meh"...
Yup, in certain uses it is fine but not all for sure, some day the everything battery hysteria will probably settle down or change to a new technology.
Good Morning Chris from Conway New Hampshire. A bit crispy out here this morning. A dusting to about 1” of snow last night. 28f outside right now with a stiff wind 🥶💨🌬️ ❄️❄️❄️🎄
We have had a long beautiful fall in Ohio. It has been a long time since we have had one this nice and long. We are at the end of Nov. and still beautiful in SE Oh.
Hi Chris, looks like a lovely day in WI. I think Andrew should fit a counter on his machines, I would be fascinated to know how many splits your little Eastonmade has done. I can remember it arriving in the Woodyard.
Hey thanks for the video Chris,I'm bout sold out so you were right if it's dry and separate species people will buy it they go nuts,I gotta get a ultra in a couple years
@@InTheWoodyard and I've got to send you those pics when that chainsaw got my leg a few months ago,I haven't forgotten about email them to you, I will remember soon to get my wife to send, thanks Chris
I wonder if the elevator will run on a longer extension cord from power pack? Would be nice to leave it in the truck and not have to load/unload another time each splitting session.👍
What do you do with all the Tote's bladders? I plan to use some for the debris that results from splitting as I have seen you do, but other than having a pile of them in the corner of the yard, have you discovered other uses for them? My only idea is to cut the tops off, fasten them to wooden pallets to make them portable and put something into them, but maybe you came us with a better idea. thanks
You can cut them and lay down under where you set pallets to help from sinking in or freezing to ground. I have some that are under the skids of wood that I will be burning this winter.
@@BertsCustomCuts I don't deal with freezing issues where I live, but still a good suggestion. I had considered collecting burn pile material and after your suggestion I rethought it and I think that's the answer. thanks for making me rethink that.
I use a hole saw and drill a bunch of 2" holes in the bottom of the bladders then cut the top off. I then set them on a wooden crate to be able to move them around. I sometimes fasten them to the skid with pieces of wood and screws. Then I fill them with pine and cedar kindling. The light weight of the kindling is fine for the bladders. Saves from using expensive metal totes for light stuff.
Hey Chris, just had to take my lever that controls loader/bucket functions on my Kioti DK4510. Needed to take plastic cover and rubber boost off. Found two small machine screws, couldn’t believe such small screws were trusted to hold small metal fulcrum in place on such an active piece of tractor. Seems like poor design. If you ever have a maintenance day check out. Hopefully you’ll avoid unwanted breakdown at time you’re using tractor. I was in woods lifting and carrying sawlogs out to my sawmill. Loss control of all loader functions. Looks like you have identical control, just FYI brother.
Part of the reason for the small splits back then was to allow them to dry quicker to sell now. I assume some of the wood now will be sold as spring campfire wood and it will freeze dry over the winter?
Yes some (most) of this wood is already dry and it will have a year to dry so I am leaving some a little bigger, some small stuff will get mixed in too.
@@mjmtreeservicemaintenance2940 OMG I hope not I’m sick over that everything is made in China ! Even my John Deere tractor has a lot of parts that say made in China!
