I really enjoy that the 4 of you found out that Dusty had a relative who was literal nobility in England and the High Sheriff of London but you were more fascinated by what was going on with the people's ties in the picture of his grandfather...Best podcast ever, keep up the good work!
Dusty told the same story on the Alabama episode about his company saying, “who has it better than us” to which everyone but Dusty replied “NOBODY”. Surprised police chief breakfast didn’t catch this repeat story. Love the Pod, and Hey Bear!
I am a Category Manager for a grocery retailer. My job is to meet with people like Greg and decide what items we carry, what price we sell them for and we’re in the Plan-O-Gram we merchandise their items…. I loved this episode. Everything Greg and Dusty were going back and forth over had me in stitches. I have to deal with all these issues all the time and most of the time it’s stressful and draining but hearing their old war stories about life in retail is great medicine while I work😂
I was not looking forward to comment reads with Nate missing, but Aaron didn’t disappoint. Loved seeing Dusty and Greg on their first date. It was adorable and entertaining.
Love me a Greg Warren ep, wouldn’t mind if he was a mainstay. His inability to separate himself as a Pringles salesman; from anything else, might truly be one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.
My 11yr old asked what the episode was about today and I told her it was Sales. Then she asked me if it was s-a-l-e-s or s-a-i-l-s. I love that her question is completely appropriate for this podcast and either option could have been right.

Greg warren is Awesome. Greg selling the pen was the best.😂😂😂 BTW Bic Gelocity is the best pen. I'm left handed and it's the only pen that the ink dries so quick that when my hand goes over the ink it doesn't smear. Plus it flows smooth doesn't drag. I don't work for Bic. I've just tried so many pens.😊
A) Greg Warren has THE BEST laugh I’ve ever heard. I laugh anytime that guy laughs. B) when talking about how to fake laugh with people around you, it made me think, yall should do a “Dear Abby” episode where we can write in our predicaments and we can get the professional problem solvers to give us advice. Only good things could come of that, I’m sure of it.
All this episode needed was Nate and it would have been pretty much perfect. The banter between the guys and Greg is top tier. Miss you Nate! But good choice in bringing Greg back on!
Balderdash Bates has never been more on point with his family's love of Crossville, TN, and Mariner's Point. I'm from Northeastern PA, but I went to Crossville (technically Fairfield Glade) with my grandparents and brothers every summer as kids. It's truly paradise for pickleball, putt-putt, and most notably Nate's favorite sport, golf.
Hello Folks and Hey Bear 🐻 Dusty and Greg on the same episode was the best! Dusty, you know you have to invite Greg to The Land. Thanks for all the laughs
I love how in the last podcast Greg said how he was arguing with his dad about “really being in sales”. But then when Dusty said “sometimes I would try and sell to a person in the store”. Greg pointed and said “now that’s a committed employee” 😂 1:27:00
I enjoy Greg's telling and re-telling of his stories. To me if feels natural to hear someone re-tell the same story, sometimes you hear a friend tell you a story even with a slight variation and you can still enjoy the conversation. Years ago I joked to a friend that as I was getting older, I could watch the same movie more than once and still enjoy it like the first time. He told me, "Well, I have read the same book more than once without realizing it. It was still a good read". In fact, he said, " a while ago I bought the same book twice". I said, " okay, you win".
I can't believe we finally got the gate keeper and the key master together in one episode! Dusty and Gregg finally get to stare each other down for 2 hours!
I was in retail sales for over 40 years. RVP's, District Managers, Store Managers, merchandise companies, end caps, POG's, eye level vs. bottom shelf! Listening to Greg calling Dusty names for the tactics he used was fire! This episode brought back all the good and bad of having to deal with all the knuckleheads in the retail landscape. Keep up the great work guys!
I laughed so hard throughout this entire episode. As an employee of The J.M. Smucker Company (current owner of Jif and Folgers), I love Greg's sales stories so much! Also love how smoothly Dusty sold the single pen to Aaron. He did say his mother loves this pen in his pitch to Aaron, but he said it so naturally and authentically - I think Aaron bought it because of that without even realizing that's why he bought it. Slick, Dusty!
Flute Man! Always love seeing Greg. Last night I dreamed I was Nate's opening act. Does anyone else think Greg looks like Will Forte at certain angles?
Love the timeshare talk! My wife and I learned just tell them about thirty minutes in we have terrible credit amd they get mad and just give you the gift they offered for listening to them. Works every time.
Solid Episode! I had a degree in Marketing and I feel like I learned more from Greg and Dusty than my years in college. So I guess the lesson is don’t go to college when you can listen to Nateland 😅
Hello Folks! I love when Dusty made a callback to when Breakfast shared the awkward standing ovation on his dry bar taping. Breakfast, seemed to forget sharing his own story, and acted as if it never happened. When anyone else reshares a story on the podcast, Breakfast shuts it down immediately. I am glad Nate is back to help keep Breakfast in line going forward haha.
I don't think Breakfast ever forgets anything, lol. He has a role to play, of beleaguered unlucky Eeyore, and in a situation like the one you described that happens here, I think he holds it to allow the others time to make fun of him, as per his usual character. Just my opinion, of course! Love all the guys and shove a 5th chair in there whenever Greg is in town!
This was such a great episode! You guys carried the show so well in Nate’s absence. Dusty, Brian - I don’t see Charlotte on your tour dates! Aaron, I am looking forward to seeing you later this year! I finally saw Nate in person in Greenville SC. He KILLED of course, even had my teenage daughters laughing! ❤ you guys!
Nate has been checked out from the podcast for a while and this episode proved it. This one felt like the first episodes. Light hearted and fun without Nate disagreeing with everything Aaron says.
If I’m honest, when Nate is on the Podcast he seems unhappy, or maybe overworked and just tired. If I go back and watch him in the first episodes he just seems like he’s having fun. That’s been lost at some point, and it comes out a lot in how he interacts with Aaron in particular.
Nate is putting so much into his current tour. He had 3 shows scheduled for Chicago. That has expanded to 6 shows! This is just one city. I see online that he keeps adding shows. I think the change you mentioned may be exhaustion. Plus, they started the podcast during the shutdown due to Covid when not much work was going on. I don't know when Nate's tour ends, but I hope he gets some much needed rest.
Much like Aaron, I had a job that required me to make a certain number of calls every day. The more important metric at this job was time on the phone, not just calls made. One day I called a school and got lost in their voice mail system. I realized I could get phone time by sitting there, stuck in voicemail limbo, increasing my time on the phone. I went to that well one too many times and my manager called me into her office and said, “You aren’t even talking to anyone, how are you going to make a sale?” I replied, “We both know I suck at this job, let’s just agree it’s time to move on.” She agreed and I was unemployed.
Bates has been crushing it lately! His ad segways are top notch, & he made me laugh out loud multiple times with his off hand comments about Dusty's fictional curly hair having "bounce", policing repeat stories on the pod, & his family's timeshare 1.5 hours away from Lebanon that maybe had a lake. Great episode guys!
❤Thank you so very much for this episode❤! I thought I had seen every single episode but this saved my Friday!!! I always enjoy Greg Warren! Good times 😊

Greg, can I get an update after you go to the urologist? The frequency of your bathroom breaks are very close to mine. I often get dehydrated because this is such an issue for me. Thanks in advance and hope you come back with some solution.
Oh my gosh, this episode was much-needed therapy like the early ones were! The first hour was the BEST- laughed more than I have since the Kentucky episode, honestly... second half was a bit of a repeat but still fun to see Dusty and Greg getting to know each other. :-D
One more vote for A-A-Ronland. We've got to stick together. That said, when is the next support meeting? My wife, J-qwellin needs to know she's not alone.
I've never related to an episode more than this one! I was a beverage vendor for 7 years and I'm a paint vendor for Home Depot for the last 6 years and I feel like I could sit down and talk for days with Dusty and Greg! We share way too many of the same opinions and situations haha😂
Hey Fellas! Fun show. Just to contribute to the conversation about comedy cities… I do stand-up in DC, and as you all know, this area’s pretty great for Clubs and access to Baltimore, Philadelphia, and NYC on weekends.
Love this episode, I am a Retail Sales Coach for the company I work at and my job is to coach and boost the sales of our retail associates. Always an interesting industry.
This sales episode couldn't help but remind me of selling World's Finest Chocolate during my grade school years. Every year the World's Finest Chocolate reps would come in and get a bunch of 9-12 year olds all pumped up on selling chocolate--using the "prize" catalogue as the incentive. I hated selling it and never did very well. I lived on the outskirts of what was already a rural town, and so I had about four people on my sales list every year. They were good customers though because they bought from me every time. I remember lots of kids "cheated", by giving the sales sheet to their parents and they would bring it to work with them. My parents would NEVER do it, so I always ended up bringing about 80% of the candy back to school. My best sales year is when our family dog Duke got into my room and ate ALL of the chocolate I had left, and it was a lot--my parents had to pay for it. Thankfully and surprisingly all that chocolate didn't phase Duke at all and he was just fine.
Great plot twist in the episode when Brian asked Greg to repeat the same stuff he had told in his previous appearance! I was hoping for repeat of "You go against Skippy and see how you do!"
If you guys don't think anyone's dipping Lay's potato chips than you have obviously never had Lawson's Original Chip Dip which is only available in OH, PA, MI, IN, and KY. Best dip ever and great with Lays!!!
Today was officially my last day at my current job. I arrived a little early this morning and was just sitting in my car listening to the episode when Aaron told the "etiquette eti-cat" story and I lost it. The mental image of him trying to be polite and accept that brutal advice sent me into a total laughing fit. Unfortunately this happened while most of my soon to be former coworkers were showing up to start their work day. I'm pretty positive everyone assumed I was incredibly giddy to be leaving and that probably made my goodbyes and claims that I would really miss the place come off a little less than sincere.
Currently watching this episode with my girlfriend here in Atlanta. We have been watching together since the beginning. It floored me when Aaron was reading the skills endorsed for him on LinkedIn. I just wanted to let you know the slang for “neck”, the skill endorsed on there is saying you have no gag reflex. FYI, there is an option to remove skills endorsed by people.
Yay!! Always great to see Mr. Peanut butter back!! Now every time I go to the grocery store I check to see where the Jif and Pringles are located. And of course love the podcast. I look forward to Wednesday.
You just have to dip carefully when dipping Lays! When my Grandma was in hospice for months, all she wanted to eat was classic Lays with Prairie Farms french onion dip. The rest of us got hooked during that time and it's still my fave years later. :-)
I love how Greg Warren says all the selling techniques didn’t work for him. Apparently he just fell back on the fact that he was selling things (like Peanut butter and Pringles) that everybody wanted anyway. Amazing selling technique.
I worked in apartment sales before coming a stay at home mom. One property I worked at was in a bad neighborhood, with high crime and a lot of loitering but in the daytime, it looked nice. The model apartments we showed were really nice too. I was a really good seller but would feel terrible when a sweet family from out of town would show up ready to give me a deposit. I would suggest they come back and visit the property in the evening to get a sense of the area. I received a lot of calls thanking me for the advice and they were choosing another apartment community 😂
Bitcoin had the dueling banjos of retail strategy going between Dusty and Greg. He had me rolling when he asked "What's a planogram?" in an excited tone. Anyone that has been in retail (25 years myself) knows that planograms don't deserve that level of excitement. Thank you for the laughs and great job to the guys for filling in without Nate.
Fun episode guys, but I really missed Nate's, "LOVE YOU GUYS" at the end. I tear up everytime he ends the episode with it. I'm kind of a crier, but there is just something genuine about it. Keep up the love and laughter! Might need a LIVE LAUGH LOVE sign in the studio!
Dusty - the Mormon school you're thinking of is called UVU, Utah Valley University. Which is not actually a religious school but is very large and very close to an actual religious school BYU (Brigham Young University), which is just 10 minutes away from UVU.
My uncle had a high ranking position in a grocery store chain in the Athens, GA area. He used to get all sorts of stuff from vendors. The best was the tickets he got from RJ Reynolds for the 1992 NLCS Game 7. I was 11 years old, and we were near the very top of the stadium surrounded by Marlboro men when smoking was still allowed in stadiums, but to this day I can say that I was there when Sid slid.
Maybe next time let Aaron sit in Nate's seat to read comments so that they can at least blame the lighting or windflow of the room to explain why they flubb up when they are reading!!! Loved having Greg on again!
If a significant portion of your total compensation isn’t in the form of bonuses or commissions you are not a salesman. You simply work in sales. Most of these products are established brands that the customer contractually has to carry in their stores. Love the pod.

Dusty shines!
41:54 Lay’s potato chips and that powdered onion soup- sour cream dip is a classic paring and it graced the table and many family get together’s.
I stand with Tracy on this one!!!!
My #1 favorite guest on Aaronland and Nateland.
After listening to these guys, Nate is a daggum genius! Aaron done caught the dyslexia too! Love the podcast!!
YES! Greg's back!!
I love how Greg Warren says all the selling techniques didn’t work for him. Apparently he just fell back on the fact that he was selling things (like Peanut butter and Pringles) that everybody wanted anyway. Amazing selling technique.
This was a great episode! Hopefully Nate will watch this and give the boys some rope going forward.
Great ep.
Loved every minute of this episode! Y’all were having fun and so we’re we!
Yessss! We love Greg Warren!
I am a big fan of Kenny G. I saw him in concert at Rialto in Joliet, IL. Looking forward to seeing Greg Warren there someday👍🏾
I just love these guys! 😂❤
Black beans describing San Diego as ‘trapped’ against an ocean rather than beach city is the most Bates thing he’s said in a while.
“Break up with her” 😂
I have listened to your show since the beginning of time. This episode made me laugh so much! Loved it!!
Loved the pen pitch exercise. Classic
Dusty-While in Toledo OH you should have ate at Tony Packo's(often referenced at the show MASH).
Love you guys!
Go dawgs
I don't eat a lot of peanut butter, but when I do, I make sure it is not Peter Pan's. Thanks for all the laughs Greg
love to see Aaron practicing his shocked and offended face as Greg was telling that story
Vandy is out ...
Aaronnland is officially a Notre Dame cast ☘
Maybe next time let Aaron sit in Nate's seat to read comments so that they can at least blame the lighting or windflow of the room to explain why they flubb up when they are reading!!! Loved having Greg on again!
If a significant portion of your total compensation isn’t in the form of bonuses or commissions you are not a salesman. You simply work in sales. Most of these products are established brands that the customer contractually has to carry in their stores. Love the pod.
