Okay, to be clear, the “hose thing” that is difficult to remove, that they’re tanking about is called a Vacuum Breaker. It prevents back flow, which can contaminate your water supply. They’re not meant to come off. There is a set screw that locks it in place, so you can screw/unscrew a hose, without it coming off. If it’s connected to drinking supply, they’re required, seems like they’re could be a problem with this product not fitting over a VB.
Yes, I am aware that vacuum breakers are required and not meant to come off. However, when they eventually wear out and leak they need to be replaced somehow.
