So close to that podium Romain! Let’s go!
Romain is absolutely carrying Juncos. Getting a lot more pace out of that car than it should have.

NBC making us excited for Fox today.
Your forgetting the amount of ads that got on Nascar this year will be on Indy car next year for fox .

this race had everything you could ask for in a race. battles for positions and action throughout the field, multiple strategies that were constantly changing, no clue who was going to win until the end. this race is why I love IndyCar.
Palou was in control the whole way, it was silly how a lot of other drivers were only kept in it because of the yellows.
@@aavvv_ thats the thing, any yellow at the wrong time would have screwed up his whole strategy. after the first yellow they were even questioning if the team had him on the right tires.

His patience paid off this time - no unforced errors due to greed.
Kitkwood's got some much needed confidence now he is no longer a rookie. His driving is improved as well. I'd love to see him get a win. 🙂

At last Grosjean drove sensibly and didn't try to bite off too big a chunk resulting in an unforced error. Great finish, Romain!
As they say, better late than never. He's the reason F1 introduced penalty points, guy has a reputation to live up to.
Great race, no idea how they can stop Palou

Newgarden's villain arc is about to start on the oval heavy part of the calendar
Indycar series racing crazy good viewing!
as a former big time nascar fan, it is crazy this wasn't on tv today. Indy car is best racing over nascar and boring F1.
Cmon mate Indy is good but they don’t even stick to track limits, f1 is the most skillfull
Indy and NBC are trying to get people to subscribe to their other services.
NBC was showing golf where I live.

@@timazu77 F1 is a snoozefest; in America its always been if it is paved its allowed, track limits are stupid
@@timazu77track limits shmack limits
The rule in indycar is basically “the track limits are where the concrete stops and the gravel/grass/barrier starts”
I actually think f1 could do with being a bit more indycar like. Give the drivers a bit more rope to race each other rather than penalizing anything that isn’t a DRS pass.
It's motogp then indycar with f1 a distant 3rd.
These highlights are longer than you can watch a race on tv without a commercial break.
I really try but I turn a race off the moment they cut away completely under green.
Which they do every time a green flag drops. I gave up on this tv product years ago for exactly the reason you have outlined. Three talking heads will yap endlessly during yellow flag periods about what might happen on green - often talking over each other in the process - then when the green drops off they go to commercial.
Goodbye Indycar. Get your tv house in order and I would consider watching some races again. Until then, I have better things to do. It's a shame, because races at Laguna Seca, Elkhart Lake and Mid Ohio are as good as anything else in the world. But too much crap ruins the experience for many of us.
Yea, I missed it! Argh
Good race! I do still root for Grosjean first win. Lol He can do it, as he used to be too aggressive constantly getting into trouble for it. But, today he showed great patience and stayed alive with all the mayhem. If he stays calm, picks his battles, eventually he will have another good car and good pits to put it together.
Congratulations to Alex on winning the race.

Laguna Seca is one of two racetracks in the U.S. (Sonoma being the other) that I know of that are similar in an aspect to the massive Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium - very rarely level or straight.
Road America.... has some straights but reminds me of Spa....
Sonoma looks deceptively simple. But every turn is off camber and many of the apexes are blind. You win there, you are truly one of the best drivers in auto racing. It is an unreal tough track to win on. F1 should try it. It's not easy.
Don't forget about Watkins Glen. It's the other large road course in the US. IMSA just had the "6 Hours of the Glen" that was fantastic.
Ha, ha, ha good joke.
Sonoma should be back on the IndyCar calender, early season when it's still green, and the full sports car track not the dumb IndyCar version without the final hairpin.
Ngl we almost saw Marcus Armstrong get seriously hurt or worse today.
That spin in the dirt was almost a T-bone at speed and I imediately flashed back to the 2 recent deaths at Spa in open wheelers...
though anything is possible, I doubt it would have been too severe since IndyCars are better built for crashes than European openwheel cars and also the speeds at that section aren't as high as at the section of Spa that the deaths occurred
Really annoyed that the nascar broadcast was extended, therefore not showing the Indy Car race! If the network can't show the original program in the original time slot, why ruin it for the following programs, especially live sport broadcasts?!?
Good highlights! Thanks NBC!

NBC can't be trusted with broadcasting sports. I realize that nascar ran late due to rain delay but once the race was over instead of showing the rest of indycar they decided to show reruns of law and order. Smh! The disrespect is real!
There’s no way that the decision to halt the nascar race for hours only to start back up at the same time at the Indy race wasn’t intentional. Either by the network or nascar or both. To kill the broadcast just to show a mostly under caution puddle fest while an actual race was relegated to another paywall channel was garage, and I’m sure wasn’t motivated by the series signing with a new network. Why else would they also. It show the last 30 laps live but a rerun of a tv show instead.
Shut up. NASCAR is just better.
NASCAR gets the ratings, so of course it will take priority

Thanks for the boring Sunday.
At least you didn't give away the winner in the thumbnail here like you did with your Nascar highlight video. Or maybe you did but I couldn't make out the car.😣
Question to Americans: why do you guys call safety car periods "full course yellow" or "caution"?
its just the term that we've used since we started using them in the late 60s/early 70s.
Grosjean making me clamp my butt.
Only problem is , all that passing is for fifth place and further back, never up front except at the 500.
Is anyone besides Penske or Ganassi going to win a race this year? At least both teams have multiple drivers. But only two Ganassi guys are winning. That's it. Looks like five drivers in total will take the checkered flag this year. Just like USAC in the early sixties or CART in the mid seventies. Worse. Because no outliers are breaking through this year at all, unless someone gets disqualified. Hopefully the hybrids will bring a learning curve for everybody and make it a true competition again
Too many flippin Cautions!!!
Why do F1 teams ignore Palou .......???? I don't see a seat available in F1 for next year, for Alex Palou.
