Brilliant job there Steve. Gripfill and the felt paint was an interesting tip. Got a front wing/sill to do once the weather cheers up.

Give the Gripfill a go for the price it sticks to the metal really well and moulds into the edges of your repair, the felt adhesive was an experiment because I already had it but again it’s designed to stick so should be at least as good as paint!! 👍🔧🔧

Thanks Jon I sold the wife’s car the old Golf so you know how that goes 😀 so she needs transport the old Astra was her previous ride so all’s well that ends well I guess, family heir loom, the only car I’ve ever owned that got a name she’s called the Pea from when my son was using her that’s what his mates christened her and it stuck. Some cars are just part of family and it’s been great to pay back to a piece of engineering all the trouble free miles and smiles she’s given if your a car guy you’ll understand. Plenty more content left in the MK2 don’t worry 🔧👍
