As far as I know, everyone I know who's pitched their ideas to a game company have never got their ideas accepted, even if they were good. Some people claimed their ideas were even stolen. That's when I learned you can't copyright ideas. I guess this could be a word of warning. lol
Hello guys!!! I'm a lifelong gamer and have always loved the joy of going on a new adventure. Experiencing new worlds and saving the day! I'm not in the gaming industry and have 0 knowledge of how to build/program a game. LOL I'm just good at telling a story and create characters. (From what I been told.) I have two game ideas that I would like to pitch to a developer. So would the same rules apply to myself and where can I go to being my ideas? Thank you for your time and attention! 🤘😁
i have a question if you have an idea to create a game with a character that already exist and that belongs to a huge gaming company can you sell it to them for example I make a mario game and I want to sell it to nintendo can I? If so how?
You have to know how to communicate game ideas and then find a publisher. You have to study your publisher. You need to find one who is able to have a team of their own and make your game. You have to know how to communicate by providing the ideas, and the ideas must be realistic. The idea must have a prototype of the game, what software is the game, what artstyle, how many people are required to be needed, what budget is it, how big is the game, what are the mechanics, etc. These ideas must be drawn out, organized, have art examples, animation examples, etc. It doesn't have to be proefficient but needs to be well-polished and professionally communicative.
@Khuaikhema Hnamte I need a prototype, not a descriptive idea. You cannot pitch with just an "idea'. The prototype has to be a well-polished. YOUR PUBLISHER NEEDS A PROTOTYPE!
@Khuaikhema Hnamte If you are doing a KICKSTARTER, then it doesnt matter! YOU STILL NEED A PROTOTYPE OR DEMO to prove to your audience what the mechanics and how good the game will be like. Without it, you are pushing your audience away, giving them nothing to observe!
@Khuaikhema Hnamte Then you need to hire a programmer, which will cost you a lot of money. Games are not easy! You need milestones, budget management, marketing platforms, etc. You need communication skills with your programmer, concept art ideas will be faster and easier for communication to the programmer but it will take a lot of your time. If you dont have concept art ideas to communicate then it will be hard for your programmer to make the animations, sprites, etc the way you want them to. You need a time schedule and a published date and how long will it take for you to make the game to reach the published date? Will there be a push to the deadline? Where are your audiences, target audience, etc?? Where are you connecting with them, through Facebook, instgram, twitter, discord?? If the game is as big as League of Legends, Overwatch, etc, and you believe that you can do it alone in less than a year then you're not being realistic. If the game is as small as Pac Man then you wont get a lot of money from it. There are just far off better games competing with one another nowadays!
Does the pokemon company be willing to buy my million dollar idea 💡 if so how do I get chance to talk to them I suck at drawing 😅 but it's already the well known pkmn monsters so it doesn't matter
Dude be explaining with so much ambition and heart, really good to listen to. You can literally hear how much he loves and understands his job.
Bitching is very important in the gaming industry.

Execute your idea and it can't be stolen so easily.
Ideas withouth execution are worthless anyway.

Can a regular consumer pitch a game to a studio and have it be made? Has this happened before?
It can, but if the consumer only pitches and doesn't produce something, the consumer is very likely to receive nothing but a word of thanks from it.
thank for sharing! I took some notes 😄
You know anything about creating a gaming all I need a partner I have the next big thing for sure

What if you have an amazing game idea but you dont know how to code or even work in an company???

@Khuaikhema Hnamte If you're lazy and want big bucks easily then that's something everyone thinks of as well. You have to work hard for it.
