This market is going to calm down for sure

Nice one Vinny. I've turned down a couple of AD offers this year, saying I didn't want them. I've only bought models I wanted in the past. There are a couple of Rolex still on the wish list but I'm looking at the grey market more and more as prices equalise. If I don't get what I want from the AD I feel confident I won't be overpaying by much if at all by years end. Rolex ADs are far from desperate but we're about 6/7 years on from seeing most models available in the window. That's the norm.
Majority of consumers developed the Rolex fatigue at this point. They were treated like trash by the AD upon asking for a professional SS reference, whilst in reality the AD was selling the stock back door to the grey dealers. Also, the whole watch trend sentiment is fading away fast. There are no more helicopter money, people are not locked up in homes anymore, they are spending money elsewhere. This is not the 2021 anymore. Rolex was never a premium price brand. I could get whatever I like at 15-25% OFF before 2018. Those times are coming back fast!

Technically, we already have discounts. Almost all YG daydates can be found bellow retail. Two tone datejusts and some steel datejusts as well. Even the two tone GMT GRNR can be found bellow retail in Germany in classifieds .. The AD's are still clearing the years old waiting lists and they are catching the last crayon eaters to sell them that 31mm diamond dial datejust. I do believe the watches they receive is random but predictable based on their past deliveries, all i know for here in the UK that some stores get a LOT MORE stock than others particularly Manchester Trafford Centre is in the top 3 in the UK for deliveries
Sure thing, in the UK these can be picked up as low as £9000 now, personally i would prefer early 2000’s reference which will be more, I also prefer original bezels, lots have service bezels or non genuine ones so look out for that

even for those watches that are sitting at a loss, there aren't many watch brands at this price range than can still offer that percentage of the rrp being returned if you decide to get out of the watch. Imagine buying a two tone breitling at RRP and wanting to get out of it after a year of gently wearing 😮

I know someone’s who’s cracked in warranty and he was given a different, less vibrant shade of blue. Look how that blue has got darker. Rolex have published a guide on the manufacturing process and how they are sintered. It is no coincidence that all the other GMTs are black - it is far easier to sinter once the primary color gets put on first. Just like when playing with paint- black covers anything. They have preserved because it’s the Pepsi - one of their icons.
The crazy part is in America the prices are not the same as England the gmt 2 two tone at the AD is 16,500 and in the grey market there asking 21,000 to 22,000 so you can stilll make a few bucks on that watch here so I’m confused the watch market is crazy

I got offered 9.5k for a new Sub Non Date. But the formula is pretty simple: A) Is it popular? B) Is it a steel sportswatch C) is it a GMT If it's yes to the first two, probably a flip, if it's yes to all 3, 100% flip. Some exceptions are premium configs like DJ fluted jubilee with motif dial, or OP Celebration. Golden rule, anything two tone or solid PM is not a flip. Simple.
The only new Rolex I actually want at the moment is a 124060. The rest are vintage or neo vintage. I really think the ADs have shot themselves in the foot long term with how they've treated customers over the last 4 years. Now that the flippers are leaving in droves and the economy has meant less people have the disposable income to buy luxury items like this, the naive loyalty that some showed to their ADs in hopes of getting certain watches is drying up. Rolex as a brand will always be top dog with the way they maintain their market position, but the days of people bending over backwards and paying ridiculous sums of money for fairly ordinary watches in comparison to what you could buy for equal money are well gone. Perhaps them buying Bucherer is because they foresaw this happening.

Rolex authorized dealers know what the watches are trading for in the secondary market and are keeping a profile and purchasing history for each customer and of course they are not going to sell watches that trade above Msrp to people without having a purchase history of supporting the brand and buying watches that trade below Msrp and flippers are going to be banned because of fear of losing the authorized dealership from Rolex suspecting they are in cahoots and being greedy with flippers!!!!!!

124060 in the US market also pays sales tax so one would be in for ~$10k. Dealers may offer like $10.5k but definitely trending down.

I would never sell my Rolex. I love my Rolex and I enjoy it. I wear it every day for good 10 to 15 hours. Thanks to my AD

The financial markets are going to be seeing a monumental crash towards Q4 with investment portfolios collapsing thanks to the interest rate holding with the BOE. Smart money is moving away from luxury goods. We’re going to see a drop like no other this year.

@@vinnyfranciswatchesvery likely. There’s a ton of wealth in the world. Most of the people getting layoff/redundancy aren’t Rolex buyers. Short of WWIII sideways is most likely. And BTC is pumping so young men may sell some off to get the watch of their dreams.
Momentum can cut in both direction.
