Qualified Accountant turned Watch Dealer. The place for Uncensored, Analytical and Honest Watch Talk and the first channel to chat about the financial side of watches, openly unveiling grey market trade prices. I'll have a laugh, poke fun and share my opinions and wont hold back from telling it how it is.
I started collecting while working for BNY Mellon as a Fund Accountant, evolving my collection from TAG Heuer to Rolex and the disease still riddles me today. I loved it so much that I got into the business of trading watches, creating Vinny Francis Luxury, based in the UK - but don't worry, unlike the rest, i’m not here to sell or hype my inventory.
I chat about timepieces from brands such as Rolex, Omega, Patek and Cartier, offer debate on current industry topics and give financial analysis of the market drawing on my insider dealer knowledge and economic background. Want something different and truly honest?

Dealer ADMITS that unworn Rolexes now DIFFICULT to source as waitlists FALL
The luxury watch market is facing its biggest challenge in years. Retail sales are plummeting, Watches of Switzerland has seen its stock tank by nearly 40% in the past year, and China-once a massive growth engine-has reported a catastrophic 50% drop in demand. This is more than a slowdown-it’s a crisis. What does this mean for the future of luxury watches, the grey market, and even the direction brands like ROLEX, OMEGA and CARTIER will take in 2025?

So what’s the impact on spending, investing, and even luxury markets like Rolex watches? Let’s break...

Timepiece Gentleman SCANDAL, Rolex Watch Dealer bluntly talks of the lessons learned!
let's not kid ourselves , quartz will never have the heritage of the automatic movements , i'd rather have a lower tiered automatic brand than a let's say quartz omega ... the mechanism is the value.
The bubble has finally burst and I personally don’t have any sympathy. They have had a license to print money for far too long. I recently tried to exchange 2 tag heuer red bull and f1 watches both 2 years old in mint condition in exchange for a tag heuer used priced at £6500 only to be offered £550 for both pieces. I will no longer buy in this market and will limit my purchase to no more than £500 new. And wear the watch and enjoy my purchase rather than think your going to make any money back
Warren Buffet known as the Oracle of Omaha could be argued to be the greatest investor in history. He is predicting 2025 to be a bad economic year, he went as far as to say many are not going to survive the year. Now I speaking, the very moment there is any economic instability the first thing people do is stop luxury buying. During the 2008 market collapse, there were people pawning Ferrari s in Los Angeles. My thoughts hold on to your money, reduce debt, and wait to see what happens. If Buffet 's predictions come true, one may be able to pick up a luxury watch from someone who needs the money for a song.
Respect your customers u will get rewarded or else will be discarded by ur customers.
Don't bet your future on nations that have never embraced free markets and strong private property rights. As well as being full of corruption and a lack of real innovation to grow their economies. Nations like this can be here today, gone tomorrow.
They keep raising prices and treating customers with contempt.
Wow, there is a lot to unpack in this 10 minute video. First, Watches of Switzerland is emblematic of the AD's who still are holding onto the Pandemic Games climate. WoS has turned off so many of their potential new Rolex customers that it is good to see now the results of their poor treatment of new Rolex customers hitting them in their stock price. I have been on the personal end of WoS sales treatment, and can't wait to pay them back when the tine is right. Second, Vinny croons about the brands going back to more affordable pieces. The fact is Rolex and their ADs are promoting precious metal pieces over entry level peces like the Oyster Perpetual watches which would bring in new buyers to the brand. Rolex started 2025 with a price increase so I am not sure what Vinny sees when he made this comment. Thirdly, until the brands and the ADs throw away their infamous Exhibition Only signs that they worship so dearly (I like to walk into the AD and ask to buy them outright to tweak the sales person), the customer should just stay out of the boutique. Only then will Rolex and AD show they are serious about treating customers like the real asset we are, and stop the retail abuse they think they are entitled to deliver.
Rolex made their deathbed, now its time to lay in it. Also fyi for those who don't know Rolex in asia is rejecting warranty for pieces which have been opened or polished. So.. grey market has become even more unappealing.
KARMA is a bitch!!!😂
WOS told me to drive to Manchester from London to express my interest in a GP Laureato they had in stock. No guarantees I could actually buy the watch. Maybe I needed a better spend history on other items they said. After that experience, I will NEVER EVER shop from WOS now they are begging for our custom.
being a ethnic chinese Singaporean , i can tell u guys china is definitely gradually crashing economically in coming 5 to 10 years. it will no longer be any economic leading force or factor in coming decades.
For Rolex steel models I doubt seeing retail prices on unworn anytime soon
Very pretty studio man
Wait - what are you saying about the Rodium 40mm Yahctmaster? I've wanted that watch for years, from when it was a "shitter"!
no it’s a beauty, just not the most wanted Rolex at the moment
@@vinnyfranciswatches that suits me just fine! (even though I still can't afford it, fml)
I've been waiting for a blue dial yacht master for 3 years. Still haven't got the call
really?? I promise you that if you enquire again or at another AD you should only be waiting a matter of weeks for that piece now…they’ve simply forgotten about you, you’re not waiting
I just went to my Rolex AD in Glasgow last week to check if I'm still on the waiting list for the no-date submariner. The woman said we never take you off the list and I said I have been on the list for over 3 1/2 years. she said I would have to be patient . I just ordered a Ginault Ocean Rove ll 2.5 will be here in 6 weeks. Rolex can stick it ,I also sold my 2020 AirKing because I really don't want anything to do with Rolex ever again.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching !
People buying watches to wear, which is the waste majority, after many learned watches aren’t investments, doesn’t care much if a used watch is unworn. Condition and accessory will be the factor. And, if it’s a watch to wear, minute hairlines doesn’t play much of a factor if they can save some money. Same as with cars… don’t buy new. Let someone else take the first hit. Also, grey dealers are still sitting on stockpiles they accumulate during the hype years. There will be fierce competition to get out of these, as sales are fewer in between, which means dropping prices still.
hmm you’d be surprised, there are many many stubborn buyers that want new, they don’t want visibly used but yes ‘handling marks’ i guess are acceptable to most
A bloke ran into my rolex dealer and smashed his bellend into the cabinet and shouted suck this fucker, I left the store immediately
Rolex will continue to rule supreme NMW.
I think you are wrong about quartz’s coming back. Quartz watches are so yesterday. For luxury watches SOLAR is a must for the price. I think it is just plain stupid to pay exorbitant prices for a quartz watch. If you fancy quartz, buy TIMEX.
but that was my point, they won’t be exorbitant prices, imagine a seamaster…exactly the same watch but with a quartz movement inside for £3k rather than £5.5k, just like they used to do, it opens up a whole new market for them
And yet all watch brands will still raise the prices of watches way more than inflation this year. They're all taking the piss with their prices. Panerai Submersible at 8k?? As if. And while I LOVE my Rolex Explorer, it's not worth £6500, and no, a submariner is absolutely not worth 9k either. They're TOOL watches. Well made, sure, but they're made to have the shit beaten out of them, but they've become silly luxury items instead that nobody dare wear to do any real work out of fear of losing value (myself included!).
This has puzzled me too, inflation has been very high these past few years however brands have, despite falling sales, continued with hikes above and beyond the high inflation! why?
I’ll believe it when I can walk in to any Rolex AD and buy any model I want at MSRP. I very much doubt that will happen this year, or for several more.
Anthony mcwankshaft stole my watch and wanked off in the Iwjg carpark
Thanks for the info in this video. One aspect doesn’t make sense. If there’s a shortage of unworn watches on the grey market, this will surely lead to prices for them increasing again, perhaps not as madly as before but small incremental increases are more likely than being ‘locked in’ , don’t you think?
If the waitlists are ending, who’s going to be buying unworn pieces from grey market dealers? I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. One day, I might grace an AD with my presence when they’ve got plenty of inventory and are offering discounts.
Bye Felicia (rolex)
China's economy is tanking. The property sector that makes up 30% of their GDP is trillions in debt. Xi Jiping's flagship Belt & Road Initiative came to a grinding halt due to Covid, and his Zero Covid policy destroyed China's middle-class.
Still waiting for my Pepsi GMT since April 2021. Still the same nonsense “for display only not for sale”.
its true, I see Rolex AD's in china post daily their watches they want to sell.
All that guff to buy a watch brand that nobody cares about on your wrist….
Imagine being an absolute dildo who paid way over retail for a Tiffany blue OP41 just a couple of years ago 😂😂😂
Great to see this happening, why should customers have to beg an AD to sell them a watch? When we all know its just a preference list, reserved for their rich clients. Rolex stores are just a glorified museum.
Rolex are more common that Toyota Corolla. They've had 4 years to build a second factory if the scarcity is real, which I don't believe it is.
Thanks for the breakdown! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Roles waiting list is bullshit and is coming back to bite them, Seiko beats then hands down period at a fraction of the cost.
But I am still waiting 😂I mean seriously I don’t want to buy other junk to buy a Rolex. Is simple as that.
Thank goodness... NORMALITY!!
3:38 retail prices of most Rolex models are cheaper, aren’t they?
in my humble opinion only people that would buy a quartz luxury watch is strictly because they want the name
If you can afford a Rolex you can afford the grey market premium……buy the watch you want on the day…..
I’m not supporting inflated prices. To me these are people who don’t want the watches but scalp to increase the price. Too bad for me but is also to protect myself from fakes.
Watch brands created this environment……… let them rot. Another year of uninspiring new releases on the horizon and another group of enthusiasts moving on to pastures new. Luxury brands will be having fire sales going into 2026 due to consumers having to be smart with finances. We’re heading towards the next level of the economic crash (biblical in the U.K.) and the last thing on everyone’s minds is going to be time pieces. Casio are going to have a field day.
I have been on a “list” and two AD’s for 8 months, nothing yet. The last AD I went into in Bristol had the watch I wanted on display, and a few others I would have considered, and wouldn’t sell me a single thing.
duh! China is in the shitter. What do you expect?
Eh - anecdotally, i was just in a mall recently whuch has a number of jewelry stores, most of which sell mid-tier luxury watches as well as Rolexes. There were plenty of Breitling, Tag Heuer, Tudor, Omega, Longines, and the like, but their Rolex displays (which are on rhe outside windows to entice mall-goers to come inside) were ridiculously empty. I mean, where there's room to display say, 4 or 5 different watches on a display stand, they only have one - and it's often like a 28mm ladies' datejust. So, at least where i live, either demand still far outstrips supply, and the ADs can still play their "Silly peasant, Rolexes are for Kings!" games, or Rolex is deliberately trying to go out of business by refusing to even *display* their wares!
I can still remember when Rolex dealers would practically beg you to buy their watches…. Now, they’ve gotten so snooty it’s such a turn off. F the flippers
Overpriced is an understatement
Bro, your table is so shaky
I think the slowing demand will precipitate a more severe downward spiral...once any of us proles can walk in to the dealer and buy a Rolex, they won't be nearly as desirable to us proles. Kind of a catch-22.
