I went back to college at 32 to get an associate's degree. Married, had 2 little girls. Got a student loan. Went to school at night as much as possible when kids were home with daddy. I was sick of making peanuts. Quadrupled my income, by doing that. Best move I ever made.
If you're working 40 hours a week to afford an apt and your doing Starbucks or doordash or even eating out at all. It's like you deserve to be broke. When covid hit I quit everything that wastes cash. Have since saved more than ever thought possible.
I work Uber eats and instacart. The Uber eats is funny because most are right around the corner. I will say most of my instacart orders are for the elderly🫶🏾
It is so sad that I know someone who is out of work. She has some unemployment and took some money from her 401K. She took a hit on early withdrawal. However, she orders food online, shops like crazy, and late on her rent. When she complains of money I just look at her, and tell you are the cause of your money problems
I used to deliver for doordash during Covid while going through college. I have made several deliveries where I parked my car once to both pick up and deliver the order, it's ludicrous.
I have listened to people who have told me they are broke. They make good money, have advanced degrees. They are always taking cruises, eating out all the time, purchasing this and that but coming to me, a sinlge woman for loans. Sorry, no more loans. I have blocked them or one person has blocked me because she did not get $1000, I refused her.
Same. I had a coworker ask me for $5 because she overdraft on her bank account at McDonald's. Same coworker who told everyone she didn't like me. She said, " I don't like her vibe". This is the young woman rocking a new car every two years. She keeps financing. In addition, she has +$20,000 in student loans. The sad part is she earns more income than me.😔😔😔
it took me five years to pull myself out the hole , its was a nightmare to pull myself from a 500 credit score to almost an 800..you litterally have to stay in the house..i only go out and have fun every three months and buy all the comforts to my house and walk to work instead of ubering daily like i used to do doing this has saved me about 60$ a week MOn-FRi not to mention bringing my own lunch to work i am saving houndreds of dollars since lunch is almost 20$ a day..i really feel like i have money now lol
Life is not over in your 30s. You can start your life over in your 30s if you messed up your 20s. It’s never too late. Don’t listen to everything people say online. Make a plan and execute. Sometimes people are “stuck” in their 20s due to past traumas. Some are late bloomers. But it’s never and I mean NEVER too late. Some people do ten times better in their 30s and set up their life for success.
Hell Yeah, 35yo, just got a 97 on ASVAB, Navy bound, ☢️ and all, in 6 years I could have multiple advanced degrees, opportunity abound, I made it up to 90k whilst uneducated, hated it, quit, 3 years later, all savings gone, making less than half that. Getting ramrodded out here in 2024. Hit my ceiling, but being able to do whilst uneducated, let me have some advanced degrees and experience. It's an A-hole word and getting more and more all the time. 250 is the new 100k, FOH

We have a 15 year old car 300k in investments 401k 250k 100k in Roth IRA 6 month emergency fund just bought a home in a very desirable neighborhood. We invest more than we spend. Everyone thought we were broke until we bought our home. I’m 35. It can be done. Move in silence and throw everything into investments and high yield accounts. We don’t even make a lot of money we just don’t spend. Only invest in things that make you money. It’s never too late. It’s true about relationships cousins came and saw our home which is worth 600-750k and they started treating us in a very transactional way. Needless to say we keep them at arms length. It’s quite sad.
this my financial adviser said i can live on one paycheck and i am seeing that now i have to cut back on the extras...you have to live on bare bones for a bit build that roth and 6 months emergency fund then your golden
I started my savings with company match at 29, navy from 19-29 almost no saving but va loan for house. Every raise I got I put towards 401k until it was maxed out. Then started to paying off mortgage. Then started a Roth IRA and 1 year expense. Was laid off and started new job with 1/2 pay. So did not contribute to the Ira or a 401 for almost 8 years. But my rollover it still doubled in that time. New job, So back to maxing out new 401 and Ira again. At 58 I close to what most people need to retire, but most likely will work until 65 for medical cost for family. But nice to know I can now make it if laid off again.
Well, some people DO have family they can rely on, or some type of safety net. But when you don't have that, you need to focus on several side hustles.....and be able to generate income from different sources...because these firms will let you go in a heartbeat!! There is NO Loyalty - at all
When I was in high school the last day of class my mom would kick us out of the house and tell us, don’t come home till you have a job, and we didn’t. She used to also say don’t you ever quit a job without another lined up. Also she told us you pay your apt, food, utilities , car/gas , a roof over ur head comes first. You can always stay warm with blankets, you can walk or take bus to work.
I can point out one thing that’s different today….Social Media is far more prevalent amongst all demographics. Yes, it existed back in 2008, but it was mainly used by high-school and college students back then. Now, everyone has a voice on social media. People are far more open about discussing their situations with everyone, which in turn leads to more people sharing their similar situations. The problem though is you can end uo with a very one sided story. Yes, some people are struggling today, just like some people were struggling back in 2008. The thing is that not everyone was struggling back then, just like not everyone is struggling today. Today, you’re hearing far more individual struggles than ever before. It’s not necessarily that more people are struggling today, just that we’re now able to hear all of their stories.
Eat at home, stop impulse buying, stay out of convenience stores. If it’s not a necessity leave it alone. Watch free content instead of paying for streaming services. You’ll be surprised at how much you save.
People I agree with you. This is why I don't feel sorry for these fools. Most people you see go on a cruise and got no money. They used a credit card to pay for it when they come back. They're the oldest bills to pay back that. Don't make sense if you go on a cruise. Save up the money painting cash. So when you come back, you have no nothing to pay back. It's that simple sync before you spend people.
The woman at 21:00 is spot on. What is really important as economy and society continue to deteriorate - you need to be “The Gray Man” that means blending into crowd and not standing out - flashing jewelry, fancy clothes & purses, eating at high end restaurants, and driving a fancy car - MAKE YOU A TARGET!
Rent , Car payments , Eating out , utils , Gas and cell phone Bills are hitting hard. Those are the major drivers that are breaking people. I just cut cable.
I have a side hussle, it helps with a budget. No cable, no vacations, no eating out except for birthday coming up. Oh I give to worthy causes. Budget! Budget!
Get a small rice cooker find someone with a Costco card who you can get to buy you a 20 pound bag of rice and is willing to buy you a Costco chicken and a giant bag of frozen mixed vegetables each week that’ll be around 20 bucks a week after you’ve made the investment in the 20 pound bag of rice. We lived off of chicken, fried rice, peanut butter and banana sandwiches along with any food people from friends or family who were cleaning out their pantry, we had no shame. We simply said if you’re cleaning out your pantry or your freezer we will come to your house and pick it up. It doesn’t matter if it’s six cans of cranberry jelly we will take it. We paid off our mortgage in two years and 11 months!!! we didn’t go on vacations. We didn’t eat out we didn’t go to movies we didn’t have cable no beer our family thought we were completely deranged until we told them our mortgage was paid off then all of a sudden, we were the brilliant money managers in the family and wanted advice until they found out. It was live at poverty level until you pay off your mortgage.😂
That guy talking about his 20s is absolutely right. 3 things you must establish: 1) Purpose - a career path that pays better than the cost to enter it 2) Freedom - Eliminate or reduce your debt. Dont tie yourself down before you even get started. 3) Future - establish a retirement account, and put aside 10 to 20% ideally.. or anything, just start!!
No. Pe, not being there. My only problem was my rent was too high. Too d*** high. So I got rid of it and I downsized. That's simple now. I live alternatively and my life is much better more freedom.
It was, but the government taxes the shit out of everyone!!! You buy a house and they raise the value of it and raise your taxes so high you can't afford it!
Love your videos! Many people are not educated about money. I blew a lot of money paying for useless cars and things to impress others. Now I don’t. I simply save on every paycheck and I don’t care about cars and other bullshit that simply take away all of your income. Thanks for all the information and education!

Started a side-hustle over 20 years ago while keeping my 9-5 and today that side-hustle has grown into a multi-million dollar operation. It can be done but keep that day job to fund your start up and grow out of cash flow instead of debt.
Every paycheck i get, i put it all into savings while leaving barely $100 in my checking for the week. That forces me to go into survival mode. A habit i believe most should adapt.
Just make sure your in a high interest savings account! Most are around 4-5% right now. If your not, your giving away free money due to inflation. Let your $ work for you. Normal savings account is like .5% if that..
1997 moving to a new country. With a 4 month old. I was 29 years old and we were barely making it. I sold infant close at Once Upon a Child and did gigs at grocery stores. The generation my kids are now, I feel very empathetic toward them!
Early onset of social media, I saw my high school friends with all these fancy cars and luxury and lavish vacations and homes. Back then I wished I had those materialistic to show off. It was not until after 35th reunion, I reconnect to one of the popular friend and I saw what dropped my mouth. We passed by a parked Lamborghini on street and she asked me to take a photo.... with her. Next thing I noticed, that photo I took was up on FB. After that, I just ignored social media postings. Most of these postings are fake, just to get noticed. 🤦♂️
Beg to differ my grandson since he was 17 has his own company writing animation programs for people around the world. Now works in Orlando..Universsl studios..earns $5k a month while in college. His sister started selling her music on TH-cam when she was 16 and in addition to being a professional singer right now also works in global equity positions.... At what point did these people think that they were going to become an adult at age 16? Were they not thinking about what they were going to do in 24 months? That's what's crazy.
In Florida, it’s the rising cost of insurance, property tax, rent and groceries . Lifestyle hasn’t changed, in fact I do less and spend less on activities and wants. And still the cost of basic needs are exceedingly hard to catch up with due to the low wages. I’m looking into taking courses to get into another career, I’m hoping that’ll help. Or possibly move out of the state.
In my 20’s I was getting a civil engineering and architecture degree and getting introductory experience while healing from serious abuse and coming out of the military.

It is not too late to get things turned around at 30, but the sense of urgency has to be turned up a notch. Anecdotal, but I had to do a complete restart at 31 after chipping away at a degree for years while working, and then finally finishing a degree in Finance by going full time (including summer) from the age of 30 to 31 and starting from scratch. Some good timing played a part, but just being willing to put ego aside, work some long hours and being willing to learn has gone a long way. Investing wisely while driving a 2001 vehicle from 2011 to 2023 and replacing it with a 2014 vehicle (Toyota) has put us in a good financial position despite the late start. It can be done. Side hustles can also help to build the nest egg.
stop spending!!!!!! Doesnt matter how much you make if you spend it all. when idiots start making more money...now they deserve to buy something and the money is gone.
I'm so happy I made productive decisions about my finances that changed my life forever, hoping to retire next year.. Investment should always be on any creative man's heart for success in life
The key to financial stability is having the right investment suggestions for a diverse portfolio. Many investment failures and losses happen when you invest without proper guidance
I operate a wide- range of Investments with help from My Financial Adviser. My advice is to get a professional who will help you, plan and enhance your management skills. For the record, working with Stacey Macken, has been an amazing experience.
I am also grateful to Stacey, though I started with as low as $1,500 actually because it was my first time and it was successful. She's a great personality in the state...
That’s so true about it’s never too late to start saving money. When COVID happened I had $8k in credit card debt. Now in 2024 I have no credit card debt and over $140k in my 401k … all I. About 5 years

The dude talkin about being broke should motivate you to not want to be broke anymore is straight FACT!!! I grew up poor, was poor majority of my 20's but all the work and effort I put in those years paid off cuz I'm good now at 34. Thank God I didn't give up and lose momentum otherwise I'd still be broke. Let's get rid of the victim mentality and work towards something better for your future because no one has control of it other than you 💯
I work in childcare. Not so smart decision but I have no clue on what I want to do to make more money. At 18 I thought I’d love doing this but at 30 it does not pay the bills. 😢 I’m great with money, budgeting and being frugal I just don’t make much. 😬
I work at a local credit union in the loans department and let me tell you people do not slow down on borrowing the money for cars, HELOC, signature loans, credit cards… all of it; It is scary… yet they complain about inflation and bills; non sense 🙃😢
OK IM CONFUSED HERE.. I see all these people on TH-cam complaining about inflation is too high. Cost-of-living is too high interest rates are too high. Groceries are too high, housing is unaffordable , cars 🚘 are unaffordable but every time I go out on the interstates, they’re always jampacked with travelers 🧳 every time I go to the airport their jam packed like sardines. I just got back from Disney World last week and every park was jam packed like sardines. so if people are hurting so bad and nobody in the economy has any money. How come it sure doesn’t look like it??
Just like that silly cow at the beginning of the video who is unemployed and broke; people feel they are entitled to everything even if they know they can’t afford it, so they’re paying for everything with credit or payday loans!
My thing is I don’t mind working. I actually kinda like working. I’m addicted to it. I don’t like going out this money over the earn money don’t burn enough. I work for myself and trust me people out here working with the jobs. They don’t know how to say me it’s hard to.
When I was younger, I didn't have money. I said, when I get money I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna do that. When finally, got money, I forgot all about all of that. I GOT broke, again. You have to get serious about your money!!!!!
12:23 I do the opposite with my cash. Instead of having a bundle of 1s bookended by 20s, I take my 20s and bookend them with 1s. I never understood why people think looking wealthy is so important when it makes you a target.
One of the visit I’ve seen about making money in your 20s. I was making money in my 20s when the pandemic hit it really killed my finances and I’m 40 and I’m starting to struggle the time I’m 42. I’m buy me a house but that guy saying not everybody in their 20s are screwing around right now because I feel bad for that generation cause it’s way worse than it was when I was 20 years old everybody’s scrapping right now because of them inflation rate.
I get 120k per year from my trust fund and I'm in my 20s lol. I technically never have to work for the rest of my life. But it is extremely boring and life feels purposeless. So I work random jobs. People are extremely hateful and jealous of me if they realize I MAY have more money from them. And I'm not even THAT wealthy
I fe'd up the most in my 30s but always worked and will retire in 2028 early. Unfortunately, the young that is chasing money that is not king. You could die tomorrow. Work hard and live clean, and live in the present please and you'll be alright!!
It seems the parents, teachers, and the public education protocol has failed the younger generations miserably. Life is hard and life throws many obstacles at us. many just seem to refuse to accept that reality. Strange!
I save 400 a month into 401k and it has grown quite a bit in the past 3 years, and I don't even make a lot of money (only 22 an hour). Saving is really important to your future.
Thank you for say that man, Truth 💯 Nobody's coming to save you !! Meaning talking negative about Kamala Harris and thinking Trump is going to save you 🤷🏾♂️
I don't necessarily "pay myself first", but I do put my savings & investments in my budget as necessary expenses. May not be a whole lot, but it's something. I also picked a word for my finance goals: Stewardship. I want to better manage & grow the "little" I have in order to build the habits needed to handle more in the future. ❤😊 Edit: I'm in my mid-20s & just finished school. Based on this economy, I should've been saving in the womb. 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh also! Don't know if you've ever seen his content, but it'd be cool if you reacted to Linval Williams' content! I'll put a link in a separate comment just in case TH-cam flags it (for whatever odd reason). ❤
People use people who have money. If you have money be prepared for people to want to use you for your money. Lots of people will ask you to buy them things & expect you to bring gifts
I tell people I tell pilgrim. I tell people this on my channel. No one's come to save you, the government's not come to help you people worship the government. They watch the idol, they worship and idolize rich famous people and they've never met at least people don't care about you. It's up to you to decide stupid, that's why I tell people, but it's up to them, each of their own, I guess.
I didn’t put myself in this situation. I was laid off due to discrimination against my disabilities and being a veteran. I worked very hard for that company. I was laid off without warning and because I was self employed in 2023 I was not able to get unemployment benefits. I did have savings but do you not understand the economy? Also you live in the Midwest where it is way cheaper than a lot of big cities. I am also a civil engineer and my degree is actually useful. I think some aspects of your channel are impossible which strings viewers along to keep your viewers up. Not all of us had a great childhood and supportive families. You also have a wife that has helped you. I will say that I haven’t quite broken the broke mindset. Just be careful because there are some serious factors involved. I am about to go homeless and my parish (I am Orthodox Christian) has had to pay for temporary housing, my bills and healthcare and food. I am a veteran but I haven’t drawn benefits which can take months. I am also severely sick. I am 37 years old and need to get it together. I have a shit family and childhood. I am also currently in a lawsuit against the former employer and yes I have documents to prove the discrimination. How do I setup consultations with you so I can know what direction to go in a business?
If some young people take constructive advice from #oldschool grand parents they won’t be on social media crying. My grandma told me from an early age, “when you get your wages pay yourself first even if you’re on a low income put as little as £10 or £20 pounds monthly in a saving account, pay the essential bills and put the spare change in a jar.” The spare change is used towards Birthday and Christmas Presents. There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself during the year but make sure you don’t do a ridiculous over spend. My people will always be broke, they are so conditioned to everything overpriced ripped off designer item they see they must have it😂😂😂taking the money you worked hard for and handing over your entire salary to. them for the rest of the month you are broke. God have no time for fools.
I kind of like it when people are peacocking they are pleasant to be around when they’re like that, some stuff might also be a gift 🤷🏻♀️ I try not to Judge the fancy pants
Figure out what you love to do, and be the best at it. Building up a bunch of different skills is critical. Look at Udemy to start! Always invest in yourself first. Great work ethic is still important and will always be important. Don't look like you just came out of a dumpster in an interview. Nobody wants to hire someone that doesn't look the part. Stop spending money you don't have! Simple concepts that work. Educate yourself about money. You will end up just like the people you hangout with. I dumped those idiots that didn't want to get smarter with money and life. It does get better! Don't give up hope.
Idk, I acted an absolute fool in my 20s. Drank, fked, too many concerts to remember, traveled, hundreds of relationships friend or lover. One thing that was constant though is I cooked. I always worked somewhere cooking. Before I knew it my goofy ass was 30. Thing is I had 13 years in at a trade. Set me up for major success when i went all in. Do fkin something. learn something and rack up that xp. Doesnt mean ya cant have a dam good time as well.
I get to one lady that talks about you know the fancy bag stuff like that that stuff never really bothers me but then she says like a $20,000 car well that $20,000 car can make you extra money and four side house you can work at your regular job and use that same carour truck or van to do Lyft Uber Uber eats DoorDash having a new car the benefit I understand they say don’t use the car for investment or nothing, but you can get you a decent car and make really good money.
15:16 it's not too late to make money in 30's. I started a software company age 34, and my brother his own age 39. It is harder later in late 30's from what I observed when my brother started his own company but not impossible if you have someone to mentor you and teach you how to do it.
That woman is crying that she's broke. That's her problemthat's what she does spend months. She don't have, but she's in that car and it's got high car payments. If you don't like what you how you're living, do someone about your situation? Stop going on TikTok and complaining. Well, go ahead. And keep talk and complain. It's content for other people make money off. You current and complain that you're not making money change the situation. Do something about it.
Unfortunately my wife likes the name brand purses that cost about a hundred bucks a pop but that’s pretty much her only vice except for shoe shopping. Fortunately though we are completely debt free and save on average about two thousand a month while driving a 15 year old car.
Hey man, we have a paid for primary residence and have been saving like crazy for rental property. Now we're within sight of purchasing rental property, I was curious on your perspective. I remember seeing videos about the single family homes you bought and was curious why you chose single family over multi-family. I appreciate your advice and your videos!

We don’t even make a lot of money we just don’t spend. Only invest in things that make you money. It’s never too late. It’s true about relationships cousins came and saw our home which is worth 600-750k and they started treating us in a very transactional way. Needless to say we keep them at arms length. It’s quite sad.
How much money did you start investing with
this my financial adviser said i can live on one paycheck and i am seeing that now i have to cut back on the extras...you have to live on bare bones for a bit build that roth and 6 months emergency fund then your golden
How old are you
I started my savings with company match at 29, navy from 19-29 almost no saving but va loan for house.
The key words there is "WE", dual incomes! Imagine trying to buy any home with a single income??? Double the challenge. Even if you save constantly.
So true, "no one is coming to save you"
Well, some people DO have family they can rely on, or some type of safety net. But when you don't have that, you need to focus on several side hustles.....and be able to generate income from different sources...because these firms will let you go in a heartbeat!! There is NO Loyalty - at all
Im broke, unemployed, but I'm going on a vacation trip.
Cant make it up folks. Cant make it up.
Correction: Some people are going broke, not everyone.
