15:09 so true!! Right now working to pay off $10k in credit card debt …. Missing a birthday and the holidays this year, but once I do, I can literally be at $1k or below by January!! This taught me that there’s still things I can cut/move & what I consider a luxury. I still have my subscription services… but I decided to stop eating out as much to help balance that out. Sacrificing my (was supposed to be my first) Halloween trip this year… so I can afford a bigger/better one for all of the holidays next year. JUST started contributing to my 401K, HSA & paying off student loan debt… so I’m chipping away at so much right now. The journey is tough, but so short if you’re persistent.
Credit card debt. I have none. My credit cards pay me. No mortgage. No car payment. No student loan(s). No personal loan(s). No interest paid to others, only interest paid to me...as it should be ;) ! It wasn't always this way, though...once I extricated my head from my a$$, everything improved dramatically.
We gave our children 2 “rules” for life… don’t get married until you’re close to 30 and never mess up your credit score. They’re married now and both home owners and both have excellent credit- so far 😊 so good 🤞 Great advice ❤

My only debt is $178k mortgage on a $400k house. My car is a 2015 Chevy Traverse that I paid cash for. No credit card debt. I am able to save $2k or more into savings every month. I am a 75 year old widow on fixed income and don't live beyond my means. I sleep well at night and it feels great.
Got the opportunity to work overseas with the military as a contractor. With all income sources added together with my base pay, it is $377,000 / year. This entire year, I've paid off ALL of my debt except for house, max'd a hysa E fund with 6 months of expenses, max'd all retirement account and the rest I put on the principal of the house. To treat myself, I will buy a $800 hunting bow when I get back home and never go into debt ever again.
This is cool that you made money but the military is just a big organization to make money by selling weapons to kill people and steal their land/resources. And in being a high end employee in some horrific organization, that allows you to get paid 5x+ more what the average American will ever make? Just so you can buy a bow that costs more than some peoples cars so you can kill innocent animals for fun? Meh
I had 28K of credit card debt. Didn't think too much about it until one day then damn broke and forced me into action. Snowballed the 5 cards it took 26 months, then on to our other debt, which we paid off in full totally debt free and living large on one of our paychecks saving the other.
We don’t hold corporations liable for their bad debt. They survive or go bankrupt. Why do we have to hold such a moral high ground on the personal level when the big money doesn’t do the same? Doesn’t really make sense to me. File bankruptcy if needed.
Everyone has a built-in savior. And that savior is development. Inner development is the only rescuer there is. My credit debt is less than $2,200 and bringing the balances down beautifully.
I used to be that way, even carrying credit card debt despite having the money to pay it all off. Fortunately I ran into Dave Ramsey and his baby steps when I was thinking about buying a new car. Watching enough Ramsey content convinced me to stop carrying credit card debt, which led to spending less, which led to saving more. Also, several years later, and I still drive the same car. Now, I honestly don't worry about debt and don't think about money much. My next step is to become a more informed and active investor.
I don't agree that filing for bankruptcy won't lead to changes in your spending habits. My wife and I filed for bankruptcy in 2008 after we lost our home due to health and financial issues that arose. Since then our finances have improved dramatically and we stopped overspending. Filing for bankruptcy can be beneficial.
I agree! I filed in 2012 and haven’t had a penny of debt since. And I live on half a shoe string 😂. It’s about being tired of “buying” into the bs that’s brainwashed us from birth. Once you get there, living a simple life is bliss 😊
150K in credit card debt with 25% interest? That's more than I paid for my house!! That is insane! I live on 50% of my income. I've ALWAYS had an emergency account. I just don't get how people can get themselves into credit card debt. Its just so far removed from my reality.
When I was around 19 or 20 I got my first credit card. A few months later I used it to buy a laptop because I didn't have one at the time and needed it for college. The idea was to pay for it in 6 installments (that were fairly high for my income at the time), and I guess my head was all over the place with exams so I missed one of them. Two months later I had to go to the bank to find a solution because I was paying way more interest than the amount I owed. The lady at the bank explained everything to me and I think that was my first "financial class" ever. I ended up getting a 24 month loan to pay the credit card in full because even with the loan's interest, I would pay less than trying to pay the credit card debt on my own (my salary was too low back then). It took me TWO YEARS to pay that loan. Two years to think about it every single month. Lesson learned, never missed a payment or paid the minimum ever again 😂
listening to his examples of decisions they make and what they DON'T do - as someone who lived that exact lifestyle when we had our kids 26 years ago - I can say that those decisions pay off big later in life...now, when things are tighter for EVERYONE - we're not so bad...and we could easily live on minimum wage work if we had to do it.... trust this advice - living a rational lifestyle will make you happier long term...the lack of financial stress is worth all the choices we made years ago....be sure to save though...that's important. my mom, when we were young parents, would try to get us to buy a bigger house...we resisted and are now in a position to do whatever we want whenever we want - which we don't do because I hate spending unnecessarily.....our house may only be 1250 sq feet - but it's a single house and perfect size for 2 people (or even 3 to 4) if your kids stay home for a bit.
I use credit cards in place of cash and have no credit card debt. I have $118K+ in total available credit as well as 8 months worth of emergency savings.
The first woman did it all so very wrong. If she wanted a rich husband, she should have married a regular guy in her 20's. A regular guy with prospects and motivation. She should have given him kids, and been the hard working support for his financial success journey. Waiting til you're 40+, infertile, and demonstrably immature and irresponsible, is never EVER going to earn you a rich man. Even if she was stunningly beautiful (and definitely isn't), she'd have hope. That's just not the way things work. She's like the female equivalent of the average looking and average earning man, who holds out for a "hot chick". Doesn't work that way either.
Had a big spend summer this year. Had lots of fun and paid the bill in full every month. But my husband and I looked at each other the other day and decided we should recalibrate and do a penny punch fall. Excited to see the boost in the bank account over the next few months.
CC aren’t for buying things you don’t have the money for now. They are a way of paying for things that you already have the cash to pay with. Set up auto payments with your bank so you never pay interest. Don’t spend more on credit than you have cash in the bank.
The interest rates are so high because its unsecured, that means you don't have to pay them. That's part of the deal the credit card companies agreed too. Yes, your credit will be in the dumpster and it's better to call them and say paying them back is not an option. you can probably settle for 20% of what you owe.
Credit cards for daily living expenses are fine as long as you pay the credit card bill In full each month so you don’t incur any interest expense. The first rule of business or home finance is never turn routine operating or living expenses into intermediate or long term debt. Those expenses need to be paid from current income. If you do otherwise you’re on the road to bankruptcy. It’s like a reverse CD where you’re paying your credit card company 22%+ annual interest on the outstanding balance. The items you bought using the credit card almost certainly didn’t produce income, more like meals and vacations that are distant memories but the debt remains.
We can all dream. "But you can't depend on ANYONE except YOURSELF." Even if your married to a rich OR any man SOME have been found to want the women's money even if the man is WEALTHY this is true GREED HAS NO FINISH LINES IT CONTINUES LIKE AN UN-CUREABLE ADDICTION SO IS GREED.
Professor JJ Buckner : Thanks for todays financial lesson sir. I needed to hear this after recently maxing out 4 high interest credit card debts while trying to live like a baller in this awful economy. Hopefully I will continue to pay off my six figure debt along with my massive student loans.
I only just git in debt last year do to my divorce. Paying it off quickly so i can get back to NEVER using credit cards. Oh and of course NEVER be foolish enough to marry again.
How does bankruptcy work in the USA? Here in Germany, you are debt-free after three years if you file for bankruptcy. During these three years, you have to be disciplined and only consume what is absolutely necessary. Even after three years of being debt-free, you cannot be sure whether you will be able to get further loans from banks, because the banks in question do not like to give loans to people who have not made their installment payments. As I have found out, it is not useful to file for bankruptcy in the USA. Why is that? Greetings from Germany.
This first woman there are other videos about her divorce where she swears she was the victim of all this emotional abuse from her husband and on and on. We've see her fail before and she's back for round two. Hopefully the knockout comes soon.
That lady said they used cc for everything since rent couldn't be paid with cc. Can you imagine if they could put rent on credit cards? It would all be over.
My ex-husband filed for bankruptcy because he had too many illegitimate kids, and he couldn’t pay all of the child support. By divorcing me, and taking my assets, then filing for bankruptcy, he damaged not only me, but the lives of our legitimate kids by creating financial strain on us. He was a total dick toward us, his legitimate family, and his bankruptcy protection hurt us even further, because we had no claim against him.
BTW, he had $45,000 in credit card debt at the time if the divorce. He did not buy $45,000 of anything for us, his legitimate family. We got the crap end of the stick, and you can get that for free.
Why people need a credit card? Can i not save a bunch of money and then keep saving and keep spending less than I saved without using a credit card? So strange to me

Wealthy men don’t want mid partners..
Your every day wealthy man's wife just looks like a regular woman. The majority of regular high earning men aren't with super models.
@@nordette Correct.
Not sure why she's referred to as mid? Because she's not a super model or because she's not rich?
Or because she's in debt and wants a rich man to save her?
My opinion is that 50-99% of all woman are actually wanting the exact same thing, she just recognized it consciously, made it a goal, and admitted it outload.

As more and more woman fall into debt, poverty because jobs pay diddly shit and their biological father doesn't have enough spare cash to support them, there are going to be more and more woman like the one in this video actively seeking a rich man to save them.

Money management came to me as common sense, it was never taught to me. Im blown away by the amount of ppl who dont understand financial management.
They absolutely understand. They just don't want to delay gratification.
It's NEVER lack of knowledge. Even children know how to save money.
Nice picture.
2000 for rent - get something cheaper - that's so far off possible nowadays for so many people.
Credit card debt. I have none. My credit cards pay me. No mortgage. No car payment. No student loan(s). No personal loan(s). No interest paid to others, only interest paid to me...as it should be ;) ! It wasn't always this way, though...once I extricated my head from my a$$, everything improved dramatically.
Same here. I also downsized. I live alone and 6 bedrooms was just dumb. I like my little 720sq ft house now. It's perfect.
We gave our children 2 “rules” for life… don’t get married until you’re close to 30 and never mess up your credit score. They’re married now and both home owners and both have excellent credit- so far 😊 so good 🤞
Great advice ❤
Man, and I couldn't sleep when I had 2 grand in cc debt and took 2 months to pay it off. Couldn't imagine being in these peoples shoes
I owed a little over $4000 and it also bothered me until I paid it off☺️.

I avoid credit card debt like the plague. I don't even wait until the statement is posted and instead pay it off once the transaction processes lol.
People are so damn dumb out there it's scary
Not dumb ... self indulgent.

12:06 This lady is right. Filing for bankruptcy is like choosing liposuction to lose weight instead of changing your diet and exercise routines.
Meh
Im halfway to millionaire status with no debt and I do not have credit or have I ever used a credit card.....let that sink in
What is your credit score?

Good accurate commentary. enjoyed it.
I had 28K of credit card debt. Didn't think too much about it until one day then damn broke and forced me into action. Snowballed the 5 cards it took 26 months, then on to our other debt, which we paid off in full totally debt free and living large on one of our paychecks saving the other.
Suddenly my $3000 debt looks much better! :))
Debt is sad - I think plastic debt was one of the MAJOR ISSUES when making the switch from cash to plastic
The first lady just shed some light on the Delusion of some people😒🤣🤣
We don’t hold corporations liable for their bad debt.

You just gave away a billion dollar movie idea 😂

14k in debt is not enough to marry just to have him pay off your debt.
You know what they say, if you marry for money, you earn every penny!
I have a friend whose mother is 94 yrs old, she has filed bankruptcy 3 times in her life and has nothing!
I'm 70 I guess I have to believe if you create the debt it's yours to pay
150K in credit card debt with 25% interest? That's more than I paid for my house!! That is insane! I live on 50% of my income. I've ALWAYS had an emergency account. I just don't get how people can get themselves into credit card debt. Its just so far removed from my reality.
It was probably removed from their reality too until they unexpectedly lost a parent in addition to dealing with a lawsuit.
How much is in your emergency account? Ballpark figure?

You preaching real good Hermano.. it can B DONE 💪👍
listening to his examples of decisions they make and what they DON'T do - as someone who lived that exact lifestyle when we had our kids 26 years ago - I can say that those decisions pay off big later in life...now, when things are tighter for EVERYONE - we're not so bad...and we could easily live on minimum wage work if we had to do it....
trust this advice - living a rational lifestyle will make you happier long term...the lack of financial stress is worth all the choices we made years ago....be sure to save though...that's important.
my mom, when we were young parents, would try to get us to buy a bigger house...we resisted and are now in a position to do whatever we want whenever we want - which we don't do because I hate spending unnecessarily.....our house may only be 1250 sq feet - but it's a single house and perfect size for 2 people (or even 3 to 4) if your kids stay home for a bit.
They don't want to wait. They want it all now.
Had a big spend summer this year. Had lots of fun and paid the bill in full every month. But my husband and I looked at each other the other day and decided we should recalibrate and do a penny punch fall. Excited to see the boost in the bank account over the next few months.
How do you have that big of a credit card limit? Never get anything more than a couple of hundred dollars.
There is an old movie called Confessions of a Shopaholic.
It reminds me of these people
"Butterface looking for rich guy" If only they were THIS honest.
CC aren’t for buying things you don’t have the money for now. They are a way of paying for things that you already have the cash to pay with. Set up auto payments with your bank so you never pay interest. Don’t spend more on credit than you have cash in the bank.
I love that Disney movie concept. 😂
The interest rates are so high because its unsecured, that means you don't have to pay them. That's part of the deal the credit card companies agreed too. Yes, your credit will be in the dumpster and it's better to call them and say paying them back is not an option. you can probably settle for 20% of what you owe.
I never had a credit card, 30 yrs later debt free. Haha
The movie is called confessions of a shop-aholic 😂😂😂😂
Credit cards for daily living expenses are fine as long as you pay the credit card bill
In full each month so you don’t incur any interest expense.
I am always shocked that these people get in so much CC debt.
14k ain't even that much to owe, I paid about that much off this year in less than 6 months.
I clicked thinking this was Chase Daniel talking about Dept.

Don't just buy cheap food. Don't sacrifice health over short term saving of money, that's just going to cost you your health and more money later.
That lady said they used cc for everything since rent couldn't be paid with cc. Can you imagine if they could put rent on credit cards? It would all be over.
You actually can. It just depends on your leasing office. Mine does.
11:20 explain what you mean by “may potentially be coming soon” lol
Hello? How about online shopping? Kinda need a card to do that, and why don't the credit card companies lower the interest rates?
Thats a big heart to fill worth 14k
