- The UST Singers performing One Day More from the Classic Hit Musicale Les Miserables by Claude Michael Schoenberg at the Winner's Concert of the 2002 Festa Musicale International Choral Competition in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
Glad Marcia is in this video. Unforgettable mezzo voice!
UST Singers, you are the best!
wow. just, wow.
completely honestly, i (a reasonably emotionally sound young man) burst into tears watching this. you do an incredible job of a very moving piece of music, and you brought back some incredible memories and feelings from being involved in this production several years ago. special congratulations to the young man who voiced marius, and the young woman singing eponine's part.
well honestly I got to hear the UST singers last year. And frankly, a powerful choir shouldn't have to rely on critics for their worth. The act of singing is in itself a risk, but that is what makes it alive. To rely on the past records would only make the choir stagnate. I am happy to say, that many of my friends find them very challenging as a choir. I at least saw them at the PhilAm life. And for sheer power, bravo.
Beautiful. The audience loved them. I wish I could have been there to hear it. You tube vidios NEVER do sound justice. Well done.
Very very impressive, this group is just awesome is so many ways, everything was right on!
Goodness there are so many good choirs and singers from the Philippines. The talent there is mind boggling.
Just had this choir 'recommended' for me and am delighted to have found them. Will certainly search out more of their repertoire !
Amazing Performance, you bring joy to all your listeners, its absolutely Great!!! a new fan from Hollywood CA
you make us Filipinos proud!!! filipinos are great singers! hi joan cano! you still have that amazing soprano voice doing Cosette's part.
that was fabulous
Powerful. VERY well done.
French History with a Filipino touch. Good job guys. As a fan of this musical, I am so proud of my kababayans to have done such a beautiful rendition of this amazing song.
SUPERB.
Wow! What sweet tones! Yup, I'm impressed.
Nakakainis kayo, pinaiyak nyo ko!! Ang galing nyo!
One of the million reasons that I am so proud to be Pinoy.
Goosebumps!!! Ang galing! =)
love the harmonies!!!
Amazing! Bravo!
beautiful... beautiful
It makes me cry...really
to anohbey: you just dont know how it feels to become part of the ust singers - and you can never understand because you never been in it. the ust singers may not be known here in the philippines but definitely they're equally respected and well known in europe and in the states, even more known than any other choir locally. being the only choir that travels the WORLD the longest, no wonder why they're more known internationally than locally. You don't know it cause you're just a local.
Ang galing talaga ng Pinoy!!
Excelent Eponine And Enjourlas.
galing galing talaga!
by the way that Lord's prayer they sang was wonderful at the start. Could you put that up here? Pretty please?
tingin ko pinatern nila sa original musical... galing pa din...
philippines stand up! ang galing wow
(part 1) You are wrong, you really don't what you are talking about.
Perhaps I should ask when and where you have listened to them. The video is showing the UST Singers in 2002, they had been pure perfection in these years. Don't know how they sing today, different times, different singers, and so there may be periods of learning. But for minimum 10 years they have been travelling around as a world class choir, including in this concert!
1:24 that Enjolras is perfect
Man I envy all the people watching live.
Great performance, I just wished the microphone was working for the guy singing Javert's part.
i love you so damn much UST Singer! What is the meaning of UST? anyone want to tell it to me?
UST is a school in the Philippines meaning University of Santo Tomas
(part 2) Plus: They have been elected "Choir of the world" (best choir world-wide) in 1995, they could have won this competition nearly every year. Don't compare this world-class choir with a local choir, don't be ridiculous.
@ austerenight - did you mean Marius/Cosette? They're the ones doing a duet here.
You are definetly right, Applause should be given at the end of the performance, it is ruining flow of the rendition. To avoid this it should be announce at the beginning of the concert to reserve the applause after each performance. Thank you.
The vocals were fantastic! The end got kinda wonky, especially with the clapping, but over all it was great!
panalo po ba Singers dito?
mayflower: besides, you don't own this site and this is the internet where everyone has the opportunity to say his piece.
the clapping sort of ruined it, which is bad because this is excellent
Marius sounds like Michael Ball!
the valgean part is hard.... pero ang galing dito...
sorry the only least noticeable thing i think is the tempo at near end. but what the heck.. it's great from beginning to start.
from beginning to start...

haha, hindi sya hirap na hirap. musicale ang dating ng performance na to, kaya it requires emotion. gusto mo panoorin mo yung vid ng les miserables para makita mo kung bakit ganito ang emotions nila... tsk...
soround sound lols
i was not even responding to you mayflower. next time, make sure you are properly reacting to the right person so that you don't make an utter fool of yourself. with all the tours they've done, they shouldn't need a professional marketer anymore. it's just that they don't click to much with their audiences i suppose. they sound superior technically, but lack the x-factor--an intimate connection with their audience.
you are the one who does not know what you are talking about. such naive adulation. if the ust singers is perfection personified, then why are the madrigal singers better known in world circles than ust? you also said "they could have won," the operational word being "could." They could have won, but they DIDN'T. i've seen them several times in the 90's and twice in 2003 and 2004.
of course they don't.. for me, they sound better.. but doesn't matter i love UPSA...
should do at least ung medyo kapareho dahil hindi talaga pwedeng hindi ma-compare sa original. eh di ba ung ensemble ng les miz eh chorale singing ang approach sa songs? - hindi choral singing ang approach sa songs ng les mis... sorry. I've watched the play twice sa London at The Hague.. at hindi choral ang approach. I don't think there's something wrong in this performance, at yung sinasabi mong OA at Pop ang delivery, try to listen objectively. Thanks!
their technique is good, but something is amiss. they don't sound half as good as the singing ambassadors.
the marius was great! but the valjean was.. not.
an exaggeration. there is no such thing as "a choir cannot be better." of course there will be something better every time. there is no such thing as perfection. besides, some local choirs are definitely better than the ust singers. the ust singers may be technically good but there is something lacking. i cannot place my finger on it. i've seen them mayflower live. i wouldn't hazard this comment if i hadn't.
dear lord this is just terrible!
