      Thank you! The stain also has a mild preservative in it, so hopefully the cedar logs will last a few extra years, too. I look forward to watching more cabin videos on your channel soon!

    Great job on the little cabin, looks amazing. I was laughing at the expiry dates on what was in the cupboards. Looks like a very peaceful place away from all traffic and hoards of people. My kind of place.

      Thank you! The expirations dates were entertaining, as well as seeing what the previous owner liked to keep out there. It's an extremely peaceful place! I can't wait to get out there again, especially considering I'm living just outside of Tokyo now. Talk about a crowded city 😝 Thank you for watching and commenting!

    “Marking your territory all around and moth balls will help with wildlife, just a recommendation! Awesome video, I hope to do the same if I can find a place for sell!

    Found a tip years ago… in bear country have your door open out not in, makes it harder for them to break in

    • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats a great tip, thank you! I'll have to look at the feasibility to changing that on my next trip. Thank you for watching!

    That branch tool, is that a Katanaboy brand? About $250.00? That thing is sharp!!
    Something about that mre looked wrong, was it old, or new that you recently purchased? Maybe it was the sounds of the food plopping out of the package.....I don't know... Have a nice weekend, Thank you for sharing.

    • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a Katanaboy 650, usually about $250 USD. Silky is a Japanese brand, so I buy all my silky saws in Japan for much cheaper. They're great saws! The MRE was past the expiration date by about 1 year, but it still tasted good. I traded for it while I was in Korea in 2021. Admittedly, it doesn't look or sound appetizing. But I do love kimchi🙃 Thank you for watching!

      Much appreciated! I'll film as much content as possible every trip up there and hopefully be able to release several more videos this year. We hope you continue enjoying the journey! Thank you for watching

  • @driverguy7
    @driverguy7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So, like if a person sharpened the tip and back of the Silky Katanaboy saw, and lengthened the handle a couple feet, maybe lock the blade in place, that could be an awesome weapon against a charging bear, or a raging moose, you might be able to hack into it an slice away and all...... I've watched too much stargate with their staff weapons and all...... oh well.

      This is a great idea that requires experimentation and testing. Maybe it's time to put all of that childhood backyard stick sword fighting and bow stave training to good use

    If you cut the stumps at ground level, you wont have to spend the next few decades walking around each one. And if you ever decided to remove, dig out, or burn them it will have much less material to deal with.

    • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      You make a great point! I left the stumps at chair height, as they make excellent places to sit and enjoy the view. That being said, they may get cut down or removed at some point in the future. Thank you for watching!

      @OhashiOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really is! I plan to improve the view even more on my next trip up there. There were birds nests in and around the thick aspen and birch brush blocking a lot of the real view that we didn't want to disturb. Thank you for watching!

      This isn’t an airport, you don’t have to announce your departure. Also, the cabin was already built.
