I was between the 2 and went with the MM300! I figured that down the line I’ll always be able to get an SJE variant but was worried that the longer I push off the SLA, the more risk to discontinuation
Very cool. Always enjoy a long term review. I like the answer to what makes a Marinemaster watch is “whatever the f- we decide to put the words Marinemaster on the dial…” 😎 That’s a bit badass. It’s definitely is a bit pricey for me. I’ll have to settle for the 62mas AliExpress Homage I have. Which I love BTW. Thanks again!
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
You are paying also for 6L caliber which is maybe the best thin caliber in the world in the price range of 4k,infact this caliber is so good that Swiss movement maker Soprod adopted variation of 4L and 6L caliber,it’s imperative for 6L to be regulated and you will have 1sec per day watch just like my King Seiko.
@@degenerateWA I will bet you didn’know how everyone today is copying Seiko legendary 6139 caliber which have vertical clutch and which now manny are copying today from Tag Heuer,Piguet,JLC,Breitling,Omega and manny others.
I like this watch…it oozes enough it has a lot going for it…unique bracelet, anthracite dial with engraved horizontal lines(dynamic), for me it’s the case and lugs!!!! Thin mid case, semi lyre lugs!(think omega lugs), pierced lugs, colored matched date window at 4:30. I think it’s a sleeper watch…I’ll take it
Definitely a very nice watch . Yes it’s a Marine Master watch and now the there’s two more newer models that say Marine Master on the dial that are 300 meters water resistant but are air divers and not saturation divers . I recently purchased the previous SLA047J1 Marine Master 300 watch that pretty much are the exact same as the 001 original and 017 but upgraded with a domed anti reflective sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel insert. Oddly enough it’s doesn’t say Marine Master on the dial lol 😂 . I’m not going to criticize your watch or the latest version of the Marine Master but I do believe to the true MM300 loyalists these newer versions are tamed or watered down examples of what the Marine Master watch once was .
Does this dial of the SJE101 give a vibe of the SJE093 or the SLA017 dial. The indices look pronounced on the SJE093 and SLA017. How do you find the indices on this variant?
@SpaceG95 right? At least with the car the complaints come from actual drivers. Here I guarantee you the "that's not a Marinemaster" crew are 99% desk divers.
Sure it has its flaws but its such a good looking watch. The dial seems almost smokey or slate colored. I feel you on the bezel crown issue and it seems like something they should have picked up on. This almost seems like a variation of the 62MAS rather than a homage. So regarding that $2000...I did some math and found that if you owned it for eighth months so far it comes to 243 days of ownership. That means that lovely Seiko cost you $8.23 a day so far. That is absolutely nothing compared to the joy it's given you. What can you buy with 8 bucks these days anyway...
How is the movement performing after 8 months?? İ consider buying this watch and your experience with the movement is important to me , thanks for reply
I have the SJE093. I love it, BUT relative to today's dimensions, it's small. For most folks, it's not visually stunning enough.. unless you love the simplicity of the 62 MAS design, which I do. I'm besotted with the 62 MAS design. I think it's the kind of watch that needs that type of devotion to really appreciate it. It will not be everybody's cup of tea. But it sure is mine!!
Beautiful watch , looks great on your wrist, but those 2 bracelets at the end of the video are horrendous lol . Put the watch on a nice tropic rubber strap or a waffle strap , a Seiko diver looks best on a rubber strap ! Also how the avg accuracy over a period of time ?
No problem adding the marinemaster name. These are really nice if you don’t pay retail. But why TF did Seiko choose to leave it off the watch that was the marinemaster? The MM300 marinemasterates in this divers face.
Two reasons we get a watch, it’s accuracy in movement or how it looks, right? I see watches over $2k that are +25/ -15 seconds a day accuracy and still people think that’s a great investment…..fascinating.
@dustinr16 their clasp game is very week. Even their stamped clasps were perfectly fine compared to these ones. Did you find the lack of ceramic bezel affected the experience for you?

Next time you feel like dropping a grand on a watch, you should check out a Circula Proflight. The Circula and the green dial Pagani rip-off of the Longines Spirit have become my all time favorites. Maybe, just maybe I have found watch nirvana.
To be honest, I would rather buy a black titanium square and I would have something accurate. But at least, for a 2 grand you're getting the aligned bezel which is a surprise for Seiko, and a drilled lugs.....that's something is it? Nice dial, very poop date placement.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.
Fingers crossed for me that the prices for these drop dramatically as it’s such a nice watch a possible one and done for many.
Another banger from Seiko. I lean more toward the MM300 aesthetic, but this I like this one as well.
For sure. I think would also lean more towards their traditional styling, but I could not resist this one.
