This is wonderful and very inspiring to prioritise my needs too as I am also highly highly sensitive. Thank you for sharing and yes we will be here when you get back. Enjoy your holiday! 💖🙏💕
Don't feel guilty about wanting to take time off! I work in a school - specifically so that I can have off most major holidays and summer (about 11 weeks off) 🙂
I'm from the group of people who watch and enjoy all your videos, but never write. I am writing to say that you have been very important in my personal growth process. I would like to thank you for everything, say that you are an incredible person and wish you all the best! If one day you come to Brazil, I hope I can meet you in person and be able to repay a little of everything you've done for me. You are really the only person I really follow on social media! I respect you too much!
One year into my burnout and i am finally accepting how much rest I need (A LOT). I constantly feel guilty and lazy. It's lessening so much and thank you for the videos. They help so much. Rest as much as you need. You definitely deserve it and society does not get to dictate how many weeks off a year you should have.
Amen, it’s really hard to not feel guilty for resting in our world where we have even normalized under sleeping chronically. Like 6 hrs or less. I know people who brag about this like they are superior. But not only do I think many people pay the price with their health down the line, more importantly we simply aren’t all the same, but it can be hard (for me) to accept when everyone around me seems to be able to do double without crashing and burning!
I have never understood this. People around me constantly talk about only sleeping 5.- 6 hours or sometimes less, i just don't get how they keep going all day. I am utterly wrecked after a full day of work of i don't get a quality 8 -9 hour sleep
Please do consider taking another rest in September, or whenever you sense yourself needing one, in order to balance out the year for yourself! ❤❤ So glad both you and your partner are making it a priority to look out for yourselves and each other! ☺️❤️
My husband once told me “I’ve never seen anyone work so hard to relax”. I didn’t get what he meant until after he died. I had worked for over 40 years in the same field, mostly with customers and later in middle management with employees and corporate management. I loved my job so much, but it was stressful. Even when I was on vacation I didn’t totally relax. After my husband died, I worked for another year and a half while not taking any time for myself until I got sick. I retired a year early at 64 to focus on getting better. It was the best decision I could have made! True, I’ve had to learn to live on less money, but my needs are pretty simple, so it works for me. I watch you because you remind me to take care of myself even in retirement, ie not sitting around all day watching You Tube videos, etc. You are so right to take the two month breaks during the year along with any other time you need to take care of yourself. It is difficult enough being a HSP, let alone working through burnout and/or illness. I think that anyone who watches you for the same reasons as I do will say the same thing. Enjoy your time off to the fullest, Vera.
I love this non scripted sit down and chat video's of you! I think it's because I feel your personality shines through even more, which is lovely :) For me the algorithm doesn't play any role, because I only consume video's that are in my subscriptions and I check those everytime I open the TH-cam app, which is daily, haha! So I never miss video's I like.
You're an inspiration to HSPs! Its so important to make time to rest and take a break wherever possible and your authenticity in sharing your own struggles and successes with that is both touching and validating. And in addition, self-care is also channel care, as by taking the breaks and rest you need you are ensuring that this channel we all love is sustainable into the future and created from a place of joy and inspiration.
I'm so happy I found your channel. I love watching your videos. Definitely do not feel guilty and enjoy your break. I understand you 100%. Learning so much about myself from you, so thank you. We will be here for you when you get back🙏
I think we are so conditioned to be on the 'go' all the time and rest is looked down upon. I believe that taking a rest before your body decided to do it for you is so crucial. You are involved in an immensely energy consuming job (and dong an awesome job) so taking time away should not feel guilty but natural as breathing. your fans are and will be here 🙂
I'm realising , at 73 ,the wisdom of taking breaks BEFORE I'm exhausted and cut myself / bump myself / burn something ( including myself !) Thanks for all your wise words , Vera !❤😊
Enjoy your March break!,I personally think our society places too much emphasis on productivity and not enough on rest/ recovery/ relaxation. I know you’ve spoken of this before. Life has its ups and downs and we need to be able to schedule breaks as needed.
Your videos are like my comfort space. I don't watch them regularly, but whenever I am feeling low, I always come to your channel and binge watch your videos. They always remind me of what's truly important in life. And that usually calms my nerves. Thank you for putting out good vibes 🧡 as a new minimalist, I know it's not easy, externally as well as internally. The feeling of being the odd one out in a world that breathes consumerism and materialism, is tough as hell. So, kudos to anyone trying to transition into a carefully curated life (yes, that's how I define minimalism 😊)
Vera, you are so genuine and sweet. Thank you for making videos-no matter how many you put out, lol. I have learned so much from you, and you honestly just get me in the right head space to create an atmosphere of calm and positivity. I've battled depression my whole life, and while I know I always will, I feel like you've given me some tools to fight it the rest of my life. Much love from the middle of the United States in Iowa. Have a great time off. ♥
I relate to you. I had a complete burn out two years ago. Taking a break is a priority and you deserve it. I hope you had a great break and that you are charged again. I had a lot of stress in my mind and body. I ended up becoming a meditation teacher after I saw how poweful it can be to recover me from all of that and how happy I am sharing this gift with other people. I am offering free deep rest meditation sessions in April and May. I hope I see you in one or more of them.
Vera, thank you so much for this video. Just like you, I was afraid to take some weeks off in March. I felt I really needed that rest but colleagues were asking me where I would go during my holidays. I feel like it is seen as abnormal to just stay at home and rest during holidays. All my colleagues always seem to have lots of energy and use their holidays to travel around the world, while I just take holidays to recharge. Your videos really helped me to accept myself as a HSP, listen to my body more and not to compare myself with others. Thank you for your work, and enjoy your well-deserved holiday!☺
I am so glad you are taking time off and you don't need to apologize to us fans at all! Everyone deserves time off and vacation, whether you're an employee or self employed. I have never been self employed but I think I'd have a hard time creating the structure for dedicated time off- I'd probably just keep working all the time, like you did for so long after starting the channel. I'm happy that the channel is at a point where you are able to take that time off and still bounce back. I get notifications when you post videos so I won't miss a thing when you are back from your well-deserved break!
I definitely need to take your advice and start making time for self care. As a single mom who has her son 95% of the month it's really hard to do that. I know my son will have a better mom if I do so. 💙
I will actively look for your videos, don't worry! I really love your content. You're so relatable. I think we would get along really well in real life. Take care of yourself, Vera! 🙏❤
So pleased you are prioritising your wellbeing. I really needed to hear a lot of this, as I can try to push myself too hard too. I took 3 months off sick last year with burnout and I learnt a lot about the importance of keeping myself well.
I'm also a highly sensitive and I totally understand where you are coming from in all the things you share in this video. I really struggle with energy issues and feelings of overwhelm. And as you say, however much you want to take the time for self care and withdrawing into quietness for a bit, when there are things that have to be done, it isn't always easy to do that. Modern life is so frenetic and relationships with people, (not my partner who is there for me, like your boyfriend is), but co-workers, neighbours, other family members and the like, can create stress and place overwhelming demands on me too. I found your videos on creating boundaries helpful, but it can still be challenging. You are totally doing the right thing, giving yourself this time off. Life is for living fully and that includes periods of rest, of peace and of joyful play, away from our work. The work ethic has reigned supreme for so long, but I think the pandemic brought about an awareness of what is important in life for health and happiness. Enjoy your month off and I will look forward to seeing you again in April. And Vera ..... we love you too 🤗❤️xx
I hope you have a lovely and relaxing break. And I just double checked notifications to make sure I receive "All" (because if we just click the bell icon, the algorithm only gives us notification of "some" of your videos it thinks we want.
Enjoy your break and travels. You are lucky that if you work for a company in the Netherlands you get 5 weeks off here in the US you are lucky to get 2 weeks off and most people dont take a vacation. I think that is so sad because it just helps to recharge and give you a break from it all. Chai tea is the best tea on this planet just my personal opinion. The spices are warming and as you said it smells and tastes sooo good. Thanks for sharing.
I’m so happy for you that you have the strength to do what is best for you regardless of what “they say”. Take whatever time you need it’s your life. Also I completely agree and say there no such thing as ‘laziness’ so glad to hear someone else say this.
Enjoy your time off Vera! I feel your words, it's not alway easy to do the right/healthy thing for yourself. Thanks for sharing and inspiring us with this! 💐
You must take care of you and what you need. Having to much to do can burn one out fast specially if one has the idea they need to do it all. I have had burn out a couple times it's terrible. Take care.
I applaud your decision to take the break and listen to your body, definitely something we tend to forget. I used to fill my time with activities that require mental power for the sake of productivity, two times I got really close to burn out (or I had it, I'm not sure). I was getting close to a third time at the end of February then I remembered my goal of reach a healthy weight this year and paused a language course I was taking, because I was feeling behind but also because I'm going to take a course in uni this semester and combine to work adding something more feels like too much. This time instead I fill my time with movement activities, walking twice a day in addition to go to the gym three times a week in addition to the yoga classes I've been taking since 2021. Crazy thing is now I'm procrastinating way less, barely looking at my phone and I don't feel like I'm not being productive with helps with my anxiety.
Thanks for sharing. You have made me realize that I am highly sensitive and adjust my life. I am so glad to have my own office and even though I will have to share it, the person is there maybe once or twice a month. Today I had to close the door to the outside noise happening so I could feel calm enough to focus on what needed to be done.
Hi V, Im so glad you taking your time off. You definitily need a break. Many people watching videos think is easy. However, its not. Im not content creator. But, when we make it look natural people perceive as easy. We will definitily be here when you get back. Maybe help you? If we watch your old videos? So, you can still earn and now you have art. Hope the sells of art helps you earn little more without you place constant physical work as much as videos. Bcs, art you work once its done you keep selling. This was a awesome idea and move. Enjoy have rest and see you soon ah by the way we in South Africa we are entering Autumn/Fall. Thanks
No need to do any reply! I'm proud of you for living what you say, and from one hsp to another you have a life long fan and you have changed my life for the better. You can guarantee I will be continuing to watch and share all your videos in the future! God calls us to rest for a reason. Love you friend! 🙏💕🙏
Love that your taking some time for yourself…. Self care ❤ We will be here when you come back, and look forward to your content…. Adore you Vera ❤❤❤❤ I love when I get your newsletter
So happy Vera that you'll be taking some well deserved time to care for yourself! I know the feeling of being guilty for when we want/need to take time off, but if we don't our body/mind will force us to take it. At my job I work on-call for a week once a month and I schedule an early out on the day after the week so that I can give myself a break from doing. Will miss you; however I know you'll be back rested! Take care and enjoy in the being ❤️
I can definitely agree with the need to take breaks often. It has been a hard thing for me to accept about myself especially when it feels as though society is moving on without you and the deadlines don't stop approaching. Thank you for your honesty always. I'm enjoyed this impromptu version of you :)
Hi Vera! 😃❤ Wishing you a wonderful rest period! It's great that you are looking after yourself, and I will be looking forward to your videos when you return 😃❤ Thank you so much for all that you do it has made SO much difference in my life, thank you again 😃❤
You are not lucky with the weather going on at the moment, but I really hope you can and will enjoy your time. Madrid should be great and I hope you will definitely visit the Prada museum. Take care of yourself and see you in April ❤
Taking a break before it gets really serious is so important. To know when to stop. I am learning that step by step as i have experienced some burn outs in 2022. Take care of yourself
Vera, I love looking at your videos.❤️ I appreciate your genuineness and I especially like when I learn something new, Iike that video when you talked about 'white space'. We all need a break somtimes. Enjoy your time off and your trip🤗🤗
Thank you for teaching us that burned out is real… I am taking a a three months off from my job of 22 years, I’m in my 3rd day, and trying not to feel guilty. But you made me realize that I have to take care of myself first. Take all the time you need. See you soon.
Vera you're entitled to take a break you don't have to fill guilty .we love you and will be waiting for you when you come back enjoy your time off. Sending hugs ♥️
Taking a break is essential for mental health. It wasn't until watching your burnout video that I realized why I had a high fever and was constantly ill for 3 years after finishing a hard job. I learned from this experience. Now I listen to my body better and try to avoid this condition again. It's worth it. You should only feel guilty if you didn't care of yourself♥️ PS: Being exhausted isn't also good for your business, we can feel your lovely energy and vibes😊
Nice video. Yes Vera! You are so worth it and give so much. Take care! I will stay here watching other videos you made. Don't stress back. Hope you can rest a lot and have a lovely break. ❤️
And (commenting a third time now😂) I think I might consider taking a break from my job as well which I've been indescisive about for past 2 months or so! Thank you Vera!🌷
Very nice channel. Like what you said about more being than doing. It is quite amazing capturing you, Vera. Your intentional , self aware tactics are inspiring. Accepting yourself as you are. That's brilliant. Wish you success as a full time you tuber/vlogger. Please, don't feel guilty for leisure spent time. You have the right. You are very different from American or British, but different is not any less. I like your concepts. Very refreshing. You make other people feel better about themselves.
Hi Vera! Thank you for taking the time to do this video. I really appreciate it when you inform us of what is going on in your life and on your channel. Obviously, I wish you a very happy, fulfilling and relaxing month! I have 2 remarks about guilt and being an HSP. Guilt destroys joy in one’s heart, puts a heavy burden on one’s shoulders, kills hope in one’s soul. It literally sucks the life out of us! I used to feel almost constantly guilty, that’s why I can tell you this. One thing that have helped me tremendously to keep guilt at bay is to ask myself these questions whenever I felt guilty: “In this situation or with this person, what belongs to me? And what doesn’t belong to me?” Facing the truth, facing my responsibility in a given situation or with certain people, and discerning what was NOT my fault, my responsibility was so freeing! I know that it may seem simple, but for me, it was and still is the way I deal with guilt, whatever the source of that guilt may be. About being an HSP. I learned just a few years ago that I was an HSP. It was eye opening! So many things finally explained! One day, though, I was feeling so tired of being so sensitive all the time that I whished to loose my sensitivity. Immediately, in my mind, I “saw” a beautiful scenery… in black and white! It was awful! So I understood that my sensitivity is what gives “colors” to my life, what helps me see beauty, notice the little details few people see, have empathy for those who suffers, etc. After that experience, I accepted being an HSP and realized that it is truly a gift to cherish and share! I hope my words could have helped you! Enjoy your break! 🌷💙☺💕
Will miss your videos. Enjoy your break, I hope you get plenty of time for yourself and your family, take care looking forward to seeing you back in April.
Have a wonderful time in Milan! You are so kind ~ always encouraging us to take care of ourselves. You are giving us the best example of this when you take care of you 💕 See you again soon
Rest and refresh yourself, without feeling guilty. You deserve it and can lead by example. Remember you can’t fill from an empty cup . We look forward to seeing you back when you’re ready and refreshed.
Ahhh, both you and Sarah! That's ok, you guys have worked so hard. Rest is very important. I do online retail and after Christmas season I felt burnt out as well, I think I spent most of January like a zombie. LOL Notifications give me anxiety, but I I always look at my saved YTers and check back on channels for new videos if YT doesn't recommend. See you soon!
Dear Vera, I am on the same journey of working less to respect my high sensitivity. Thank you for sharing your experience and your thoughts! It is inspiring and reassuring. I do wish you a wonderful spring break!
I only put notifications for channels of family members who live too far and TH-cam helps us stay connected. WITH the exception of this channel. I always have my notifications on for this channel because the things you create are better than therapy. Just like this video, a reminder to slow down. I just moved in a storm from one city to another and I didn't take time off work. I'm still in the middle of moving and yet I'm working because I don't want to miss certain deadlines. BUT this just reminded me to take a few days off work if not to rest than just to unpack and settle into my new tiny rental☺ Enjoy your time off 🖤💃
Thank you for being here, my friends! 🥰🤗 See you in April!!!
This is wonderful and very inspiring to prioritise my needs too as I am also highly highly sensitive. Thank you for sharing and yes we will be here when you get back. Enjoy your holiday! 💖🙏💕
Great idea!
Don't feel guilty about wanting to take time off! I work in a school - specifically so that I can have off most major holidays and summer (about 11 weeks off) 🙂

Don't worry, we'll be here for you! You're precious ❤️ enjoy your time off!
Life can burn anyone out. It is great for all to do self care and accept the fact we are human.

Yes I will be with you, now and in the future!
Hi my dear! Take care of yourself and thanks a lots for Charing all your videos 😍🙏 see you soon 🙏
Happy to see you taking a break. Thinking about doing this myself even though I am retired.
Really love your natural nonscripted videos. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful break and come back well rested. Enjoy Madrid. xx

What does she need a break from, if there’s barely one video per week made? 😂 She may be 90 years old or something
Hi V,
Im so glad you taking your time off.
Thanks
Good for you for taking a break! Enjoy ❤see you when you get back

What does she need a break from, if there’s barely one video per week made? 😂
Take care and enjoy in the being ❤️
You're so right, thank you Maria 🤗🌺 I think that's great, that you schedule rest for yourself after being on-call for a week!!
So nice to see you taking a break again. Taking breaks from things is so healthy and good. I'm glad you're doing alright.
Yes, feeling in desperate need of more time alone & rest but guilty for having that need... that describes me to a tee!
Me too.. i worked.. worked.. now i need a break.. Enjoy your time off Vera😍
Vera, you're setting a good example for us all, that it's ok, (good, even!) to take breaks, allowing and not feeling guilty about it! Take care!
You are not lucky with the weather going on at the moment, but I really hope you can and will enjoy your time. Madrid should be great and I hope you will definitely visit the Prada museum. Take care of yourself and see you in April ❤
Thanks for the recipe, and enjoy your break!
Love this vlog style! I would love to see more videos like this, your day-to-day self care. Have a nice break!
Vera you're entitled to take a break you don't have to fill guilty .we love you and will be waiting for you when you come back enjoy your time off. Sending hugs ♥️
People need time to recharge. Take your time, we are here to support you!
Taking a break is essential for mental health. It wasn't until watching your burnout video that I realized why I had a high fever and was constantly ill for 3 years after finishing a hard job. I learned from this experience. Now I listen to my body better and try to avoid this condition again. It's worth it. You should only feel guilty if you didn't care of yourself♥️
PS: Being exhausted isn't also good for your business, we can feel your lovely energy and vibes😊
What does she need a break from, if there’s barely one video per week made? 😂
It's none of your business.
Relax and enjoy your time off. You've earned it. X

And (commenting a third time now😂) I think I might consider taking a break from my job as well which I've been indescisive about for past 2 months or so! Thank you Vera!🌷
Enjoy your break Vera. You deserved. Love your channel. I’ll be waiting here when you come back 🥰
Very nice channel.
Glad that you’re looking after yourself! Will definitely look for you in April!
See you when your back. Take care of yourselves first !!
Have a wonderful time in Milan! You are so kind ~ always encouraging us to take care of ourselves. You are giving us the best example of this when you take care of you 💕 See you again soon
Vera, enjoy your time off! Happy Spring!!!🥰
Rest and refresh yourself, without feeling guilty. You deserve it and can lead by example. Remember you can’t fill from an empty cup . We look forward to seeing you back when you’re ready and refreshed.
Enjoy your break! And ofcourse I will be watching your new videos when you get back! Have al lovely time off ❤
Ahhh, both you and Sarah!
Enjoy your break Vera!
Dear Vera, I am on the same journey of working less to respect my high sensitivity. Thank you for sharing your experience and your thoughts! It is inspiring and reassuring. I do wish you a wonderful spring break!
Enjoy your trip and your time off! Waiting to see you in April. 🥰
BUT this just reminded me to take a few days off work if not to rest than just to unpack and settle into my new tiny rental☺
Enjoy your time off 🖤💃
i slept until 1h30 PM today, and I hard to work very hard to not guilt trip about it. this video was exactly what i needed today 🙂
I'm just happy to see you practicing what you preach. You seem healthier and healthier in every upload, I know that sticking around is a good idea.
Enjoy beautiful March and I look forward to your return in April ❤
