Pretty easy to unfilled a pool. Plus it wasn't the pool that was haunted it was the water from the spring. The spring is their regardless of what's on top of it.

In Mrs. summers house too the fountain had the entity bec they had taken some from the pool/house water before leaving to keep her wish fulfilled (this relationship between the water and the possessed individual was explored by the Waller family too). I think this could have been an interesting concept. We see how much the Dad is struggling with his disease, and then the pool spirit tells him if he sacrifices one member of the family to it he can get his health back. And at first he says "hell no" of course, but he keeps getting worse and the pool keeps showing him visions of the perfect, healthy life as a famous baseball player he could have and we follow him struggling with deciding if he wants to go through with it, and if so, who he would choose to sacrifice for himself. I think the first synopsis you read from IMDb was a summary of the 2014 short on TH-cam on which this feature-length movie was based. The short is just the woman terrorized by the spirit. 😮
*Idea for the background:* Would be cool if you had a green screen the size of a movie poster where the Saw poster is…and you green screen in the poster of the movie you are reviewing on it.
Love your analysis! Regarding the baseball plot (huge baseball fan so loved that element) this is Wyatt Russell’s second film where he’s a baseball player (the Linklater comedy Everybody Wants Some! was the other) so I’m guessing that Wyatt Russell may have some early baseball experience pre-acting. I wonder if the baseball focus was added into Night Swim because he could pull off those scenes? Glad you’re feeling better!! ❤
He was actually a professional ice hockey player before he became an actor, so it's kinda baffling to me that he keeps playing baseball in his movies lmao
Blumhouse has done some of my favourites: Get Out, Run, Soft and Quiet, Creep... but also some of the worst; the main problem with them is inconsistency
You should watch Deep End. It’s a short here on TH-cam, it’s the same concept as night swim, but the execution and originality is on a whole other level. That short has more depth and plot potential in 4 minutes than this movie in its whole runtime.
Man i thought it was just me: Wyatt Russell just always lands so weird for me. In this film, To the point where it was so odd to me that before he was even possessed I was like what’s wrong with him?? LOL😂😂😂
OMG the son, they dropped the ball on that one. It would have made more sense as to why he was so awkward at baseball, but we only get the fastest, briefest glimpse of why towards the end of the movie. That could have added to the story arc way better....cliche or not.

He got lucky with some good movies. But let's not forget one of the biggest was because he didn't really believe in the director's first movie
Right! I think the “good movies” that’s have come form Blum are from those other who have created concepts and worked on / directed those other movies . But I’m only just now starting to realize that
American dad did it first
Recommendation: The Passenger (2022 Spanish horror) it's a great little flick. New on Shudder
the bloated water demon made me laugh so loud in theatures.
also the “you’re supposed to say polo” ….really 😭😂
I thought of Harry Potter too! 😂 It felt like they were ripping off Voldemort possessing Harry at the end of Order of the Phoenix.
I literally just watched this HP movie yesterday and was like heyyy wait a minute
I felt like it was a beginner horror movie... like for kids.
Omg I’m so happy you like Saltburn and I look forward to that video!! It’s my newest obsession 😂
I think the first synopsis you read from IMDb was a summary of the 2014 short on TH-cam on which this feature-length movie was based. The short is just the woman terrorized by the spirit. 😮
“Next critique: characters are STUUUUPID” had me CACKLING😂😂
*Idea for the background:*
Would be cool if you had a green screen the size of a movie poster where the Saw poster is…and you green screen in the poster of the movie you are reviewing on it.
This movie is literally the storyline of The Drowning Kind by Jennifer McMahon, but the main characters are different.😂
@@aliceramenhead Wow! Thanks for the info!
Saw it last night and at the end after all the shit goes down and Wyatt says “is he okay” the whole theater burst out laughing cause DUDE WHAT
Wow what a shame, the trailer is so promising.
😆 girl I burst out laughing when you said " but what about the son!" 😅 like be fr how did he last so long under the pool ?
Blumhouse has done some of my favourites: Get Out, Run, Soft and Quiet, Creep... but also some of the worst; the main problem with them is inconsistency
You should watch Deep End. It’s a short here on TH-cam, it’s the same concept as night swim, but the execution and originality is on a whole other level. That short has more depth and plot potential in 4 minutes than this movie in its whole runtime.
I watched this accidentally in 4DX in the cinema 😅 the whole experience was absolutely terrible and time ill never get back
YESSSS SALTBURN HAS REMINDED ME WHY IM PASSIONATE ABOUT FILMS
So happy that you’re back! The unintentional break was well deserved regardless! 🖤
I mean you have Kerry Condon fresh off an Oscar nomination and this is what you give her.
I liked Night Swim much better when it was Shark Night.
Nothing to say about night swim but I'm sooo excited for the Saltburn review 😅
"I wish this movie was simpler"
yes! I like your ideas and you should have written Night Swim
20:25 😂😂😂 I was so enthralled in your video that when you said that I had to rewind and laughed hard, then you hilariously and subconsciously right after talk about the hose and her mouth right after 😅 keep up the great vids, welcome back, recover well, and don't sweat that silly stuff, your audience is here to enjoy your horror reviews and not make you worry about silly things
I totally thought the same thing when I watched her sucking on the hose for air. I was like… the hose is tied…??? What a stupid movie. Not scary at all. It wasn’t entertaining or fun. I won’t see another movie by this production company in the theaters again. With the economy like it is right now money is too valuable to waste on trash. Cash grab. message received blumhouse, I won’t be giving you my money again. ✌🏼
i didn't like this movie
Glad I watched this review instead of the movie Oof. I was thinking abt it because water movies freak me out so would be effective but baseball? And that ending?? LOL
baseball truly is the worst sport they could find to include in a movie...like good job at making it even more boring than it already was
