The fade out was so necessary especially with the ambience of the song. This song is 10 minutes and 13 seconds long. It's a story that I feel takes us through the stages of grief. I got chills with that ending. Love the nods to other songs on the Red album.. It is so fitting now that 22 follows All Too Well especially the line about the 21st birthday.
From TIME magazine, issue dated December 25, 2023: "For building a world of her own that made a place for so many, for spinning her story into a global legend, for helping to bring joy to a society desperately in need of it, Taylor Swift is TIME's 2023 Person of the Year." RogerC 12/17/23
I ended up envisioning it as Taylor standing on a lone street while it was snowing, with the camera eventually panning over her shoulder and into the concrete jungle of New York. I don't often think fade outs are a great way of ending songs but I think it fits really good for what she was going for; the forgetting of the pain, all to be a distant memory one day, fleeting like falling snow.
@@KathrynLujan same, the first time listening I felt that way too, it felt like a 1 min too long of fading, BUT on the second listen I started to appreciate it and now I love it because it kinda calms you down after making you spiral out of control into sadness.
everyone EVERYONE has the exact same reaction to ‘you kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath’ . Everyone pauses if and repeats it like ‘you. kept. me. like. a. secret. but i kept you. like an OATH 😦’. I’ve watched so many reactions and yet to find a variation
I'm so anxious to see your reaction to the rest of the vault tracks! In my opinion, the vault tracks on this album are even better than the vault tracks on Fearless (idk if that's an unpopular opinion or if everyone kind of agrees on that). I know she's been dropping a ton of 1989 hints/Easter eggs for a while now and there were even more in the short film so I have this theory that she's gonna do a surprise drop of 1989 TV on her birthday. There's definitely a good chance I'm wrong (because who can really predict what Taylor Swift's gonna do, she's so insanely sneaky), but I feel like with her bumping up the release date of Red TV to Nov 12th (which would give us a month to enjoy it) and the fact it's the album named after her birth year, it just seems like something she would do.

Same. The timber in her voice as she talks about remembering the fall of snow just kills me
I definitely agree now!! In the moment, I was just desperate for the song to give me more new lyrics. But I do think the way it’s done is brilliant

you can take the fade out as a metaphor of her letting go of the pain and slowly moving on kinda. at least that is how I felt it

No, totally!! I was just initially desperate for more new lyrics, but I think the ending is beautiful!

She was gaslighted so much that she has to repeat to herself that everything really did happen

I will never get tired of seeing young women lose their minds the first time they hear Taylor say “Fuck the patriarchy”
You both are gorgeous! Loved the energy! Sooo excited to see other reactions of the album!
Thank you so much, babe!❤️
