Glad to help! I feel the same way, I will show my students videos like Shake Hands with Danger so they don't have to listen to me drone on about safety. or Modern Marvels episode about Diesels so they understand the history and importance of them.
Thanks for the video. Could you give advice on the best procedure on removing factory sleeves from a 60 series? Is there special tooling for the removal and install of the sleeves?
I will do that as soon as I have access to a series 60. The closest I have is an early model DD. There is a special tool they make for seating the sleeves on that but pulling the sleeves is pretty standard
We buy them at the harbor freight or off Amazon. Since we have students that like to break tools we use the cheap ones. This link will show you the tools on Amazon. amzn.to/3In34lq
My friend, I do not know what Cummins ISC you are looking up but this Cummins ISC CM2150 Eng No 46837912 the specs are .0010 to .0048 for liner protrusion and it does tell you to install 2 hold down clamps and torque to 50 ft lbs. You are right though that it says to release the clamps before measuring. You really shouldn't spout off specs on someone else's channel without being sure of your info. I put the engine serial number on here so anyone can go to quickserve and verify.

You did a great job on explaining these two important measurements! thanks a lot!
Thanks, it's an important part of getting it right!
That was awesome. Always looking for solid instruction videos. Gives my students something to watch than just listening to my voice. Great work.

Any chance you would let me borrow those liner clamps to check protrusion on a Cummins ISL9?
Muchas gracias por el video, buena información. Son puntos criticos que muchos no le dan importancia.

Welcome
Spec is 1-4 on that ISC not 10-48, and you measure it unclamped, as per qsol.

Olá Roberto,
Você está muito certo nisso! Obrigado!
My mouth worked faster than my brain when I explained the depth micrometer measurement. What we were looking was 4.753 if I remember correctly.
Just saw a sticker on a silver truck
