That "dududud" choreography actually resembles the action of chopping something lol. I thought it was that because they had this chef concept like how that "taktaktak" move looks like they were sprinkling salt 😂
There are a lot of cooking references. They are chopping on the board, tasting it, mixing the pot, sprinkling salt, fanning. That's just what I noticed.
The part where they get up from the floor is actually a step called "scorpion dance" and it was popularized by a 2nd gen group called Infinite! I know they're an older group but because you love synchronization, I'd like to suggest their performances too. They're the OG "kings of synchronization" in Kpop and rheir music is unparalleled too 💛
I was looking for this comment! I thought it was just me. The shock isn't as powerful... its like going to the movies after listening to the soundtrack, still good, but the punch isn't there...🤔
I feel like once hyunjin cuts his hair stay will feel like atiny when hongjoongs mullet got cut off. DEVASTATED!! (I'm a staytiny and this is for all my other staytinys)
omg I've never stanned ateez, but istg i would see his stans dragging him for the mullet and hoping for it to be gone? what changed. lmao. his mullet was neat tho.
If you look carefully at the choreo you'll notice how there are many chef and cooking references like the "du du du" part represents them cutting on a cutting board and the "Tang tang tang" part is like them throwing spices into a pan and then the bow at the end has like chef etiquette? to it so yeah that's cool. It's fine that you didn't pick up on it cuz I've watched so many performances of this so it was easier for me to notice. So maybe if u ever watch it again on your own time you'll see it too :)
This song has been on a loop in my head since it came out. Even getting it as an ad but can't really complain. Love it just like the rest of the album. And the choreography is wonderful
I do not stand Stray Kids (ha, I didn't*) and this MV appeared to me as an ad, I was JUST about to skip it but the first 5 seconds were so cachy that I watched it entirely, and now I am on a roll watching all their MVs and weekly idol presentations LOL!
I was so excited to see you react to this! Also, I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but if you didn't know already, Lee Know (or Minho) actually is a main dancer in Stray Kids and used to be a background dancer for BTS!
I was sad Lee know had no actually lines and barely any screentime. But this song is a bop. I love Hyunjin’s hair so much. I changed my bias from felix to Hyunjin around a month before this comeback so when he came back with pics looking like this I was actually not okay at all. Tbh dance line are my boys. Hyunjin is my bias, Felix and Lee know are my wreckers.
It’s super cute and creative that the choreo has so many cooking actions to match their concept. (Like Jisungs whole rap section. And the chorus. And I.N.’s part. And the bow at the end. etc) A super smart idea.
4:32 it’s actually not the breaking down a beat gesture and they just included that in the choreo, i’m pretty sure it’s cutting some food in cutting board since they’re cheffs
*So Jeff,* I actually learned the choreo of this dance 2 days after it came out by watching a mirrored performance. It took me less than 30 mins to just learn the moves for the chorus but more than a day to dance it properly. *You are so right about this dance being easy but on the other hand the execution and techniques were so hard to do.* My energy is always drained whenever I try it and its only the chorus lol. I think maybe I use too much energy in the wrong moves. 😅
This song might also be shorter than their usual title tracks because originally it wasn't meant to be the title track; they changed it to God's Menu a month before the album was released
This was the first stray kids mv I watched and liked and hyunjin stood our for me the most.then I checked out his older pictures and he looks so different before with different hair colour.his long blonde hair changes his face completely
Stray Kids is their own style and it feels like they've fully embraced it for this album. There's no mistaking that this is a skz song. No one else can do it like them
Skz had a really rough 2019 and I'm so incredibly proud of how far they've come. Their first full album is a huge deal and they fucking killed it. Every single song on the album is incredible
Jisung is not only a rapper/writer/producer but a vocalist as well! Since their pre-debut days he was the best at reaching high notes (for example in the pre-debut song Hellevator) and, although he is mostly considered a rapper because of his wonderful skills, he has been given many vocal parts up till now! When Woojin left the group, Stray Kids lost a main vocalist and that's why Jisung has more vocal parts now: you can see it in the song Levanter! Thank you for your reaction to the song Jeff💓 we always appreciate it!
It's been a long time since you posted this and since we've heard this song for the first time, but I finally figured out why this song feels so short. Outside of the fact that it's under 3 minutes anyway. But it starts out with a 'verse' from changbin that is super high energy. Then han's verse that is just a hair lower in your face, then lower in the pre-chorus and it's back in your face for the chorus. Then everything drops way down for felix and his five star line, it stays kind of low (but not as low) and simpler through the high kick/hyunjin part and the prechorus, then starts to open up again to go into a chorus but doesn't. So you want it but it's back low for Felix. So it feels SO good when it gets the chorus finally and back to that super high energy... but it's over so quick and back to that in your face attitude from changbin and then it's over! So what I'm saying is this: when I was in music class growing up, our teacher would tell us all the time: don't give them the cheesecake. Wave it in their face a bit, let them smell it, maybe give them the tiniest taste, but pull it back. Wait to give them the cheesecake, because they'll want it that much more. That's what they're doing here! I was trying to figure out why Changbin's second time around in the song felt so much more powerful than the first and why I loved it so so much... and it's because it's essentially acting as the cheesecake. They put it in my face and then waved it around some, but then stepped back with it. And STAYED back. They brought it a little closer but stayed back. Changbin's second verse is them putting it back in my face with a taste and I'm expecting it to get pulled back and have another bite later (or the whole piece) but instead it ends! That's why we wanna listen to the song over and over on repeat! The end is the beginning of the song! Yeah I hope that made sense lmao
As a dancer (or at least someone trying to learn) your analysis of these dances is honestly so helpful! I was really excited for your reaction to this song too. Could I leave a recommendation? E’Last is a group that just debuted with their song Swear, and it’s really different from anything else that I’ve seen lately and the dance is gorgeous.
"Do they even cook?" Chan and Lee Know do, and Felix has recently been learning as well; despite the chaos when he makes smoothies with Seungmin, he's supposed to be pretty good now... Han has _always_ been both rapper and vocal. Even when they were first recording Hellevator, he was originally the _only_ member who could his the insane high note in the hook...
YESS OMG THE INCHEEEES SIR IS SERVING!! I found the "du du du du" part interesting as well because I'm used to seeing my captain do it all the time when breaking down performances and such so it was like "whaaaat that's a part of the choreo?!" but seriously hats off to these beautiful specimen
