I recently heard the quote: - beginners go straight - intermediates rush horizontal and sometimes back - advanced surfers surf the whole wave and do what the wave provides them
@@diquepiques3921 You’re absolutely right, thanks for the quote! How a surfer makes use of what the wave is providing with is definitely what separates intermediates and advanced 🤙

Rushing is a hell of a thing 😅 You spend your beginner days learning how to pump not to get caught behind only to have to relearn how not to outrun sections when intermediate. To be fair, 95% of those waves looked like barely a one and done or kamikaze punts to the flats and maybe couple visions. Bet it looked firing from the beach and then... Carcavelos is exactly like that too 😅
@@inFAMOUSBeatsGFx It’s such a mental thing too! You know you should take some time to assess what the wave has to offer, but once you’re up your mind is telling you to just GO 😅 you’re right 90% of them were one-turn waves but one turn is better than none! Dude I’m guessing you get great barrels over in Carcavelos when it’s on, don’t you? And with how the coast looks like around it, I bet fall and winter are great there 🤙
Ive been getting better at hitting the lips and doing snaps on waves its really fun definately one of the funner manouvers and isnt to hard once you get the hang of it
