Canada is headed for the same problems the US has, but with a 15 year time delay. The white population is headed for minority status in both countries, but at different rates.
The fear of no longer being "on top by default" is what scares the heck out of US rural areas. That's why they want to stop abortion (make more white babies) and immigration (keep other kinds of people out), Immigration wasn't a problem in the US before the 1960s, when country quotas favored Europeans. Once that changed, people from anywhere could start to come in.

In Australia most judicial appointments are done by the bar, not the government, and there is no such thing as judges being elected by the people, that campaign for their election on the basis of how they will rule on things, and go on a ballot that states their political affiliation. The US system appointing/electing judges is appallingly politicised. Justice should be blind, not partisan!

Speaking as a British citizen, I just cannot wrap my head around the idea of partisan judges. It's absolutely insane to have judges affiliated to political parties! You can't have justice like that! You don't need judges that will make rulings that benefit one party over another, you need judges that make rulings on what is RIGHT - without bias or allegiance to anything other than the TRUTH.

If we don’t know a judge we can’t know their position. I have found that lawyers and judges are not who or what they claim to be. Serving on a jury lets us see the lies and crooked things lawyers say in court and the judges allow it knowing the lawyers are lying and trying to get the jury to believe their lies.

I'm on the left, and after what I have seen lately with Donald Trump's cases, I cannot possibly agree the judges should not be elected. I don't trust our court system anymore. They stand up in court, the attorneys who are supposed to represent the state or the nation, and they say that they're representing the people, but nobody out there cares with the people actually feel and want, least of all judges.

It should never be lopsided towards one party or the other there’s no way to get any kind of a fair judgment from them when it’s like that it’s just never gonna happen!!

Now we’re older and have learned, this is not necessarily true. It’s an unsettling truth, to say the least.
