This is a great idea. I wish you well. I agree, Books are cheaper than CNC laiths or the latest electric welder. After retiring from the army, I attended a two year cabinet making course. All of our equipment was WWII U.S Navy hand-me-downs. I just checked, the machines are still there. Until politicians spend the money to help our industrial schools become competitive we will continue to fail our young people.

I'm a UX/UI designer but what you do is my dream. I've loved cars since I was a kid and would absolutely love to create masterpieces like your builds. Great job and great outfit.

I wouldn't expect anything less from you and your team, but I love how you can one-hand, no white-knuckle drive this. If I had the budget I would love this... I suppose that's the point though. Great build! I think it's great that you keep the spirit of the original and make it usable in today's world.

Sir, you not only talk the talk, you walk the walk...my admiration for you and your workmanship just somehow increased, supporting the school and the kids in general is an amazing and selfless undertaking....I am a professional blue collar worker, (elevator tech.) and am proud to be a craftsman myself. And gratefully not ashamed of that fact...changing mind sets , one brain at a time...thank you.

Sir, don’t ever stop doing what you do. You are an example to follow. When I see your videos and the master pieces you and your team create, Vince Lombardi comes to mind: “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.” The result of your dedication is just that: excellence. From southeast Texas.

Billy Gibbons is showing Icon Broncos now?
Broncos like these "old school" ones are super correct for me, these are cool cars for car lovers who understand design and engineering, always respecting the 60s designs that have plenty of personality!

  • @djremotion2

The car looks amazing. You should have free schooling system like we have in Finland and mostly in all Europe. It gives opportunity to everyone, also those kids that come from abroad. Ps. Looks more like houndstooth pattern than herringbone. ;) :D #geek

Love the color! Thanks for the video and also the commentary regarding the need to "decriminalize the blue collar"! As a middle class kid who didn't fit with the "sitting at a desk for four plus years (to then sit at a desk for the rest of my working years) crowd", I definitely struggled with societal/ cultural/ familial judgement around my choices. I am always inspired by details and perfection of the vehicles you and your team create, as well as the passion you bring to sharing in these videos! And while, I have chosen a different medium to express my creativity and skill, seeing and hearing all the details of your projects inspires me to keep putting my heart in to my craft. Of course, being paid well helps too...Ha

Jonathan, I really dig your "geeking"! I immediately recognized the 66' steering wheel and the orange from my 1st car(66'Mustang 2+2). The "Vintage" look is spot on! The color scheme is beautiful. If I were younger(58' model) I'd ask about Internships with ICON, but I'm a little too attached to my creature comforts. Thanks for sharing your amazing products and please keep posting them for the rest of us... Jerry

Jonathon ... Just a thought. You mentioned on this vehicle that you are concerned that term Blue Collar is being criminalized ... We could not agree more. So with that said, is your business based as an Employee Owned profit sharing basis. One where employees are not wage slave but are truly compensated for their daily endeavor and personal investment in making the product ? That position alone would be the first sincerest step forward in helping to support the hands-on blue collar class. One that we so desperately need instead manufacturing just for the white collar meritocracy of which you referred to?

It is great that you and your brand are helping to get more creative people into design schools. The greater challenge might be finding design jobs after graduation. Most companies with openings require that applicants have at least 3-5 years of "professional" experience, and a portfolio of successfully launched products as proof.
