    Thanks for posting. One of the things I like best about this video is that it shows the technique to HOOK fish. Too many show only bringing the fish to the boat. Really appreciate the English subtitles too. Many thanks!

    Good day, Thanks 🙏 for all the very useful videos you made through this channel. I watched many many channels talking about slow jigging. But, your videos are the best. They are very useful for angulars to understand, takle, techniques and retrieve through watching and reading comments. Almost everything.
    Thanks again and my best. Regards.

    Watching this has got me in the mood to make another slow jigging video, but for much bigger fish.
    Maybe even 50-100 pound GT!
    Normally I get heaps of Coral Trout.

    Excellent behavor on a 8kg amberjack. But what happens when the jig gets hit from a 40kg amberjack??? Or a tuna?

    Hi Toto i notice u have a strap there on your arm and rod..what strap is that?

  • @gbuddski8121

    Is it normal for slow jigging rods to have no lifting capacity? I see you are using a PE3 rod but have to use the reel to get the fish in making it look more like PE1. I am about to look at Evergreen rods but not happy with having to use the reel this way on smaller fish,

    • @ThomasShue
      @ThomasShue ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems like a limp noodle to try and keep tension on the hook in the fishes mouth. So he points down the rod to keep tension via the reel and line pulling via reeling? Seems kind of a poor way to bring a fish to the boat.

    • @kennethchia2020
      @kennethchia2020 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ThomasShue slow pitch jigging rods have a weaker tip so that you can get the action needed for a falling jig. hence the need to use the reel to do the job.

      Really? This straw hat sells everywhere on the island of Okinawa. About JPY1500. Let me know and I can ship it to you.

      Totos JAS I like the one in this video. I have one from Ebay but it doesn't have the bamboo going around. It just has thin criss-crossing bamboo strips. How much is the one in the video shipped to the US?
      Also, I want something like this for the Japanese monk; mokurai.destinyslobster.com/Images/MONK.GIF
      and
      something like this;www.hatjecantz.de/files/felice_beato_attributed._portrait_of_a_samurai_in_traditional_dress_with_wide_bamboo_hat__1863-68__malandrini_collection.jpg
      for the real samurai.....and where can we get a male samurai komono????

    • @totosjas2978
      @totosjas2978  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry megasif. It's out of my recipe.

    • @megasif
      @megasif 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK....but they should sell those on Ebay. I think people want real Samurai hats like the monk ones......a lot. If I live in Japan, I would go and get those from the temple and cut a deal with them. I would still pay for the one in the video. How much total or shipped is the question.

    • @totosjas2978
      @totosjas2978  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi megasif. The shipping to US will probably be about JPY1500. Along with the straw hat itself at JPY1500, the total will be about USD26.00

    Hey Japanese brother, I'm new to overhead reels. Tell if that reel can cast an 1/4 oz. jig....? I want the Maxel jigging reel but they said it is too powerful. I don't even know what that means. Can a jigging reel cast? And what do you think of an Abu Garcia Morrum ZX?

      Maxel reels are freaking great... i got an f30 and its absolutely amazing... with a recovery of 96cm per revolution and 20kg drag... makes chinese mackerel almost weightless to retrieve... great stuff!!

    • @totosjas2978
      @totosjas2978  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not to cast. Jigging reel is basically for a vertical game. If you want to cast, the spinning definitely has advantages.

    • @megasif
      @megasif 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totos JAS Thank you for replying. I will stick to spinning. I don't do jigging, just freshwater.

    Your rod needs to fight the fish, not the reel.

    • @jroyero
      @jroyero 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Other way around, rod is to impart action the reel essentially is what will bring the fish up

    Thats how the novice do, the rod n reel are invented to make a combine effort to land a fish, not that only reel do his thing,

  • @haroldwilcox5796
    @haroldwilcox5796 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Poor fighting technique. Let the rod whip the fish!!!! Don't point the rod at the fish.
