Autism and strong technical skills in composition. That isn't a knock on Bach, his mind created some of the greatest pieces of music we will ever have.
What a beautiful thought. Knowing that there is something so wonderful waiting for you. I think that if more people had your vision there would be a dramatic improvement in our lives.
The first time I heard this hymn, I played and replayed it about 20 times. My whole being was transformed in a heavenly environment. What a great gift to humanity.
Regardless of whether you follow any religion or none, I think it's hard to dispute that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform truly wonderful, beautiful music.
The actual quote is very similar to what you said... “The aim and final reason of all music should be none else but the glory of God and refreshing the soul. Where this is not observed there will be no music, but only a devilish hubbub.”-Johann Sebastian Bach Thank you for giving an excellent, modern perspective.
Greetings from South Africa . I always come back to this heavenly work. As we celebrate the "Solemnity of Christ the King" in the Catholic calendar, the Cathedral Christ the King in Johannesburg welcomes you to this heart- throbbing, tearing music. Thanks for sharing this rendition by the spectacular Tabernacle choir accompanied by an equally amazing orchestra.❤
God knew me before i knew Him. When i would hear this song as a child I was automatically drawn to it and now i know why. God chose me from the beginning and I could feel Him in this song even before i knew Him.
The first time i heard this marvelous music was when i played it in highschool band. I played tuba and was so taken i cried. The band director had to start over several times because we had a hard time playing it. The notes arn't hard ,the melody is so beautiful and the chords so melodious that you live the music. Mr. Bach was certainly Devinely led.
Every living breathing human will very soon stand before our creator and give and account for every attitude and word spoken!!!! I praise the holy king on high for beautiful souls like this who come together to worship his holy name!!!!!!
I am not a believer. But I still have to ask, "What is it about us that such exquisite music is created and moves us so deeply?" I just have no answer.
People sometimes forget that certain art forms transcend time and place. Bach wrote this cantata "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben" (Heart + Mouth + Deed + Life) in 1723. 300 years later this music still elevates our hearts and minds to a higher level. We are fortunate to have it. A special "Thanks" to Felix Mendelssohn. I provide the English translation (below): Jesus, joy of man's desiring Holy wisdom, love most bright Drawn by Thee, our souls aspiring Soar to uncreated light Word of God, our flesh that fashioned With the fire of life impassioned Striving still to truth unknown Soaring, dying round Thy throne Jesus, joy of man's desiring Holy wisdom, love most bright Drawn by Thee, our souls aspiring Soar to uncreated light Word of God, our flesh that fashioned With the fire of life impassioned Striving still to truth unknown Soaring, dying round Thy throne
All great artists actually channel inspiration from above according to the talents they worked to develop in this life. Some do it very early and effortlessly. And the really great ones like Bach recognize they are just well tuned instruments in the hands of a prodigious Maker
Simply beautiful, Jesus is truly our joy and the desire of our hearts.
Most beautiful, perfectly modulated piece of music ever composed❤
This is beyond human. How does the human mind even compose this beauty?
It was composed by Bach through God's inspiration
Autism and strong technical skills in composition. That isn't a knock on Bach, his mind created some of the greatest pieces of music we will ever have.
Von Johann Sebastian Bach, den größten Kirchenmusiker der Welt
Schade das "jesum bleibet meine Freude" nicht auf Deutsch, Bachs Muttersprache, gesungen wird. Trotzdem sehr schön, Danke
Bach❤
One day i will join my beautiful mother and father in heaven and sing this to God.
What a beautiful thought. Knowing that there is something so wonderful waiting for you.

Yes. Me too😥🙏
The first time I heard this hymn, I played and replayed it about 20 times. My whole being was transformed in a heavenly environment. What a great gift to humanity.
I couldn't have said it better, this composition is a gift to humanity.

Jesus is my Lord and Saviour. ✝️
Bach once said that "any music who doesn't worship or honor God is just noise."Now I understand why.
I read this was composed specifically for church

Jesus Christ King of Kings and Lord of all
I can listen to this beautiful song a thousand times and still get tickled silly. They played this at my wedding while I walked down the aisle.
This is one enlightened choice for a bridal entrance, even if I do say so myself.
💙

Ausgezeichnet! Vielen Dank! SDG
I think those are different words than what we sang when I was in a choir.
My greatest desire is to someday play this piece on the organ. I really love the brass intro. Well done.
Why not try. Plenty of arrangements out there, St Ceceila for one.
Das bekommst du hin, das ist nicht so schwer. Ich spiele das des öfteren auf der Orgel
Thank you for this lovely music to comfort and lift my soul to my Father in the dark. I've loved you since a child
Just beautiful I love Jesus,he is truly the joy of our desire
