as a highschooler i understand her, she was frustrated that she got up late, if the convo was just between her and her mom she would have calmed down and everything would have been okay, adults are out here saying grades matter and everything and keep the stress levels on students up, plus she had an exam that day, hwari is a high schooler going through it, and she is never rude to her mom before so its fine. why do you think maintaining a parent-child relationships is easy.
Yes but it's still not a reason to be rude. She's only focused on studies. Her parents work, do chores, and take care of her on top of that. She's at the age that she needs to learn to be independent and do multi tasking too.
@@sharahdemesa71 did you even watch their videos. only her mom takes care of her. her dad is a man child who takes one milistep forward only to take 25 steps back again. maybe if you understood the family better you would think twice before writing this comment
Yes i watched. The dad is working. Providing money for the family. Even if she studying very hard, its not an excuse to blame and be rude. Don't be self centered. She even asks her mom that "didn't her dad knows how hard she is studying and stays late? " What about her? Didn't she know her mom stayed up late too worried about her and made her breakfast early morning? It's sad to think that in the end, it became the parents' fault. Which the child should be the one saying sorry for talking back like that, thinking she is privileged just because she's at that age.
@@sharahdemesa71 Prolly this person never had a dad who provided things for him/her. My father was away through out my child hood and he had to work all the hard labour abroad. So, when he gets back home, do i have to be a brat like her and be rude to my dad for not being there for us during our childhood days? When he was the one who was working day and night to provide us. These kids needs to learn to be greatful. Lucky they are not on the streets instead have a good house, everything provided on their plate , nothing to worry about cos her dad is providing her everything. She should swap her place with someone less unfortunate who has a father but is alcoholic and provides nothing. People can be retarted and accusing him of not being a good father whereas he`s better than most of the fathers out there.
I definitely understand where Hwarinis coming from. The pressure to pass exams can be immense and from past eps. & clips it’s shown that Hwari takes her studies seriously. I don’t think their was any malice behind her being upset in the morning plus all while dealing w/ exam stress she pushed aside bday celebrations to the side. I do hope they can patch things up soon. 💗💗💗💗
That is not a valid reason to disrespect your parents. Korean parents should change their parenting towards their children it seems like korean kids talks back a lot like its normal for them to do so.
I mean the mother stayed up well past midnight because the daughter was still busy studying.. she too must have been a bit exhausted and forgot.. The daughter could have came into that a lot calmer and with a better way of speaking to both her parents... the way she answered her father was disrespectful.. exam or no exam he also has a point she could have set an alarm on her phone
@@kylatay8641 true, I saw so many korean show about kids in korea mostly they're rude to their parents. Using adolescent as an excuse to be disrespectful towards their parent. I can understand why Hwari is like that. She pulled an all-nighter and depended on her mom's words that she'll wake her up. Studying is really hard, go easy on her.
It's really annoying because you rely on your parents for YEARS and then suddenly they're like WHY ARE YOU RELYING ON ME?? Like you're supposed to suddenly stop doing what you've always done?? I 100% agree with Hwari on this.
I think they’re both in the wrong here :/ Hwari should definitely learn to be more responsible and set an alarm clock. In the end, it’s her education and her time. She is a teenager and not a child anymore. On the other hand, the father is a man-child and just wants to fight, not being able to empathise with his daughter and just being emotionally absent in general.
@@Nanancay I get where you’re coming from. Parents should guide their kids slowly but surely to be more responsible as they grow up and not just tell them to be an adult all of a sudden after babying them.
Imagine at that age doesnt know how to freaking SET THE FREAKING ALARM....dont she have phone? Alarm clock? Her mom is another human being not a freaking robot...u talk about that girl pulled an all nighter...u miss the part that her mom not freaking sleep too?
sometimes, alarms don't work if you're too tired. Of course, she needs to learn how to be independent but she asked for her mom's help and the latter gladly said yes. Her mom is rlly amazing for being supportive and calm, tho she forgot to wake her up. Hwari's only fault is having that tone with her mom but it could be resolved later on when she's already relaxed. It's just the father made the situation worse.
I think everyone's misunderstanding Hwari. I think a lot of people probably have forgotten that she's a very stressed student who is probably also very sleep deprived. She probably started noticing it was harder than usual to wake up even with an alarm clock and thus she asked her mum to wake her up. Anyone in her position would also been upset. Especially since she had plans to revise and so waking up at a time that was later than she planned probably stressed her out even more and that's why she talked to her mum that way. It's not right but, you have to understand that anyone in that position would've been just as upset. To add to that, as we've seen, she doesn't have the best relationship with her dad and him joining the conversation probably upset her even more resulting in her to have an attitude while talking. She's probably asked her mum to wake her up in the past and so she would've trusted her to wake her up like the usual. Afterall she isn't an adult and I don't think anyone should really be blaming her for not having a backup plan and this is probably the first time something like this has occurred.
As someone who is still studying I totally understand her position. What you said about the alarm is so true and her mother told her she would wake her up so her waking up being this angry is totally right. She would be angry at first then after she calm down a little it would be alright. She also knows her mother work hard it is just she is frustrated cause she couldn't study more + the stress of having an exam that day.
I love this comment cuz everyone is hating on Hwari but as a majorly sleep deprived Highschooler myself, it’s incredibly difficult to wake up to an alarm. I don’t even hear an alarm that is blasting at full volume most of the times. And so I understand Hwari’s position of being mad at her mom. To be honest, the mom messed up. She promised Hwari she would wake her up but she didn’t. But from my point of view, the dad just made it a lot worse jumping in to the conversation like that. My dad yelled at me before and it’s really annoying and definitely made me perform a lot worse on my exam that day. It most likely would’ve only made Hwari more stressed than she was and probably put her mind out of it during testing. Ok bye bye
@@suminyeo3695 thank God I am not the only one who felt the dad was wrong. Everytime he Teel her so what if you are studying i feel bad for hwari idk how to explain it but does he ever tell his son something like that each time the mother tell the son to study he take the son side studying is hard and it seem that he doesn't believe that he think it isn't as hard as sport or something g so he feel the attention his daughter is getting is excessive. The mother answer was that of someone who know how to deal with her daughter she know her daughter is stressed so she understood her and told her her reason. And her daughter understood she was only angry for a short periode of time and I am sure she know her mother is tired too just got stressed and hence reacted that way
My opinion is this way cause i know I would have reacted the way she did and my mother would have said that she was tired and wasn't able to wake up too and I would have said it's OK and sorry for reacting that way. And it would have ended there.
this made me really upset and i cried. she wasn't even being rude at all. she was frustrated cause her mom agreed to wake her up on time so she slept without any worries cause she trusted her mom. the dad is not a good person and it didnt seem like he loves his daughter. parents should always care for their children when needed, regardless of their age. she is still studying afterall. and there are people who can't wake up even with an alarm, which is exactly why she asked her mom to wake her up.
This is actually sad to see.. the daughter was doing her best staying up all night to STUDY and I think most of the students know how hard it is… and then she gets all the blame dumped on her by her father on her birthday. It’s already sad to see that even her own father doesn’t know when her birthday is but that she didn’t even ask for anything instead she was working hard to do great on the exam. I know that she might’ve been a bit to harsh on her mother but she was probably just frustrated since it didn’t go after what she planned.
this father really pisses me off, he was never around when she was younger and now he wants to act like father of the year interfering in the education he didn’t participate in, if he really wants to make up for her for not being around he should stop interfering in the way hwari is diligent with her studies
Dad was the one that payed for everything working abroad. Its never ok to be rude to your parents even if its your birthday. Might as well tell the judge next time it was your birthday for whatever crime you want to commit.
@@alanjabour934 you think she'd have the things and privileges now if her dad in his profession worked in Korea? And yes it's a very good comparison for asians. There is no reason good enough for being rude to parents especially if they have been sacrificing to provide for the family. But hey you do you, probably similar case as the daughter.
This gives me mixed feelings I’m happy that the dad stood up for the mother, the mom went to sleep late cause Hwari was still studying right? Which mean she was being considerate towards Hwari and herself plus yes maybe she forgot but there is no need to get mad also the dad could have speak gently a bit. I know how Hwari is feeling with all the exam pressure but she also need to know that her mother have a lot of things to take care of…I wish both Hwari and the Dad could take act like the brother and appreciate the mother more
I disagree with the dad…this is a time where school is really a lot of pressure and you have to do everything to support your kid. It’s a tough time for a child with school
The mother is really kind and understanding. I get that Hwari is being sensitive because of her classes and exams but I hope she won't use it as an excuse next time for being rude to her parents.
U should see how the dad is usually is to the family, and to Hwari particularly, and the wife. Hwari's been putting up with her dad for the past.... idek how long this segment has been going on.
Why is only the girl to be blamed here? The situation should have been handled by the parents cool headedly. She has every right to request her mom to wake her up as she's tired and might not wake up even if the alarm rang. And at her age she can be sensitive when she sees it's already late and nobody woke her up. The father should have been patient here. The girl might have been edgy at that moment but later she would have understood that her mom was tired too. The father did not need to put oil in fire.
Because there is a way to speak to your elders you can’t yell at someone and not expect them to yell back also everyone gives exams and at times tougher than that when she goes for college then who will wake her up. Its about etiquette.
@@Apy744 She said two lines and the father interrupted. Things don't cool down this way. And every 18 years old girl doesn't have the same maturity. So you can't handle every 18 years old in the same way. The father should have been patient here and later he could tell her child that it was not good that she reacted like that. The parents have the maturity to understand how the girl could feel at that moment when she was already so late and it was an important exam. But the child might not have that maturity. But after making the situation cool down, if the parents could talk to the child, the child might understand that she was not right to do that behaviour and might say sorry later. Reacting and yelling at that instant will make the situation and the relation only worse!
@@nazninhaque1532 i get that aspect but the fact that she doesn’t realize that she should always have a plan B is wrong for herself. I'm totally on Hwari's side because I'm too a high schooler I sleep only 2 to 3 hours sometimes just one hour, We feel frustrated, stressed because of exams and assignments, Hwari was much better than children who blame their parents just.

He spoke to me all about these things after my exams were over!
Seriously, what kind of father doesn't remember her child's birthday? It's still acceptable that you forget but all the times you open you phone and look at the date, doesn't it cross your head that your child's birthday is near? It's one of the most basic things you as parent should remember🙄
My dad doesn’t remember anyone’s bday, not mine not my brother’s and not my mom’s + we don’t expect him to do anything at all (it’s always been like that), people are different
It depends, some people don’t celebrate and some people are busy. My birthday was two days ago and even before that I kept saying before Hand that it was coming up and my father still forgot. But since he works from 4am to 9pm I didn’t yell at him or get mad because I know he struggled too and is stressed. So even though it sucks that the father didn’t remember it’s not the end of the world. I’m sure they can nicely talk it out because just from watching this clip the father seems to care.
@@ayanahmed8428 well, hwari father currently sits at home and plays video games, i’m pretty sure he got plenty of time to remember it but it’s the fact that he was never around growing up to celebrate it with her that’s making him forget about it…
This was literally me yesterday. I told my dad to wake me up at 6 am but he was late. I got so angry at him, i feel really bad now. Even though i apologized i still feel bad about it and get teary every now and then
even tho the dad was right, it wasn't right to scold her so early in the morning, that too on the morning of the exams. I know how hard its waking up in the morning, but it feels very frustrating to study all day that u want someone to wake you up. The dad could have said politely it wasn't right and that they need to talk about it later. When both parties are angry, shouting while the other one is angry will only make them agitate even more.
Ok but why is no one talking abt how sweet the mum seems like 😢 she made a genuine mistake and admitted she was wrong, maybe that’s the bare minimum for others but from my experience my mother would somehow gaslight me into thinking it’s my fault. She was defending her daughter after she dropped her off when the dad was bad mouthing her ❤
When I need to wake up early, I always tell my dad to wake me up at a given time but I still set up my alarm, incase my dad will forgot to wake me up. You shouldn't rely on your parent, I know studying is tiring but your parent have their own works too. They are also tired like us, they sometimes also forget something like us. The father is mad because of her rude behavior towards her mom and he has a point too but he can talk to her in a soft tone or maybe they did really talk like that.
agreed on all this! i also have had many moments when id asked my parents to wake me up for something important the next day, but id also set up my alarm just in case. the dad definitely could have said it in a softer tone/executed it in a diff way. he just added fuel to the fire.
I wouldn't put 100% of the blame on him I mean he was a professional baseball athlete and playing at the highest level of sport means you are very busy (Especially when working abroad). You can't get too mad at him for not knowing how to fit in with the rest of the family after being apart for most of their formative years. My dad personally is my best friend and has been with me even when my other parent was absent so I just have a different view on things I guess.
I understand Hwari because l used to be like her when l was in high school but she's so lucky to have her mom.. she's so caring and understanding, l'm sure she regret yelling at her mom and they will make up easily, her dad might be right about Hwari not respecting her mom but he can wait till she's back from her exam and slowly explain why she should not act that way towards her mom.
I understand Hwari, when I have exams I study too until 3:00 am and still try to wake up early. I feel very anxious during exams, so I would have gotten angry too on impulse since the stress is too much to handle. But I'm not saying it is acceptable to lash out to your mother. Hwari's situation is just understandable for me.
I understand Hwari too, staying up past midnight to study will really make it hard for you to wake up in the morning, 'cause you lack sleep and is very tired your body will try to rest more so you will really tend to sleep more if you don't have someone to wake you up. I still ask my mom to wake me up if I have important exams or early lessons I can't miss.
As someone who’s also studying, it’s not her mother’s responsibility to wake her up (she has an alarm clock that will do the job). On the contrary, I do get when you ask your parent to wake you up and they don’t kill your vibe and give you anxiety as you’ve calculated the amount of prep you could’ve done in those hours.
if i say things like to this to my mother... I'm gonna get slapped without a second passing. it's really a different story if the child is being rude/disrespectful to the mother. and the mother here is so sweet, caring and loving.
i completely understand why she felt like that, during exam period i spent full afternoon/evenings studying during the last week because even though you study a lot you still have a long you want to go through to make sure there are no gaps and you are fully prepared. Waking up early to get a last skim really helps and i always do that, if i was to wake up late i would also be really angry because at the end of the day it’s my exam, my grade and my future so knowing someone could have helped you a bit to do better would really infuriate me too
I can understand Hwari bc during exams (I'm talking bout myself) I sleep super late like 4~5 am bc I have to study. And since in it gets difficult to wake up at a certain time that I thought bout waking up I always tell my mom to wake me up at the time. Since I'm a heavy sleeper I'm not able to hear the alarm many times and bc of sleeping late my whole sleeping schedule gets ruined so I tell my mom to wake me up. And when my mom sometimes forget to wake me up I also get angry bc if first I didn't wake up at time and second the exam pressure. But her dad I also right, we can't be dependent on our parents for everything.
I can relate to her so much. I was in online classes throughout the pandemic, and it was frustated already with abundant assignments like there's no tomorrow. I use to scold my family so much because the pressure was too much back then. Now I am already working and looking back those days, I always feel bad to my parents due to my attitude. I regretted every words and action I have done to them. That's why I will try to come back home every weekend to replace all the time I left them.
i was once a student, a working student, but i did everything on my own. including waking up. all u have to do is be responsible of urself since u r capable. she s actually lucky cos she has parents who look after her needs. all they do is study.
@@RA-gl3ks the tone in which she said it was what was disrespectful. In Korean the formality and tone is important. Yes in families most kids speak banmal with their parents but her tone was rude.
If she stopped studying 24/7 and failing her exams, how would they speak to her? She is fulfilling her duty is their daughter by studying so diligently until she is exhausted at such a young age. Her behavior seems mild to me considering that she hasn’t had any good sleep for an extended period of time. If she’s going to do studying required, they should at least wake her up and remember her birthday.
I feel like it was supposed to be a normal quarrel for a child and a mom who she she depended on. But it was disappointing for the dad, despite not being their for a lot of years and still doesn't remember her birthday. I get it, he was always away. But he should be getting back all those special times he wasn't with them. He doesn't think before speaking to them. They are always the one adjusting for him. Kudos to the mom
I don't get why everyone hates on Hwari? She's a sleep deprived high schooler just like me. If nobody noticed at 0:44 you can see the clock which displays the time 1:28 am! She probably fell asleep at a much later time! It is hard to wake up even if somebody wakes you up. She asked her mom to wake up because she probably can't wake up to alarm clocks anymore. If it was only her and her mom she would've calmed down. Plus as someone who's birthday is always in between final exams I understand why Hwari is upset. 1) it's your birthday. 2) you have to give an exam on your birthday. Why can't people understand that Hwari and her father don't have a good relationship because he wasn't here when he could've made a relationship with her and him just jumping in and scolding her not understanding her side also not knowing it was her birthday made things even worse.
I understand from the father's side in this one. Always have a back up. You can't rely on someone to wake you up because they either forget, or they're too busy and forget. I seen schools set goals for their students; use an alarm clock to wake up and not rely on your mum to. It's not an excuse to be late because your parents didn't wake you up. If this exam was important, you need Plan B to wake up. She'll learn in the future that she needs a Plan B just in case
No, you shouldn't understand his side. It's not right for him to have a temper when he doesn't know to how properly mediate, parent, allow the situation to be dealt amongst the mom and daughter. One days, it’s not going to be their fault and who would she yell at? In this situation, she’s frustrated with herself for not waking up on time so she’s projecting that to her Mum. Is it healthy? No. So yes, I am going to parent my child if they scream and said it’s my fault. I’m going to parent my child on how to regulate their frustrations and finds solutions instead of blaming people. When are you going to take responsibility in life if all you learned was to blame someone else? That’s where the father is coming from.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hwari decides to move out the moment she knows and decides to. I get the idea of tough love, but using the excuse of absence and saying, "she should've woken up early, it's not right" when she's so tired from study itself and scolding her for it is something is; is that what you call tough love? We don't get to see everything, but omg, we can see and hear how serious Hwari is about study. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if Hwari decides to move out the moment she knew she can.

For me, I can totally relate to her position when I was studying and having online school through quarantine for 3 years it was hard to get used to the beginning of Covid- All the way from lockdown the process of Covid till the end, and shifting back into in person learning. But my point is if a father or a mother who have no evidence of looking at their son or daughter sacrificing their time, energy, studying hard…At least have the empathy for them studying because it’s hard work as students and children. As parents, make the acknowledgment as a parent that you are noticing their hard work but at least try to say it in a different tone instead of furiously just scolding them. They have a right to be mad but also give them their side of the perspective on why they are also considered correct in being mad

I understand Hwari and her reasons for her attitude. Vigorous studying takes a toll on the physical and mental health and I get that she wants to do well and is focused on the exams. But I honestly do side with her father in this situation. As much as studying and being sleep deprived may be difficult, Hwari is not a middle schooler or a small child, I believe she ought to at least set her own alarm even if she asked her mother. She is far too entitled just because she's studying hard. I don't mean to say that she should become a people pleaser and be at the beck and call of her parents but being stressed out and sleep deprived due to exams does not give anyone a free pass to be/feel entitled. It seems like parents waking up their children is somewhat common in the Korean culture.
True lol. I literally woke up by myself back in high school days even when I slept at 4am😬 studying hard late is a personal choice hence she should be the one responsible for anything comes after.
The dad was right this time. She is a high schooler and should not be relying on her mum to wake her up. The fact that she was studying for an exam also does not mean that she has the right to be rude to her family. Her mom waits for her to sleep every single night and wakes up early the next morning just to prepare breakfast for the family. Hwari should not be taking this for granted. I understand that college entrance exams are super important but there are definitely much more in life than just grades. Hwari is constantly being stressed and this takes a toll not only on herself but her family too.
I couldn't relate this because i never expect others to wake me up,i just set tons of alarms 😂and my mom always gets up late too so i just wake up on my own 🤣
The mom literally CHOSE to stay up late, it’s definitely not the daughters fault. Also, the dad makes me so mad. He wasn’t even in the conversation, yet he still chose to bud in. This is exactly how my dad acts and that’s why I don’t have a good relationship with him.
They're playing with the order of the scenes. At 1:39, the clock reads 10:00 but in the next scene the time is 9:59. They edited it to make it look like the daughter is talking back but she is not. The mom said she was working after the girl said that she depended on her to wake up.
My dad never remembers any of my brothers birthday, either my mom would first wish in the family whatsapp group, or my brothers…but honestly I don’t mind him not remembering any of my brothers birthday….Just because we don’t remember one’s birthday, doesn’t mean that we don’t care……I also don’t remember my parents birthday, I do know the month but I don’t remember the date specifically since there are lots of people in our family
I can understand her frustration but I agree to the father tho. I won't be able to talk to my mom like that... I'll just cry out my frustration 😅 she's a tough one.
the child is definitely right, she keeps the responsibility of being diligent to her studies, she does her part of responsibilities. Now the parents are victimizing themselves and blaming their kids while not even being accountable that it’s their fault. The child ask you to wake her up at 8:00 am and you accepted. You have the obligation to wake her up BECAUSE you accepted that and if u didn’t all u have to do is apologize not blame ur child for ur own negligence
Everyone here that are blaming the mother and scolding the father is so selfish. She's old enough to make an alarm. She should've wake herself up. Her mum is already busy staying up late with her, wakes up early, cooks and cleans the house. What a selfish thing to say to your mother. Her mother is so kind too making sure everything is serve for her. I used to wake up earlier than my mother to prepare ingredients for my mother to cooks breakfast. That's the least I can help after all she does for me. I'm with the father this time. I'm sure she's stress but that doesn't mean it's ok to treat her mum like this.
People are so quick to not understand her POV and will use the fact that she’s at a “big age” to do things herself but once she actually outright says she’s at said age suddenly she’s just a child hopefully someone gets my point And not to mention he can’t even remember her bday so that is already a bad point
Although Hwari thinks that she deserves to be angry, she supposed to feel more sorry after seeing this clip. Her mom was not having a good sleep worrying about her. Being a hardworking student does not give u right to be rude to your parents. We are nothing without our parents
Really, I watched this family a lot. The father improved a lot in his style, but the girl from the beginning I said in the comments that she is selfish and everyone blamed me for saying that, but I think now it appears to everyone that this girl does not care about the feelings of her father, her mother, she only cares about her studies and her future. The son was better than her when he was The father was going through a difficult time to integrate with the family. The son was relieving his mother’s suffering and laughing in his father’s face and trying to create a cheerful atmosphere in the house, but the daughter was always grumbling and using hurtful words against her father. You can know the right son from the angry and selfish son. I am not against the daughter, but if she does not change her behavior, she will suffer in the future with strangers and others. This daughter scares her father and mother from losing her. She uses the tactic of twisting her parents' arms because they love her. Oh my God. This is really the worst kind of girl. Who knows that someone loves her and starts using indifference to get more attention, but she doesn't know that one day this person who loves you will kick you away because you Grumpy, selfish and rude The father was angry because the mother did not sleep well and worried about her daughter, and when the daughter woke up, she began to blame her mother, who was suffering because of her. How ingratitude.
Indeed. Just because its her birthday, doesn't mean she can talk in that tone to her mother. Eventhough she is tired, never assume you are more tired than others, especially to your parents. Eventhough her dad was never besides them for years and make a success, never assume he did well in the process alone. Everyone has their difficulty, but never assume you suffered the most. So always choose to be nice so you won't regret. This is life lesson from someone who more likely live longer than you who still study and pursue your dreams.
You're demonizing a teenage girl just because she wants to get into a good school to land a decent job in a very competitive job market and a society with a high standard of living. You might as well demonize the thousands other Korean students who prioritize CSAT right now. CSAT basically determines their life. Some people even lose their lives over it. Shame on you.
@@lilycha9398 Nobody chooses their school career over their parents except demons. I do not make her a demon, but she has to understand at this stage in which the personality of the individual is being built. Her academic matters are not more important than her parents. And if that is so, then she is ungrateful . Stop making excuses for teenagers to treat their parents badly. A generation has grown up for us that never respects the elderly, and some beat their parents because of people same your mentality. I am not saying you should pressure the teenager, but you should show them their limits as well because teenage usually cross redlines if you didnt learn them good ..
i think the dad is right. bcus the daughter is not a little kid. she should know her responsibility as a student and she's not supposed to talk like that to her mother.
I father favors his son more then his daughter. He forgot her birthday that's not right. Breaks my heart. He is not a very father. The mom is so sweet and caring about her daughter 💗
ok,idc what y'all think on hwari being lazy or not setting an alarm bc she asked her mom to and her mom agreed,i wouldn't set an alarm if i asked my mom and she agreed,im not say teh mom is wrong either she just forgot,it's fien
In my opinion the dad should've let the mother sleep and wake the daughter up instead of the mom. I don't know if the dad is working but it looks like the mom woke up and went straight to making breakfast. Even his son said he should let the mom rest more and help her by doing more chores and housework.
I don't know where I came across and watched this video. My nerves were shattered. If I were that girl and my father treated me that way, there would be chaos in the house. When the father said to his daughter, "Aren't you being too much?", I thought the father was too much.
i understand that child feeling cause my mum is a working adult tend to always make promise but cant fullfill and it end up is my fault for believing and trust because of having high expectation . when i growth older i realize myself is the support and i am really glad that i don't rely in my family much anymore even sometime you need some support from your fam but in the end is just disappointment, i dont have a good dad too so is i really hope to all those parents that are working dont find excuse to make promise you cant keep cause is gonna disappointed the child without knowing , if your guys are really busy about work and have no time for them just be honest with them instead of giving fake hope , is better to give the truth cause i believe the child wont be that disappointed but might be a little sad and even sulking to get attention but in deep heart we know you work hard for us
i was late for my law exam bcs my mom promised me to wake me up but didnt, i didnt sleep the whole night bcs of anxiety and kept revising. I was very late that the time was lapsed, the exam hall was locked, my question paper was taken away but they let me in and gave me my question paper. btw I had to run to the venue which ard 10 mins more or less. i cried i panicked i was angry, thought id failed but passed miraculously. after that experience i could responsibly manage my time by myself even not having any sleep at all. worst experience my whole student life.
He isn’t right here. He’s a grown man, and a father he out of all people should understand the frustration she must be feeling that way. Obviously, stress gets to children and if you just scold them, that’s no way to parent. Imagine what she is going through and how much stressed she is that she is terrified to have woken up even an hour late. The dad has not a clue what is happening to her because most of the time he isn’t even parenting her, he didn’t even remember her birthday.
Hwari had every right to be angry at her dad he even forgot abt her birthday. Its stressful for her as a student myself on a day of a exam that we wont be woken up early. They take it so easy saying 'your not late dont worry' every minute and second counts of studying especially on exams. this hits so close to home so im gonna be angry gosh.
Even me i hve studied late night during exams....i used to wake up by myself only by keeping the alarm I'm doing since when i was in 7 standard...Hwari is big enough to wake up her own...she isn't 5 years old kid tho😅its her responsibility now to take care of herself
I never had my mom wake me up for high school, I just put my alarm and that’s it lol, she never had to tell me what to do or wear, i guess I was just raised to be more independent, and I never knew my habits were more rare to other family’s including cousins of mine 😅
I don't see the point of raising kids if you aren't going to expect them to rely on you when needed. I especially hated it when the father went straight to a "solution" based on assumption without understanding the full context of the situation.
I hate when people or society think to highly to student...that student can say and do anything..yelling etc to parent... think that parent need to take care ALL foe them... it's not their fault... it's their parent who spoil them...
I don't think there are alarms in Korea, this girl is no longer 5 years old, she can wake up alone. However, the parents didn't remember her birthday was sad!
This is the first time I'm on team Dad's side. He saw mum staying up late so was unhappy hearing how the daughter was berating her mother. He was actually quite measured in his reactions for a change. I think the mother does let her kids dictate her life a little too much sometimes 😅
Bro. Studying is really stressful. She's obviously pressured and nervous because of her exam. I would be mad too if I ask someone to wake me up and they failed to, her feelings were valid that time of course that would be her initial reaction. He can't understand his own daughter that's really sad.
as a highschooler i understand her, she was frustrated that she got up late, if the convo was just between her and her mom she would have calmed down and everything would have been okay, adults are out here saying grades matter and everything and keep the stress levels on students up, plus she had an exam that day, hwari is a high schooler going through it, and she is never rude to her mom before so its fine. why do you think maintaining a parent-child relationships is easy.
What about her?
The thing is, his dad is right, if you have an exam, it's your responsibility to wake up early, at least put an alarm on or something.
Not an excuse to be rude. You can get your point across just as well in a nicer way. She’s is indeed old enough to wake herself up.
Ok bye bye
I agree

I know how hard its waking up in the morning, but it feels very frustrating to study all day that u want someone to wake you up. The dad could have said politely it wasn't right and that they need to talk about it later. When both parties are angry, shouting while the other one is angry will only make them agitate even more.
no, he was right to scold her. she can't keep walking around thinking its okay to talk to her mom like that especially when the mom isnt at fault.
But thats how she talk to her mom too.
I wouldn't put 100% of the blame on him I mean he was a professional baseball athlete and playing at the highest level of sport means you are very busy (Especially when working abroad).
I'm gonna get slapped without a second passing. it's really a different story if the child is being rude/disrespectful to the mother. and the mother here is so sweet, caring and loving.
until today i still have no idea how he is still on this show. its as if he never learns from his past mistakes
It's hard to be a parent. Fighting mom and dad. I hope hwari's efforts will be bloom into the results that she's expecting.
Hwari was not wrong for being upest..Mom could have just told no and hwari would've set her alarm..
i completely understand why she felt like that, during exam period i spent full afternoon/evenings studying during the last week because even though you study a lot you still have a long you want to go through to make sure there are no gaps and you are fully prepared. Waking up early to get a last skim really helps and i always do that, if i was to wake up late i would also be really angry because at the end of the day it’s my exam, my grade and my future so knowing someone could have helped you a bit to do better would really infuriate me too
She is the best mom and wife anyone can ask for 🥺🥰🥰🥰
I can understand Hwari bc during exams (I'm talking bout myself) I sleep super late like 4~5 am bc I have to study.
I understand Hwari being upset, but there is a way to speak.
whew when she said why? (informally) i was shaking lol
@@T-Sim23 most kids speak informally with their parents? I mean she’s speaking informally with her mom.
@@RA-gl3ks the tone in which she said it was what was disrespectful. In Korean the formality and tone is important. Yes in families most kids speak banmal with their parents but her tone was rude.
I will forever hate this vernacular in Korean conversation. Aren't you being too much. I hate it. So imprecise, generic and non commital
She is a CHILD, and she requested her mom to wake her up. My god, I hope you aren't a parent with that thinking.
Do you expect him to do nothing when hwari is being rude to her mom(his wife) ?
@@napperforlife2020 she’s not a child. She is a teenager who needs to learn from this lesson that even though her mum promised to wake her up, there is a possibility that she won’t. It’s a life lesson that she needs backup on plans in case it doesn’t go through.
Yes, she’s angry. Maybe rightfully so. But you never yell at your parents and say it’s their fault.
What makes you think she has no backup? You think it's very easy for someone to wake up at 10 after sleeping at 4? She definitely had an alarm but slept through it.
@@lissamelissa7512 he shouldn't interfere when he knows nothing about how she and her mom interact. Obviously she doesn't mean it and will say sorry once her exams are done. Her dad acting like he's saving her mom from her and giving aggro energy right before an exam is not good.
as a hard working student i understand her. i got so mad at the dad. her dad was scolding her for “not having sense of responsibilith” that when he himself didnt even know it was her own daughters birthday.
For me, Hwari is quite kind in handling that situation. If I put myself in her shoes i will scream out loud at her father face THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS KIND OF GIFT ON MY BIRTHDAY. After that, i will walk away.
she looks like she’s holding in tears, my heart goes out to her and all the girls with know it all fathers
2:58 Why must we take care of them so much like this, but still get a complaint about not waking her until.” Ironic that the husband says this when he complains of having to take care of his kids. 😅
And he didn’t even remember her bday, and it’s the exam day.. gosh! I might end up crying since early morning from woke up late on my exam day. What a worst thing happened to start a day
I wouldn't be surprised if Hwari decides to move out the moment she knows and decides to. I get the idea of tough love, but using the excuse of absence and saying, "she should've woken up early, it's not right" when she's so tired from study itself and scolding her for it is something is; is that what you call tough love? We don't get to see everything, but omg, we can see and hear how serious Hwari is about study. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if Hwari decides to move out the moment she knew she can.
a child doesn't come out on their own so responsibility rests on parents until they are somewhat mature enough to deal the daily life challenges like this..THAT IS CALLED PARENTING
Bet that dad don't know how it feels to be awake late when you have to study for the exam that day.I understood the mom's side and also understood the frustration the girl had and I also know that the father thought it like that because he saw the mom up late. But they weren't even trying to understand the daughter..Not even a single thought how she must have felt.,Even after she explained herself..The father is like fuel for fire
If you're not a sleep deprived person you cannot hate hwari. Even the dad regret it so much.
Daughter like her is the worse, Selfish and only think about herself! Everyone is tired too her mom work the hardest here! respect girl respect
I understand the girl. if I tell someone to wake me up and they don't, I will be angry too. Like how I studied till 3am and decided to sleep for at least an hour. I put on my alarm to wake up by 4:30am and slept till 6 after turning it off. i still can't forgive myself because I couldn't cover the topic I scheduled for that morning, and it ended up coming out in the exam 25% of the question was on that topic.
but then again, her mother even stayed awake with her. boy, I wish my mum had done that for me. I don't like how she's talking like it is HER ENTITLEMENT to be treated like a queen just because she is studying. The girl was rude that's not the way to talk
I am sure she got stressed then and talked that way but would have apologized to her mother. I Mena look how they are talking in the car.
@@raniafathallah5205 she's a senior studying for exams which is understandable. But I hope the show isn't only showing her annoying side because this isn't the first time, they've posted videos of her being rude🙄
@@KpopTruthsTheyHate I don't follow this show a lot but tbh even with her being annoying I felt it isn't her personality that's bad her brother is all cheerful and funny while she someone who stay all day studying in a room to achieve her dream I don't think we can expect her to be as cheerful as her brother. Especially if with all that hard work she is still finding it difficult to get the mark she want. I totally understand her tbh. Parents are usually considerate of their children's who are in last year of highschool cause they know how hard it is. The father played baseball all his life and seem to not know how hard studying is. So he always says so what if you are studying.
@@KpopTruthsTheyHate I hope they show how she act when they are on a trip or something
The mom stayed awake the entire night but still forgot to wake her up? The mom must feel terrible about it.
5:19 that means her first bday with dad_and her dad dont even remember she might expect her first bday surprise from her dad
But this is real. It's hard to wake up when your body and mind are so exhausted. Once one day I was so tired from hectic work, the next day I didn't wake up even though the alarm went off and my grandma banged on my bedroom door (luckily it's my day off), that's where I realized how tired my body was.
I can relate with their daughter since she askedd nicely and depended on her mom for an exam. Students have it stressful as well with school they shouldn't compare it with work or whatnot because its a different area of survival. The dad got worked up too fast he has to learn to control his temper especially if they don't have much connection with their kids:/
The people who keep saying Korean OppArS are sweet and lovely and perfect should watch these clips to get a wake up call🤣🤣🤣
I understand the Hwari situation in its stressful state of study, exam and course work. this is really tiring and makes me depressed because I am the child of family hope. sometimes I also inadvertently scolded my mother/father or my family and I knew the act was wrong but when the situation calmed down I never forgot to apologize to them. Thankful that all my family said they understood and tried to understand my situations. I appreciate that my family always support me. 🫶🏻
i hope Hwari can be gentle with her family members tho cause they still her family. Family should understand each other !!
im sorry for my bad english hihihi
I understand Hwari since I was in the same circumstance, but what she did was terrible. I did the same thing to my father because of stress and lack of sleep, and I really regretted it that day. After all, it's an instinctual reaction, and I'm sure she regretted it later that day.
I am around same age as that kid since my mom does many of the house work while doing a job my father literally wakes me up feed me and take care of me.before blaming the child dad needs to learn how to share housework and help with the children. When exams are near we work for all nights and it is hard to wake up alone.Father should have taken care of her instead of acting immature.I'm really lucky to have my parents
If i talk to my mom like that , she would have already slapped me 😂
bruh the flip flop
Ik the feeling she had, but the thing is, She knows that that day she had an exam and had to wake up early and that is her sense of responsibility, just cause you’re mother didn’t make you up doesn’t mean all the blame is up to her. She should should have kept it in her mind that it is her’s responsibility and not her mother’s !
I couldn't relate this because i never expect others to wake me up,i just set tons of alarms 😂and my mom always gets up late too so i just wake up on my own 🤣
So what she should be thankful for is that she has parent, food & shelter
Very simple, don't say you'll wake her up if you will forget.
The mom literally CHOSE to stay up late, it’s definitely not the daughters fault. Also, the dad makes me so mad. He wasn’t even in the conversation, yet he still chose to bud in. This is exactly how my dad acts and that’s why I don’t have a good relationship with him.
Regardless if its your birthday or not being rude to your parents is NOT acceptable
I'll just cry out my frustration 😅 she's a tough one.
yes i also do this i put an alarm, also our mom is the one who cooks for us, they only have 2 hands, but for them all works they do.
the child is definitely right, she keeps the responsibility of being diligent to her studies, she does her part of responsibilities.
People are so quick to not understand her POV and will use the fact that she’s at a “big age” to do things herself but once she actually outright says she’s at said age suddenly she’s just a child hopefully someone gets my point
And not to mention he can’t even remember her bday so that is already a bad point
Amount of ppl thinking the way she talk to her mother is okay kinda surprise me...that how u talk to ur parents? With that tone?
Woahh that attitude...
It wouldn't escalate that much if the dad didn't join in the conversation.
Who knows that someone loves her and starts using indifference to get more attention, but she doesn't know that one day this person who loves you will kick you away because you Grumpy, selfish and rude
The father was angry because the mother did not sleep well and worried about her daughter, and when the daughter woke up, she began to blame her mother, who was suffering because of her.
Finally somebody said it
You're demonizing a teenage girl just because she wants to get into a good school to land a decent job in a very competitive job market and a society with a high standard of living.
I feel her , honestly.... When u sleep late and hoping to wake up early , alarm is no use at this point even when i wanted to....
That’s not the way to speak to ur mother . Specially if she is a caring mother like this .Period .
I love watching this family. Dad is right here, never allow your children to talk rudely to their mum. This was a teaching moment for her.
That man is never in the right he should take his own advice
The dad has right to scolded her. She will be uni student soon. She need to take some responsibility.

If I'm correct Hwari's Birthday is February 21 . oh! We have same birthdate😳❣️
