- Here's my first thoughts on the Canon P and how it suits my shooting style. There ergonomics and basic camera functions make this the perfect everyday camera coupled with the tough build quality makes it a contender for my favorite 35mm camera.

Just got my Canon P today. Loading it up tomorrow! Great video...
I picked one of these up off of eBay and can't wait to use it. It had a shutter issue (not firing at speeds over 1/60) so that's getting fixed and CLA'd. I'm like a kid waiting by the mailbox every day.
It’s a very solid camera. You’re gonna love it
Awesome video dude! I’ve been shooting with my Canon P for about a year and a half on my channel and I’ve absolutely loved it! The build quality is amazing! You’re right, there isn’t a lot of info about these cameras other than forums. I’ll have to do a review soon as well with my thoughts
Thanks so much for watching man
I just got a Canon 7 from Japan and already it's my favorite camera I remember seeing one with the 0.95 lens on it almost 60 years ago when I was in the Navy in yokosuka and drooled all over the counter but as a poor sailor I thought I couldn't afford it,if I had known what that lens would be going for today I would have figured out a way to get it
Great video on a great camera! I love the Canon Rangefinders from the mid to late 50's. Classic in every way.
I agree. Great cameras
Yeah love this camera a lot! I use canon P as well and so far so good 😊
I just got one of these! Lots of fun for an older camera. The 50 mm 1.4 LTM is dope! Good review man.
I got the Canon F1 to have a pure mechanical camera. It still has a light meter built in but everything else is pure mechanism. It's also highly customizable. If you're ever hit with the pure mechanical bug, would recommend trying to get one!
About the only thing the Canon P and Contax T2 have in common is 35mm film. If you are going to buy and use a Canon rangefinder camera, the P is an excellent choice. The later models, 7 and 7S, are a significant advancement in features and quality, particularly the viewfinder, but they are heavier, larger, and almost no shop will service them. The clip on meter shown works on the P and the VI, which is a fine alternative body, similar to P with a more complex viewfinder. The meter is selenium cell driven, and the majority of them no longer work and are not practically repairable for lack of parts. Enjoy it while you can. As for shooting the P, it's very usable, and it takes nearly all Leica thread mount lenses, including the pre-M-mount lenses from Japanese Voigtlander, which are outstanding.
Ah yes, that was the point I was trying to make. The goal was to get a camera that was completely opposite of the T2.
Thank you for watching Randall
Nice video, been using it for awhile and love it. Dropped to a concrete floor and still like a beast without a scratch. Just kinda happy that not many famous TH-camrs mentioned it tho… Keep the real good camera affordable for the real shooters
Such a great and slept on camera lol
Great video man
Hello. I would like some advice. I can't decide between VL and P which one should I choose. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each one? And the 50mm chrome lens, which one should I choose, 1.2 or 1.4?
Ooooo - if I can find one - I’ll buy one 👍🏼
great video ive just bought one! one question is wat is the little circle above the lens?
it’s your rangefinder
🔥🔥
🙏🏽🤟🏽
The light meter completely ruins the lines of the P. After shooting it for about a month, you won't even need a light meter. The P is one of my cameras I'll never sell. I use the 50mm f1.4 and Voigtlander 35mm f2.5 on mine and I absolutely love it for travel photography. Congrats on your Canon P.
Hello. I would like to ask for your advice. Right now I'm interested in the Canon VI and P. I can't decide since they're both beautiful. Which one should I choose? And is there a 50 mm 1.4 chrome lens and is it expensive? Or is there any substitute?
both are cool cameras.. just depends on which one you want more
@@anybodyshoots What are the weak points of each model? And the viewfinder is cloudy and unclear in VI, is that true? I've never tried to touch or look at either.
These cameras are becoming a little pricey. Act now because they’ll just get pricier
nice video and nice hunterxhunter shirt :) good to see someone who's not pushing cameras that are 2k+
Dude thanks so much for watching! i really appreciate it
i see the seattle hat, you from washington?
Nah man I’m not lol I just like hats a lot
There were literally 6 canon rangefinders before the p
Cool story
