I happened to get lucky and find a Maverick 88 with the removable forend (purchased from Wal-Mart a little over a year ago). After doing quite a bit of reading I found that apparently they sent out a fairly small amount of them with the 500 forend setup with the action tube and forend being separate held on with the forend nut vs it all being one piece with the arms molded into the forend. They are out there but finding them could be an issue.
Appreciate your pointing out the changes that are entailed by addition of this stock and pistol grip. It all looks very cool, but I think I'm staying with my stock stock and fore end for now.
The reason I love this stock setup as a new shooter: I had a big surprise firing my 12 gauge the first time. It kicked my ass all afternoon, but I was always able to resort to firing from the hip using the pistol grip instead, and still able to land slugs on target after 1 miss or so. Great fun either way!!! XD
I think the ATI stock conversion I bought for my Mav 88 is a little less functional than this. For one thing, it does not slope down to allow for better sight alignment. Also the side saddle was an extra accessory I had to purchase from ATI. Another great video Rod!
Hey Rod, many thanks for all you do! I thought I'd share with you that Ultimate Arms Gear has posted that they don't ship internationally, and are completely ignoring my attempts to contact them to confirm. Not sure what that's all about. Great vid, hope many more to follow!
I just put the ATI Six-position Talon on my 500, best modification I've ever done to a gun. It's just a beauty now. I found the action release to be a bit awkward as mentioned, but that's a small price to pay. I skipped the forend tho, I don't see the point. Looks uncomfortable and if you put anything on those rails, wouldn't you need a vertical foregrip to cycle it comfortably? No thanks. Anyway, great vid as usual Rod.
well i feel the pistol grip on a shotgun is really only needed for the tactical or maaaaybe the security models, but it is all about what your comfortable with.Im find with the way the all purpose model is just fine as is.I was able to pick up my maverick at Dicks for 219.00 and thought it a great price although i have heard of them in other states even cheaper.I just purchased a tow point shell sling for it.installing it as i speak and watching gun videos in the back ground! :) ll
Hey Rod, are you going to do some range videos on shooting and range gear anytime? I'd like to see what different people bring to the range and what not. I'm a new member of our local gun club and would like to see what kind of setup I should get Thanks
can someone plz help me ,, where can i get that tri rail for the 20 gauge mavrick 88 , i went to that web site , i dont no wat forend it is for my 20 gauge
Whats the legal length when it goes from Non-Restricted to Restricted? My instructor was extremely vague about this and indicated that multi-position adjustable stocks may take the shotgun to a Restricted classification but many people say you need to go right down to a pistol grip only to reach the minimum length. Thanks
I took my Mossberg Maverick 88 with its shortest barrel (18.5 inches) and removed the stock completely (meaning no stock and no pistol grip) and then I measured it to see if it would still fall into the 26 inch overall length for Non Restricted. I was pleased to find out that the firearm at that point was still 26 inches overall and had even a little room for error. So feel safe that in Canada you may purchase nearly any shotgun and apply a pistol grip or adjustable stock to it and still be within legal limits. But please do not take my word for it, simply look up the laws in place and take measurements of your firearms if necessary. I hope this helps some.
Ultimate Arms Gear are thieves. Not sure how eBay allows them to continue to sell. Terrible company. I rather pay twice as much to avoid dealing with them.
Ultimate Arms Gear states that is a "wholesale or dealer" site. Does not appear to be a general public website.

Misleading title, didn't show us anything, you just talked about what you did. SMH
Bought a mossberg 590A1 Tactical with a mesa 6 round side saddle and a Ontario M-9 bayonet last week......it was my B-day and I LOVE it; Awesome gun
Knoxx Sidewinder upgrade gives the Maverick 88 a drum magazine upgrade: 10 rounds / 2-¾"
wish you had filmed some close up shots of the forend & stock
Not a fan of those types of stocks on shot guns but love that for-end upgrade

P.S. Does that fore end allow for easy attachment of a flashlight?
thin grips are great when you have tiny hands like me

Are you able to post links for the forend and stock? I was not able to find them on their website
It appears that john q public cannot buy from that link provided in the description.

Great video! I had to pull my 88 to knock the dust off it. Time for an upgrade!

You ever find one? I know this is way late but I’m looking into getting a forend for my maverick 88 20 gauge?
website link goes nowwhere?
Everything on a maverick 88 will change out with Mossberg 500 except the trigger Assembly
And the forend.

26" overall length is the minimum if it can be fired at that length.

i really want a forend like that with the extra rounds. Anyone know links?
it's about 50 more dollars than it is in the US
Cool upgrade!
Cool Review And Simple.👍
how rugged is the stock upgrade?
Man that fore end sucks (who needs so much rail?? Hurts the hands!) but stock looks good.
i think its just right for me.1st thing i did was take out the plug.Im fine without the pistol grip and can fit 6shells
Awesome makeover!
You didn't show any removal, or installation.
Link domain up for sale.
Unfortunate that the only retailers I can find that carry this stuff any more are all in the US, rip.
nice pistol stock im thinking of investing
as always love the vids. keep em coming. Thanks.
Good review, helpful..subbed.
That website doesn't work.
Another thing, your ultimate arms gear guys,... They're wholesale & dealer,... why are you recommending them to regular citizens?
8 years later there’s tons of add on parts
can make it pistol grip
I made the mistake of buying a Mac 88 with a 28 inch barrel. I have been waiting 3 1/2 years for a 18 1/2 inch barrel from Mossberg. Vey disappointed.
Just have a Gunsmith cut the barrel down to a 18.5 or search for one online
Website is down so, don't count on that brand
The company is gone it seems good thing I did not want to much time.
i paid 80 at a gun show
Mlok on loading grip lol really
that stock is not fun to shoot with at all
yea right its a BLAST
