    27:10 Ancient city Rainbow ruins is the only field spell with a SS2 effect, and yes, you cannot use it until the card activation resolves.
    Currently there's no equip nor continuos spell with SS2.

    A continuous trap is considered to be face up on the field after it's been activated but before it resolves. If you do CL1 eternal soul, CL2 MST popping it, it still triggers its grave effect (which requires it to leave the field while face up). With that being said there's simply a ruling that you cannot chain an continuous trap's effect to its activation. So you can't do CL1 activate ultimate offering (for example), CL2 ultimate offering's effect but once it's face up you can do: CL1 UO's effect, CL2 UO's effect, CL3....

    22:27 I love grindy games, but I only find them fun if there's actual back and forth. When you and you're opponent are just staring at each other because of a floodgate, that's not exactly enjoyable, at least for me.

    The best way to learn about timing is to play a Control deck in Goat Format for a month (just hop on DB ladder). Timing is one of the more intricate parts of the format and especially of Control decks.

    Mystic Mine is not the most toxic floodgate, but it was the most accessible toxic floodgate.

    • @rand6412
      @rand6412 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not the most splashable card. When you activate it it does not win games by itself. You have to build a deck around it. Combo decks eventually need to remove Mine to attack for damage. If the Mine players only win condition is deck out, but if the opponent has more cards in deck the Mine player loses.

    • @lmr4403
      @lmr4403 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      @@rand6412 I don't mean per se splashable when I say "accessible" (though it was in almost every side deck at some point).
      Mystic Mine is a fieldspell, they had many ways to get it: metaverse, teraforming, set rotation, demise of lands, planet pathfinder, etc.
      Compared to any floodgate continuous trap: typically not searchable and takes a whole turn to be able to activate it.

      I think overall without a banlist, especially with modern Yu-Gi-Oh taken into consideration, Shock Master would ultimately be the most toxic floodgate
      Yeah its effect isn't permanent like most others, but it's so crippling that it's just as harmful

      @@totalwartimelapses6359 Yes, it is among the strongest. Though also a bit format depended as it does require a bit rank/level 4 dedication, so in the upcoming fire format it would probably be used less. It requiring 3 lvl 4s into a non-negated effect, you would typically be already on the winning hand through e.g. links.
      If you use a deck with a lot of lvl 4 dedication to summon Shock Master; there is a rank 4 that literally skips your opponents turn instead (that nobody uses except the random md tellarknight-constellar deck).
      These are just minor asterisks, Shock Master would be in most going first boards as a very toxic card.

    Do you not realize that Spoofing is an awful card at this point?
    Nah, I personally like the idea of having an extra normal. But even if not that, we need a better enabler than Haunted Rock, which might be the worst individual card in the entire game. And it'd also be nice to have a one card combo that actually does literally anything

    It’s not a Josh stream without at least one hot take.
    Didn’t see the “ASF/TCBOO more toxic than Mystic Mine” coming and his argument for it was a head scratcher to say the least especially when he had contradicting statements present.
    . “You can play around it” and brings up Rikka as a case in point that does indeed out Mine just because it’s one the very few decks where it can reliably manipulate its own monster count. If you play the other 98% of decks that don’t have in engine way to do this? GGs I guess. You might as well say Maxx C isn’t toxic if you play a deck that just normal summons/rarely special summon.
    Meanwhile ASF and even TCBOO is WAAY easier to deal with on top of being no where near as consistent as Mine. Nobody was searching ASF/TCBoo at the time unlike what people did with Mine. Those trap flood cards are literally out by any chain pop or because it’s a trap a pop when it’s not even active (more decks can do this then do what Rikka did to out Mine).
    ASF turn 2 also dead AF just like other floods such as Summon Limit. Mystic Mine being a field spell flood is objectively better then a cont trap flood due to the turn of use flexibility and higher consistency
    Back in the day people were winning tournaments with crap like Ojama Mystic Mine with those players wanting to make a point by how much Mystic Mine can carry you to encourage the card to get banned. ASF is only objectively comparably broken in a specific format: Pend format. GL waiting for that. If Josh brought up IO instead then that would be a different story since that has way more flexible use.

      @@Greg501- Yes. The main difference is that mystic mine is not answered by cards that tend to answer most other decks, and are usually not searchable. So what happens is that people would even main deck these cards because the deck would get tops/wins. As more people put mystic mine hate in their decks, the deck starts getting less and less used. Eventually people stop putting as much hate in their decks since it hardly comes up, to which later mystic mine shows up again and immediately tops again.
      This cycle has happened MULTIPLE times, each time with next to no innovation in the deck itself, and these cycles would continue to this day if mystic mine wasn't banned.
