I love when transformers use their alt modes in battle or partly transform while fighting. It makes them seem more like transforming robots rather than robots and vehicles, if you get my meaning.
That was a moment worthy of Bumblebee himself. I rarely ever see Optimus getting creative at utilizing his bot/vehicle modes and that moment gives me chills every time.

When Optimus Prime gets even more serious than he already is, it is a wrap. If Dark Energon wasn't a factor, Optimus definitely would have killed Megatron. Seeing that optimism Optimus had for Megatron for eons crumble is heartbreaking. From here, the show and the fight will continue to be it's own.
A little detail i love about this fight is that it shows what fighting styles Megatron and Optimus excel at. Megatron clearly has the edge in hand to hand combat as he was landing far more blows then Optimus. Optimus has the edge in sword fighting as he started landing blows and even started to get the edge over over him which is why Megatron stopped using his sword the second he got the change and instantly landed two brutal hits. Optimus was sent flying and since Megatron has greater firepower at range Optimus was at an incredible disadvantage and had he tried to block the shots and go back to "typical" fighting like he did earlier there was a big change he would lose. So he used his truck mode to quickly close the distance, something that clearly took Megatron by surprise and allowed to optimus to regain the edge as he knocked megaron of the cliffside. Then deciding to blind him to insure that Megatron couldn't regain the edge. Megatrons brute strength and durability is insane as it took a dozen critical blows just to knock him the ground. Optimus did not land even one blow when the two where gong at it with just their fists and even with his sword the edge was not big so if he hadn't blinded Megatron then he probably would have lost or at the very least struggled way more then he already was. It as his creativity, surprisingly dirty fighting and of the wall thinking that allowed him to win. Along with his power boosting blood rage ofc.

This and the next episode parts are Amazing, especially for a season finale. Just seeing Optimus and Bee's reactions to Raphael's conditions are enough to know that things just go serious, and That Fight with Prime and Megatron is Spectacular
The decepticon ship The nemesis is I think is the big Godzilla I forgot his name I remember his name now it is Trypticon the Decepticon warship or the nemesis as it is called is the exact same ship from Transformers Fall of Cybertron at the very end of the game
yeah it was a giant prehistoric cybertronian that they retrofitted as a ship because it already flew... which makes me wonder... if a autobot died... could someone drive it as a car without ever knowing
this was a great episode now we see Optimus has in a sense taken the gloves off with megs now that Raphael was hurt like I said he has his limits and ratchet had good character stuff same with everyone else I mean Optimus and megs were close once as you saw in tf one and Optimus said himself that Optimus had hope to get through to the bot he once was and it was great seeing bee and arcee bound is nice and now we see that arcee can be a good mentor for jack and others and yeah ratchet and June did good saving Raphael and ratchet did have a good moment with his lament of not learning human medicine and I get the feeling after this he read up on a ton of human medical journals
*Now* we get to the good stuff. Not that it wasn't good before but this is the culmination of the 'Rising Darkness' spoken of in the pilot. Fitting that you'd watch this so soon after Transformers One showing the beginning of Optimus and Megatron as friends even if it's a different continuity. Things continue to ramp up for the next 3 episodes, savor them well.
Megatron is not the Rising Darkness, something much more ancient, terrible and infinitely powerful then all the Decepticons put together is. It's been under their noses the whole time.
Optimus is a patient bot (usually), but collateral damage and cruelty tend to be effective ways of pushing his buttons. Just be prepared for the results to be... unnerving. And highly dangerous.
Glad you got to start on the best season finale of the show. I really appreciate how Ratchet learned how much he needed Raf since to me his character arc is learning about how to appreciate humanity.
I wonder what you think about seeing Optimus and Megatron here. For them, it's been thousands of years that they've been enemies for. This is sort of a very aged conflict now, and I'm wondering what you think of seeing them like this, given how we saw them as brothers in Transformers One, which you reacted to a while back. I'd consider Transformers One as loose canon to Transformers Prime. The details of the story of Orion Pax and D-16 are different but the story flows the same direction. And if you think this fight was good, just you wait. The action continues to improve as the show progresses. There was one particular 2v1 in season 3 that people consider the best fight in the entire show.
I really love Ratchet's character development. The quality of the show is so inconsistent becuse they production team had a ton of difficulties (monetary, conflict of vision etc).
After seeing Transformers One, it's tragic to see Optimus willing to kill Megatron, his former best friend. That movie is not canon, but their friendship in general is canon
