The text of this Carmelite chant is an extract from a poem to the Holy Spirit, written by Edith Stein, in religion Sister Teresa Benedicta de la Cruz (1891-1942), who died in Auschwitz. German philosopher and theologian of Jewish origin, she took up the habits of the Carmelites and was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1998.
