I used to play it all the time as a kiddo. The final boss was always super hard though.

Those NES ports were literally a rom loaded into a version of the PocketNES emulator for the GBA. It's typically done in foreign markets and multi-carts.

those gremlins games had good music surprisingly
the shimmering that happens with some GBA ports of NES games is because they scaled the image down, but the GBA doesn't have any scaling hardware, so they just discard lines of the image, and then rotate out which lines are being discarded so details aren't lost. animal crossing's NES games work the same way when shoved into a GBA
