That moment when Elster touches the ship and all the noise stops ..... this entire cutscene is breathtaking, but that segment always gets me. Its like she quiets down her and Arianes mind - Im here, Im home. Ive come for you. I haven't forgotten
I remember when I first saw this, I genuinely thought it was the end of the game. As soon as her arm popped off, I was like, "aww, I got the bad ending." Then she died, and the credits rolled. I was so certain it was real. I sighed, contemplated watching a big lore video because I had no idea what just happened. Said to myself, "No, I'll play through the game one more time. I obviously missed a ton of stuff." I hit "begin" on the main menu, and promptly had my mind blown.
I really thought it was the end and looked up Signalis ending explanation but saw a video talking about multiple endings and so I thought that it was too mentally exhausting to play again so I watched it; early in the video, the moment I heard "false ending", I immediately recalled that there was so much stuff I saw in the trailer that I didn't get to experience so I went back to the game. Still playing atm.
When I played, I knew there's be multiple endings, but assumed it'd be a NG+ type deal where they'd change around what doors were accessible and which ones weren't. That said, I wanted to rest and decompress after the scene, so I tried to exit the game. Now, I played the PC version, not the PS5 version, which means in place of the "Manual" button on the main menu, it's the "quit" button. If you try to quit on the PC version after the false ending, the game will _immediately_ play out like you just hit "begin," and I realised, "Oh, something's _up,_ I'll have to do this again in the morning."
I played through, got to this point and was like "that was it? really? that was disappointing." and tried to quit thinking that was the end. when I pressed the quit button and it booted up a new game my jaw DROPPED
I already knew there were a few endings so as soon as the arm flew off I thought, "oh... Is this the ending where I die?" Sure enough, we see that lifeless body and the fading of the eyes, so I think "damn, got the worst ending. Ah well, it's late, I should probably get to bed..." So I'm on the menu screen and I click quit. But I see the loading screen. At first I'm thinking "what's going on? Maybe it's automatically getting me back into a new run?" Then, I wandered out into the cockpit... And I see space. THE CONFUSION WAS IMMEASURABLE.
Watching this because I accidentally pressed RMB and skipped parts of it, then said "fuck it" and skipped the rest, hoping to reload the save before I entered.
Does anyone else hear that weird buzzing at 1:12-1:13? I thought it was just in my recording of my playthrough but it seems to be an in-game sound. I wonder if it's related to Falke going mad?

Same. I was playing it last night and I was fooled beyond my belief when it turned out to not be the end of the game.

Thanks for posting. My two year old woke up right in the middle of this cutscene and I had to jet and get her.

it's part of the music ! "The Red Gate" it's very hard to tell who's those screams are meant to be though
@@Grenat thank you for clarifying! I'm glad someone else figured it out.
@@GrenatI love listening to this track to sleep as the screams of the damned gradually phase in to sing me lullabies
