I wish they would have put this scene in the show. They could have done the Bill and Frank story AND this, if they split it into two episodes, and just have Bill obey Frank and not poison himself. Then, after Bill buries Frank, have him about to blow his own brains out and fall in the hole next to Frank, and then Bill's alarm goes off because Joel gets caught in a trap. Have Bill hesitate a moment, then the OCD forces him to go look, and then do this entire sequence. Then you could finish it with Bill finally killing himself. I get that it wouldn't have the same emotional impact of the two dying together, nor would it have the liminal space of Joel and Ellie finding the plants untended and dust on the table. But for sacrificing those two things, you'd still get 95% of the Bill and Frank story from the show, as well as the entire story from the game here.

Holy shit I CAN'T get over this sequence. It's whole density coming down to a single line of text and, out of nowhere, a transition to a whole other PLANET. For me the best, yet the simplest, scene in gaming history. It also includes by favourite bit of soundtrack from the game.

Does anyone else hear that weird buzzing at 1:12-1:13? I thought it was just in my recording of my playthrough but it seems to be an in-game sound. I wonder if it's related to Falke going mad?

i have no idea what is goin on here but this is like playing on super easy mode on PC, if this is hardcore mode on PS5 then theres a massive difference in difficultly, im totally stuck on this on PC in hardcore mode and it doesnt let you make any of the mistakes in this video even once :/

I already knew there were a few endings so as soon as the arm flew off I thought, "oh... Is this the ending where I die?" Sure enough, we see that lifeless body and the fading of the eyes, so I think "damn, got the worst ending. Ah well, it's late, I should probably get to bed..." So I'm on the menu screen and I click quit. But I see the loading screen. At first I'm thinking "what's going on? Maybe it's automatically getting me back into a new run?" Then, I wandered out into the cockpit... And I see space. THE CONFUSION WAS IMMEASURABLE.

Thanks for this. I tried doing this normally but the room gets absolutely flooded with plaga enemies if you don't get rid the red leader first. Killing him first made this room pretty easy, walked out of it with more stuff than I had before.

Took me 2 dam long 2 pass this dam thing.. make sure u have plenty of health... use the cannons while strafing ..last hit will require you 2 use kineses and throw back orange sacks back at it... while making sure you have oxygen, avoiding the tentacles , and projectiles ! Dam it

I remember when I first saw this, I genuinely thought it was the end of the game. As soon as her arm popped off, I was like, "aww, I got the bad ending." Then she died, and the credits rolled. I was so certain it was real. I sighed, contemplated watching a big lore video because I had no idea what just happened. Said to myself, "No, I'll play through the game one more time. I obviously missed a ton of stuff." I hit "begin" on the main menu, and promptly had my mind blown.

Thanks for posting. My two year old woke up right in the middle of this cutscene and I had to jet and get her.
