Beautiful stitching and finishing!! I've made both the Shine-on quilt and the sampler...in the original colors. I love them both!! The book is fabulous! I live about 10 minutes from Lori Holt...I keep thinking someday I might see her in Hobby Lobby! 😂🎉❤
Lovely WIPs! I’ve “private” stitch along with you for the Strawberry Field, now I’m so tempted to quilt along with you as well! I’m a super beginner quilter but if I’ve the dresses quilt chart I’ll definitely quilt along with you !❤
Love your project keeper. I've never thought to keep the selvage but think I will now. The Millies dress pattern, I would probably break into my liberty stash. Crafty hugs
Your Baby It’s Cold Outside is beautiful. I’ve had that cross stitch kit for a while and after seeing how lovely yours is, may have given me the push to start it. Millie’s Dresses is such a cute quilt pattern along with the vintage fabric for it. Lovely podcast.
Always enjoy your videos. Your mini project keeper is beautiful. Great idea using the selvages. Lori holt dress pattern is very cute. I would love to join the sew along. 😊
I really like the frame you chose for Baby it’s Cold Outside. It really shows off your beautiful stitching. Your project keeper turned out great. Love your use of the selvages! Dresses
Always great to see you and your stitching progress. I love your Project Keeper what a brilliant idea with your Selvedges! I’m kicking myself now but from here on in I shall definitely be saving all of mine 😊
I love to see your stitching Nicola. I love the dresses quilt and you are right it would look lovely made out of stash fabric too although we all love Lori Holt fabrics. I have some but can’t cut into it ! Best wishes.
Nicola, your "Baby It's Cold Outside" is one of the loveliest I have ever seen: the fabric is gorgeous, the colors are so rich, it is a gorgeous piece!! Congratulations on a wonderful project.
Just catching up on your flosstube. Loved your baby it’s cold outside and your pillow finish is so pretty. What a great idea you had for your project keeper it’s great
What a wonderful video! I thoroughly enjoyed myself! Your finishes look fantastic!! Congratulations! Millie’s dresses is going to be lovely! I love Lori Holt’s Mercantile line as well as all the others! LOL I think your Token of Love is going to look great! Happy stitching!
I loved your Floss Tube today and am very inspired by your selvedge project keeper. I have a whole box full of them and must start something! I thought your opening FFO of the village house was so cute. Could you use the snowflake charm(s) you showed in your haul as a replacement for the button? I love Lori's quilt pattern so yes to the Dresses! Thanks for sharing your stitching life Nicola.
Lovely to see you back with some lovely finishes. I too have admired Lori Holt’s pattern Millie’s Dresses and would love to sew a quilt with her fabrics. It’s summer in Australia so a dress to wear is cool and comfy. I also loved the valentine cross stitch pattern. Not sure if I’m brave enough to dye some linen but I do have some rosy red linen from Number 12 stitch co.
Love your flosstubes! I feel your pain re: wonky framing LOL! I finally figured out that what works for me is to pin it all first then lace. This way the pins hold it all in place and then lace. Then remove the pins for the next one. The only thing is you want to put your push your pins in fairly close so the thread doesn't catch to much. If you try it, I hope it helps you as much as it helped me!
I spent my Christmas in Grantham and Waddington visiting my grandchildren. We shopped in Lincoln and went to the Christmas market in Nottingham. I thoroughly enjoy your videos! Dresses
Loved your finish! Try pinning first before lacing. Also, have you thought about coffee dyeing that cherry red to make it more prim? I loved the freebie! Happy Quilting and stitching! Oh, that project keeper is gorgeous!
Baby it’s Cold Outside looks great. It is hard to frame a piece with a border. A flosstuber I watch said she stitches a straight line around the project (a running stitch) and that gives her a straight line to use when pinning or lacing to the board. I tried that and I felt it helped me get a piece straighter
Fabulous finishes Nicola :) I would love to sew Millie's dresses with you - I will have some fabric left from the Mercantile sampler which I haven't even started yet - Lori's quilts are so lovely x
I keep talking about making the small ironing board to put next to my sewing machine but now maybe making the Millie’s dresses quilt will push me to get the ironing board done!
oh my goodness that Millie’s Dresses pattern is gorgeous and those fabrics will definitely be on my to do list. Always lovely to see all the stitchy goodness as well xxxx
I’m just kitting up Baby it’s Cold Outside in the hop t will be finished for next Christmas. Also loved your Glitter Village finish too. Would love to sew the Lori Holt quilt those are the only dresses I will ever make as I’m no good at dressmaking!
I always look forward to your floss tube episodes. You do beautiful stitching. It’s like having a visit with you even though I’m in the United States. I love the dresses pattern.
Nicola, you are just what I needed today. Your video helped to get my mind off a medical condition that took me to the hospital this a.m. I get a real boost out of seeing what you,ve been creating. So beautiful. Till next time, happy stitching. I know I,ll be stitching.
Hi Nicola. Great to see what you’ve been up to. I love your frame choice for the Baby it’s cold outside stitch. You’re right about the mat breakin* up the brown and picking up on the snowflakes. Getting the lacing straight can be tricky but at least you can go back and fiddle with it a wee bit to get it how you need it. It will be worth it for such a lovely piece. Your little Glitter Village cushion is very sweet too.
I loved your planner and all of your finishes. I am making my first quilt following a Fat Quarter Shop pattern and videos, so I can’t wait to see your Millie’s Dresses. 👗 Love all the free patterns from FQS. Hands down my favorite place to shop. Dress
Well done on all of your finishes! Love Baby it's Cold Outside and your project keep with the fabric edges. Keep cosy inside with your stitching. ❤🧵🪡✂️
Thanks for another enjoyable floss tube, I do have the Shine On pattern but for some reason missed the conversion sheet to DMC so really appreciate your covering that. I am a child of the 50’s and Millie’s Dresses does so remind me of the “house dresses” my Mum used to wear.. Did you ever find the vintage Santa style mugs you were on the hunt for?
I love it that you are back with more episodes ♥️♥️ a dress or dresses I love that pattern and want to stitch along with you!!! I also really liked the idea of the embellishment being drawn through your little pillow!!
Wondering, since Eve isn't wearing any dresses, if you could bring her long hair under her arm & curl it over her private area? Just a thought. Love hearing all of your ideas & seeing your progress on Wips. Your finishes are wonderful! Thank you for another inspiring video!
Wonderful finishes, and great use of those pretty selvages. I think I too would like to do the Shine On Sampler. I might be coming to England in April. My daughter is there on a 2 year youth visa, and working at Fortnum and Mason’s. Just waiting to hear if she can get the week off. She is lodging with a lady in Belham, so I’ll be there, and also we will visit our neighbour here in Canada’s mother in Henfield. I’ll get to see the east coast in West Sussex! Might go to Brighton too. Also we are going to The Cotswolds. I want to visit villages like all the British mysteries I watch. 😊
Hi. We totally understand the wonky finishing. Happens all the time to me too! I loved your mini keeper made from salvages. Did you not do a bag with salvage ends as well?
Laughing at eve’s new bikini belt maybe Adam can wear a mankini. Really need to get back into quilting so looking forward to watching your progress and maybe join in on dress quilt x
Do you pin the edges before you lace or, I run a line of regular thread along the edge to keep it lined up while I lace. Sometimes I do both. Had to laugh when you showed it to Justin and his comment was, it’s wonky.
So funny about clothes on Eve. I'm doing All Creatures Great and Small and I put clothes on my EVE. LOL!! I just chose a green color and colored the body stitches. So funny!! It has a snake wrapped around the tree and I hate snakes and I really do not want to stitch the snake but I will.
You have really been very busy!! Congratulations on getting so many finishes and the overall progress on such a variety of projects! I have read a number of comments on "helps" with getting a finished piece ready for lacing. I think the idea of adding a line of thread is brilliant! I have also used Wonder Clips to hold my pieces to the mat board I use to lace them onto. I would use pins to temporarily hold the piece, but there isn't a lot of depth with the mat board, so in a bit of desperation, I used the Wonder Clips and it works for me. Still have to do a lot of checking and double-checking to make sure it stays mostly straight (possibly just because I know how most things I do are a bit wonky), but it is better than just "hoping for the best." Anyway, just an idea. Thanks for the video! Happy Stitching!
Love how you used the salvage for the project keeper. The dresses quilt will be such a up lifting project for spring. Keep on stitching.
Beautiful stitching and finishing!! I've made both the Shine-on quilt and the sampler...in the original colors. I love them both!! The book is fabulous!
I live about 10 minutes from Lori Holt...I keep thinking someday I might see her in Hobby Lobby! 😂🎉❤
You must feel so accomplished having so many finished at the start of the year. The dresses pattern is super cute.
Lovely WIPs! I’ve “private” stitch along with you for the Strawberry Field, now I’m so tempted to quilt along with you as well! I’m a super beginner quilter but if I’ve the dresses quilt chart I’ll definitely quilt along with you !❤

Made an ironing board cover on the top of a cheap Walmart TV tray. Works great! Loved your flamingo piece (I used to live in Las Vegas)! 🦩
Thank you for the heads up about the WGLY Spring Box! Love there stuff! ❤

Hi. We totally understand the wonky finishing. Happens all the time to me too! I loved your mini keeper made from salvages. Did you not do a bag with salvage ends as well?
Love your dyed fabric- either one would be beautiful!
Nicola, you've really been getting things done. Good for you.
