I'm here because Lithuania so generously donates COVID-19 vaccines to Taiwan. We Taiwanese are very grateful and everyone wants to thank Lithuanian people badly. I want to learn Lithuanian, and hopefully visit your country one day. Labai ačiū
Thanks for posting this course. I'm Lithuanian-American and I first visited Lithuania two years ago and met my cousins there. I brought a translator to the village. Last year, I took my mom who had also never been to Lithuania, and we didn't use a translator and communicated the best we could with our cousins. I promised them next time I would speak some Lithuanian, and I plan to visit them again in the summer. This series looks like the perfect resource for me to accomplish my goal of being able to easily communicate with my cousins!
Thank you Kevin for your comment! I really believe that you are going to enjoy learning and your Lithuanian will be wonderful. We are waiting for you in Lithuania this summer. Don't hesitate to ask if you need more help.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Very cool story! I hope it was a great visit. I am also of Lithuanian descent. I love this teacher. It’s amazing how much I started to remember from my early childhood listening to him!
That's wonderful! I want to meet my cousins and learn everything!!! My grandparents went to local Lithuanian church but they closed down after the generations disapated locally.

After visiting Lithuania almost every year the past 25 years, this summer the shame of not having the skills to have a conversation in Lithuanian with my wonderful in-laws, finally became too much. I decided to stop using English and German and to try and learn Lithuanian. I started a month ago following Edmundas lessons. In my opinion, this is by far the best introduction into the Lithuanian language you will find on the internet. Edmundas is a natural born teacher. His lessons are practical, easy to use, encouraging and humorous. I still have a lot of lessons to enjoy. At the moment I count well over a hundred lessons. Thank you, Edmundas, for taking so much time to create this wonderful language course. I encourage everyone who is interested in learning Lithuanian to follow these lessons.
My little sister is currently studying in Lithuania to become a veterinarian, so I'm trying to get a feel for the language so I can come visit her sometime, and your courses are premium! You truly are a life saver, hope you are doing well!
I must mention, you are a fantastic teacher of this language. Would like to see more videos from you please. Your way of teaching is very good. Slow clear and easy. A must for beginners.

My grandparents immigrated to the US from Lithuania during World War II. My dad grew up with the language, and he is now fluent in 5. I would love to surprise him and my great aunt and learn some basics of this beautiful language. It is a part of my heritage, and I don’t want my dad to be the last generation in my immediate family to be fluent. I made Koldūnai with my dad recently for the first time, and it made me so happy. Thank you for this helpful introduction. Please let me know if there are other ways I can become more exposed to the language and learn it. Thank you!
So, i just met a wonderful man who is 1st generation Lithuanian and very interested in the language and culture. This is a great find, Thankyou so much! Looking forward to the lessons!!
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
So glad I found this! Finally someone who teaches in a style I can learn.. thank you so much. I wish I could speak Lithuanian properly because my partner of 4 and half years was born and grew up there so will be nice to learn so I can talk to some of his family who don’t talk much English and it’s interesting :) beautiful language but a bit difficult to learn. I already knew these words you did in this lesson but wanted to start from the beginning of your videos good thing I did because I learnt something new!! I did not know the reason why sometimes you use Gera and geras and that even objects are either masculine or feminine I thought all this time only when you talk to people you need to use the masculine feminine rule!! If that makes sense.. anyways thank you this is awesome:)
Thank you so much for your comment and encouragement! I really appreciate that. I hope other lessons will help you as well. Geras medis - good tree, medis ismasculine, so we use geras, gera knyga - good book, knyga is feminine, so we have to use gera. Does it make sense?
Ah thank you for this course. I’ve had an interest learning Lithuanian and this is a bigger help than you know. What a beautiful and inviting language!
Hello! Edmundas, its been a long while. I decided to take my Lithuanian studies seriously. I have been here already two years and always find excuses as to why I dont learn it , but I will start watching your videos all over again. I will comment them too all even if its just for my memory. But still having comments is good for you. So win win situation. Wish you the best! Hope to see you one day around Vilnius!
I am here because I have taken a interest in Lithuania because of a amazing man called Shiey i would love to meet him one day and surprise him with his own language and i must say you are a amazing teacher I an easily understand the pronunciation and usage of words can't wait to fully learn the language my goal is too become fluent ^_^
Thank you for teaching us please 😊. personally am from African Uganda but my Lithuanian girlfriend vaida negreckyte made me like this language.she really speaks it well with anice, sweet and calm voice😊
Thank you for your comment! I am glad you like Lietuva and you want to learn lietuvių kalbą or lietuvių kalbos. I would be great to speak to you lietuviškai. I hope my pamokos will help you a lot :)
Dear Edmundas, Aciu labai! Your videos are so helpful. I am a monk who just moved to Kaunas from the US. I mostly stay at the Krishna temple on Savanoriu Prospectus and I am benefiting from your lessons. I don't have any means of supporting you financially, but I admire your professional style and good manner. Keep up the good work. It would be great to meet you someday! Sincerely, Dvijamani Gaura Das
Hi! Thank you very much for sharing and teaching this language! I'm from Argentina, my grandgrandomother came from Lithuania. That's a part of my motivation to learn it. I have one extra question, if you know: where to study the etimology of this language? Regards!
Hi! You're very welcome! It's great to know that someone from Argentina is learning Lithuanian and that your roots are from here. I don't know much about Lithuanian etymology, I just know this dictionary etimologija.baltnexus.lt/
Im planming to visit Lithuania hopefully next summer if the pandemic ends , i read about the language and it is fascinating , learning Lithuanian is a must ,thank you for the lessons , it is pretty hard finding resources for this language and google doesn't offer pronounciation . Labai ačiū ponas .
Hi from India! I am a student of sanskrit and I came to know that Lithuanian and sanskrit are similar. Learning the language from your channel. Great job!
Thank you so much for this lesson ! You are a great teacher :) I teach languages too, french and Spanish, my husband is Lithuanian and we communicate in English but I would like to talk to my in laws.
Hi , how are you doing? I have been studying Lithuanian for about six months. I got tell ya , the begining was hard! I have been watching Lietuvos nacionalinis radijas ir televizija as much as I can. It helps a lot! Hopefully one day I will be able to communicate with a native.
Started today and have a goal of speaking "siaip sau" Lithuanian in 6 months. Fell in love with the country and people and am moving there asap. First course so far and seems far less intimidating as i thought it would be! Aciu!
So glad I found these videos! Hopefully one day I will be able to speak a few sentences with my girlfriends parents :D I am not good at languages but I will fight and do my best. Thank you for these lessons!

I'm American but my boyfriend is Lithuanian. I thought it would be a good idea to learn some of the language before I visit him even though a lot of people speak English there
Your lessons are wonderful! You're doing a great job! Could you please tell me if this sentence sounds right in Lithuanian "Nuvertini mano galią"? It is like addressing to "you" (second person, singular). Is it okay in terms of grammar?

Lithuanian language is one of the most hardest languages in the world, because it has alot of things that not everyone can learn so easily. Aš esu Lietuvis, ir tuo didžiuojuosi. Jei jūs esate iš Lietuvos, žinokite, kad jūs esate išskirtiniai. Jūs mokate labai sunkią kalbą! :DDD
It is the typical indo - European language with genders, gramatical cases and several tenses. Polish, Slovenian, German ,Russian Latvian , Albanian, Greek, Serbian, Icelandic etc share the same features. Such a thing “one of the most difficult languages in the world” is not true. There are many languages , morphologically different, that can as challenging or even more than Lithuanian.
Can someone please tell me how to say, "Can I take you out to dinner?" in Lithuanian? A guide to how the words are pronounced would be really helpful, too. I'd really appreciate it! 🙏🏼

I will travel to Lithuania in 2022 after the danger due to COVID-19 has passed. I will need a guided trip in case there are thieves about - which seems to be true for the entire world. Thanks for your Lithuanian Lessons, as I hope to be able to speak about B1 Lithuanian by the time I go there. For that I will probably need more than just your lessons, but a complete course in Lithuanian as well. Labai ačiū. Kalbėsiu lietuvių kalba. [ = Thank you very much. I will speak Lithuanian Language ] I am Hindu - also studied Hindi and Sinhalese Languages - but whether or not I will reincarnate in Lithuania is a question yet to be answered, but it will probably be on July 29, 2261 --- and the climate will have warmed dramatically by then - ie: Fossil Fuel driven Global Warming. Fortunately we will be off fossil fuels by then and using Z.P.E. or Cold Fusion energy sources. Hopefully they will still be speaking Lithuanian by then, but if not I am not sure what other Languages would be spoken. I do speak and read about A2 Russian. I did not yet see any homeless people camping on the street or in the parks in Lithuania as there are here in Victoria, B.C., Canada --- unfortunately!
@@LithuaniaForYou Three YEARS LATER: Hopefully they will materialize. I started with Lithuanian: my book: "Basic Phrases and Comparitive Linguistics of Sixty Languages" For safety I do need a tour group: the problem: "Ali Baba and the forty thieves".
You have a gentle, encouraging way of teaching. Thank you. One question, a Lithuanian friend said another way to say "Hi" to your friends is "Icki". Not sure of the spelling but it sounds like "Ickee". Is this correct?
Thank you for the comment! Iki. You can hear the pronunciation mostly in all my videos at the end of the lesson. And the meaning is not 'hi' but 'see you', literally 'until'.
Wow, I've never knew there is such similarity in these two languages. There is nothing new that Lithuanian language's origin is Proto Indo European language group and is closely related to Sanskrit which is believed has been a main language of all Indian subcontinent. So since Lithuanian and Arabic languages both are one of the oldest spoken languages in the world, I believe there are much more word in common.
There's a lot of similarity with Russian, by the way I'm just here to try to impress my Russian friend and also to learn because I'm planning to visit her, she speaks English and Lithuanian a little bit of Russian, I speak English French and Russian so I have lots of experience, and I'm from Africa. Thanks for the lessons I'll keep on watching now By the way you are really helpful because I can't find any app that gives Lithuanian lessons or on chrome, Google has the translation but it doesn't pronounce Lithuanian words

Thank you so much for your comment and encouragement! I really appreciate that. I hope other lessons will help you as well. Geras medis - good tree, medis ismasculine, so we use geras, gera knyga - good book, knyga is feminine, so we have to use gera. Does it make sense?

Could you please tell me if this sentence sounds right in Lithuanian "Nuvertini mano galią"? It is like addressing to "you" (second person, singular).
Is it okay in terms of grammar?
Thank you! And yes, the sentence is perfect.

Love from karnataka 🇮🇳 i am very much interested in learning lithuanian 😍
Thank you! I am glad you do love learning Lithuanian :)
did you know that the lithuanian language is older than the greek language
I knew it :) Do you speak Greek?
No😟
Alex 48 are u speaking about sanskrit? Did u know it matches more with Latvian then Lithuanian? But we are neighbors,so LV and LT have similarities to...

Thanks, very interesting plans :)

Oh, your comment was sent 5 years ago! And I missed it. Thank you very much!
I love learning new languages. The one thing that strikes me about Lithuanian is the Russian influence, such as in the word for book.
Labai ačiū! 🙌

Labas in Tunisian arabic means : I'm fine, or "no problem".
I love Lithuanian ♥
Wow! So interesting.
@@LithuaniaForYou taip also means yes or "fine" in general arabic
@@Tun360 Really?!!!
@@LithuaniaForYou yes! Which is really exciting for me while trying to learn Lithuanian!
I think there's more of these examples, I can't wait to see 😊
Wow, I've never knew there is such similarity in these two languages.
Thanks for the lessons I'll keep on watching now
By the way you are really helpful because I can't find any app that gives Lithuanian lessons or on chrome, Google has the translation but it doesn't pronounce Lithuanian words
