Very informative, videos such as this shud be encouraged. Keep it up. In your view, how long do you think is enough to learn the language to be able to relate well? It may not be very fluent but at least enough to move around.
Thank you so much Adedoyin. The time frame is dependent on the individual. So i would say how willing is the learner will determine when they will speak well.

Stressing is a bit off, but then I've been told that it's one of the more complicated things in the Lithuanian language. Sveiki for example or "sveiki̇̀" in a dictionary has this little thing on top of the last "i", which refers to short stress on "i", means you should stress that sound and make it shorter. A word ãčiū, another example. A has this wavy line in a dictionary, that indicates a long stress on "a", so you emphasize it and pronounce slightly longer. But that's advanced stuff. Even Lithuanians don't get it right all the time. Otherwise, I appreciate foreigners trying to speak Lithuanian.
Yes, we English speakers struggle with the stress place upon on many of the words. We have hards and shorts of course, but they are not shown in the written form. We just learn them in the natural process of learning the English language. So, that can be a bit challenging for us, but appreciate your comments. Every little bit helps!
My husband is Lithuanian and I’m learning the language, as someone that learned French for 4 years, it’s really not that difficult! Don’t let that get in the way!
Good video Sisi mi and I love you teaching the language as I have zeal to learn the language. For one to love a place you will have to like everything about it.As Language is everything in a new place and culture.
Ačiū, Kindness!🤗I am a Lithuanian language tutor for foreigners and I stream your video as a perfect example how lively and beautiful Lithuanian may sound no mather which part of the world you come from. Much love from Kaunas 💛💚❤ However, "Kokaina" sounds more like "Cocain" 🤭If you want to ask about the price, use "Kokia kaina" or "Kiek kainuoja". Otherwise, labai gerai!
I only have one thing to point out: afternoon is not spelled Vakras(although people will most likely still understand you) the correct spelling is Vakaras with an extra "a", so just keep that in mind, since there is no word in Lithuanian such as vakras, it just doesn't exist. But I am happy to see that people are interested in teaching as well as learning the language which is really nice to see. So keep it up and one day you will be able to say: Aš moku lietuviškai(you can translate that from Lithuanian if you want).
Please please please how many times did i said please 3 times it means i do like how you are teaching us about the language even if nobody don't like it i do like it so please show us more because i will come there early next year So yeah is good keep it up Peace
Thanks for the video! I'm trying to learn this beautiful language and learn more about the country. Planning a visit in the summer of 2023 and really looking forward to it! I've not been able to find many resources for the language and the ones that I am able to find are mostly on the internet although our local library has a very basic resource. Is It proper to say "kaip tau" or "kaip sekasi" or "kaip tau sekasi?" Is it proper to say "iki" "viso gero" or "iki pasimatamyo?" Or will the Lithuanian speakers understand all of the above? Or does it depend upon the region of the country? I'm kind of getting that the locals will appreciategrammatically
Hi Jim, first of all, it is remarkable that you're trying to learn the Lithuanian language before your visit. So, all the examples you gave can be used in different occasion of same case. The difference comes in when the relationship is closer or distant. For example, Iki is very informal, you can say that to your friends and family, or 'ate'. Viso gero is used mostly in formal places or when you have working relationship, but they both say the same thing. So I think Lithuanians will be happy to interact with you, regardless of the one you pick. There are language channels now by locals, I will recommend to watch some of them too. The lessons will come in handy. But I hope my explanation helps. Wishing you a safe trip to Lithuania. I would love to hear about your experience afterwards. :)
@@KindnessAniogbo Thank you again for your video and response to my message. I thought there might be a formal/informal aspect to these words, so you have given me good clarification to my questions. I'm trying to learn 2-4 new words a day and will continue to look for additional resources that may help. I think it is really important to make an effort to learn the language when you visit a country that is foreign to you. I won't be perfect but will do the best I can. I know from research that a big part of the Lithuanian struggle for their Independence in the 20th century was to preserve the language. Language identifies the people, their culture and history. My grandparents emigrated from Lithuania to the US in 1918, so your adopted country has a special place in my heart. Sorry, if I have gotten too "woordy" in my response but thank you again and I will let you know how the trip goes. Really looking forward to it!
6:53 uhh.. this one is must be corrected: should be "Kokia kaina". No one will understand "Kok". It is root of word without ending. Without ending makes no sense and is confusing. Cheers.

@@KindnessAniogbo It is absolutely true that a non-native speaker will have an accent or will not get everything perfectly correct. We just don't have the background that they do. All languages have nuances that a non-native speaker will not get. We have many Spanish speakers here in the US that do not get everything correct in English, but we are able to understand them just fine and are well able to communicate. Just making a comment, here.
