lol just bought a pair of leather bostons. To be honest, yes, the trend opened me to them. But now I have them they’re just so comfy and feel high quality I don’t care, I’m convinced I’ll be happily wearing them frequently for the next few years.
I too was exposed to the boston through trends. I was actually looking to get them since they labeled it as like a “runner’s slipper” in one of their ads

I like this video. One thing I really love is the many different types of crossbody bags that came out at reasonable prices to store my things conveniently and not have them in my pockets, but tote bags work well too.

Cross body bags are very popular here in Buenos Aires. The rest of the trends you mentioned weren't even trends here since imports are heavily restricted :'(

I personally find it rather cringe when I see so many people apparently dressing to fit in with trends, particularly when it's not just wearing styles, but specific items too (Panda dunks comes to mind here). I actually quite like the idea of items/styles I like going out of trend because I feel I can then finally enjoy wearing/adopting them!

Crossbody bags have been in fashion here for at least 5 years now and I don’t think it’s going away cause it’s just very functional!

I think as well as trends you have to remember season's. Bostons falling off is because its winter. They'll be back in summer fits next year.

A bit late to the video. I fully agree that the clog trend has died. That said, I will continue wearing them. I struggled for years to find the perfect summer shoes, but the Bostons were perfect when I discovered them. I don't see myself not wearing them in the future

I agree with most of your opinions except cross body bags which I find are very useful to carry your phone, keys, etc if you don't want to carry a large bag or backpack to the gym.

I still wear my 550s when I want to wear something basic like an AF1 but slimmer. Like with most bandwagoners, folks that bought into a style because of hype will fade. People who actually like the style will stay.

Fashion clothes are like music: when a band becomes super mainstream and everybody is listening, the music stops being cool 😂 Because we follow trends so we can feel that we are updated and we fit with the community but we want to be unique at the same time. Amazing social study would be great with this subject. I will add chelsea boots to the list: some years ago, I saw a lot ot them on tik tok outfits. Now, it's kind of dead.

Chelsea boots are classics. They have never been out of fashion. Maybe the silhouette of the chelsea boots have changed over the years from more slim to rounded. Rounded toe chelsea boots are still in fashion and have been for the past 3 years and won't go out of style for a while especially with the wide trousers.

Great video! I do think while Bostons and clogs aren’t a trend right now, for me they’re the perfect shoe to throw on in the Spring/Summer as well as for airports etc. So I’m not sure they’ll entirely disappear, it’s just that you won’t see people wearing the Primark dupes
For Cole Buxton, the problem is that their quality has dropped off significantly from two years ago. They still have good pieces, but mass production and poor quality control has meant that they’re no better than a high street brand. It’s just very clever marketing keeping people interested

The fall off of Cole Buxton needs to be studied. Go 1-2 years back and on those tiktok street interviews it was everyone’s favourite brand, now it’s one of the most hated on brands in the fashion community.

Not sure if they’ve fallen off but they’ve been copied to oblivion. The amount of brands making luxury sportswear nowadays is insane.

I think sambas are gonna fall off a cliff come Spring/Summer. They exploded this year and now everyone and their mum is wearing them. We essentially had the AF1, Panda Dunk/550 and then the samba. Would be interesting to see what the main sneaker/shoe of next year will be.
I always find the Samba trend so weird. 99% of people would never be wearing them if it had not become a trend this year.

Sambas will go back to be the classic they are. And fortunately their fan base will be able to buy them again.

Like others have said, the Ugg is probably going to fill that void. Seen a lot of people wearing them recently!
ugg has always been there and I don't think they're similar in the designs to Croc. They have their own fan base that probably wouldn't wear uggs. Crocs is more of a blue collar brand that has dipped into collabs that cater to hype beast and trend followers but. They also are growing more and more into other things like next year. They will have that salahe croc shoe. Which may just make croc blow up even more.@@JamesLeung

Disagree slightly on the bostons, I’ve been wearing mine a couple years now and i think I’ll always stick by them. I have noticed a lot of my friends who are less focused on fashion starting to wear them more. Perhaps its the saturation thats now making them feel ‘less fashionable’ or its just become accepted as more of a staple in peoples shoe rotation that they are not looked at as specifically ‘trendy’ footwear anymore
Yes I think it’s simply that they are perceived as a dead trend because it was so oversaturated. But I’ll still be wearing mine this year!

I totally disagree about the end of birds Boston... Might be a UK thing, travelling all over the world for a living. I see them everywhere in the US and Asia especially Thailand , Japan and Taiwan. from teens to grown ups . male of female.

From my point of view everyone now has a “luxury” brand. Im not denying they might be high quality pieces but the prices are sometimes outrages. Getting a hoodie for $300 id rather spend that on a stand out pieceor a second hand designer piece. At least imo

I hate this type of videos. All they do is promoting fashion waste and consumerism. But thanks for letting me know that my expensive New Balance sneakers are out now. I will replace them immediately with the newest hype shoe.

He’s only pointing out that these brands or fashion styles are no longer trending. You’re just upset because you bought your sneakers late into the trend and now you’re left questioning why you bought them in the first place.
100% agreed, I have saved so much money from staying away from overhyped trends.
