Hi! I'm Harry Soo, a Grand Champion pitmaster from in Diamond Bar, near Los Angeles. Welcome to my vlogs, BBQ product reviews, travel & lifestyle videos, BBQ contests, classes, as well as interviews and stories.
On weekdays, I'm an IT nerd living a Dilbertesque existence in a fabric covered cubicle in downtown LA. I'm the head tour guide for a team of IT project managers who build datacenters, networks, servers, and infrastructure that helps bring tap water to 300 cities and 20 million residents in SoCal.
On weekends, I come alive as a pitmaster, competitor, and BBQ instructor. You've seen me on BBQ Pitmasters, Food Network, Chopped Grill Masters, Smoked, Cutthroat Kitchen, and local TV in California. My shtick is I've used a humble 18-inch Weber Smokey Mountain smoker to win 100+ first places and 1st place USA in the Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) awards including best chicken, brisket, and sirloin; and I've won over 30 Grand Championships. I've personally taught 250+ classes and trained 4,000+ pitmasters in small hands-on dozen student classes in the US, Sydney, Perth, London, Kuala Lumpur, Ireland, Germany, Mexico, Canada, and Hawaii.
I get many questions weekly about how to grill and barbecue. Since I started cooking professionally in 2008, I've answered thousands via email, so I decided to post my answers via video to reach a wider audience. I'll do my best to post a video on my channel periodically. I upload vlogs, BBQ product reviews, travel & lifestyle videos, BBQ contests, classes, as well as interviews and stories.

Beans is such a sweetie, glad to see he's happy and healthy.
Mr. Beans sends love and hugs!
I think if you're at home without a gas burner outside you can add charcoal briquettes inbetween the binchotan
the regular charcoal heats up the binchotan
Thanks for the tip Dylan!
Awww what a wonderful cook out - this truly captures the essence of what it means to a part of a BBQ Family! Another great video, Harry! You truly are inspiration in your ability to bring people together! 🔥💗
Thanks my most favorite twin Canadian pitmasters! Hope you are staying warm and let's do another collab soon, and in person, if possible! I'm working on my vegan portfolio!
10:30 thats very impressive, 950F, considering even kishu binchotan gets 1100 F.
WOW! Thanks for sharing these men are an inspiration to do what you love while making people happy! So wholesome they need to visit Granbury or ft worth Tx.
Will do! Am in Houston cooking the HSLR this weekend
Awesome skewers
Thanks!

Hi Mr. Beans. 😊
Mr. Beans sends love and hugs to you Victor!
@@SlapYoDaddyBBQ Thanks Mr. Beans. 😊
Harry!! You've been such an awesome inspiration for me, a fellow BBQ enthusiast! Where'd you purchase that Binchotan? I can't find it where I live. Thanks for yet another awesome vid.
Goto Jealous Devil website to find a store near your zip code 👍
Hiiii Harry. 😊
Hello 😊
I saw boom available to buy on Amazon last week. Believe from Jealous Devil Amazon store
I love the Boom. Works great!
@@SlapYoDaddyBBQ awesome! The only reason I didn’t buy was because I had just bought the Sun Joe battery powered charcoal lighter. It was $73 at target online.
Onyx is difficult to find. Any good alternatives out there?
I recommend Jealous Devil lump as it works very well also for yakitori grilling
Where do they source there ingredients or this type of cooking???
Japanese grocery stores
How can I reuse onyx charcoal after cook?
Yes I do. Works just as good as new
Are these any good compared to the real thing from Japan?
I don't think our US chicken meat and our junior tare sauce (less than a week old) can match the yakitori I ate in Japan using their bred-for-yakitori chicken breeds and 25-year old tare from a restaurant that's been around 100 years!
Homeboy cutting the zucchini made me nervous
Just have to be careful!
What kind of dog is that?
Mr. Beans is a Maltese Chihuahua Pomeranian mix!
You should collaborate with @Yakitoriguy
Sure, do you know him? Hook us up!
@@SlapYoDaddyBBQ I don't know him personally. I'm just a follower of his youtube channel. I'm pretty sure he is in the L.A. area. He makes great content and is all about sharing his Yakitori love.
