    This video is a bit different from my usual content, but I wanted to give you an uncut look at the entire color analysis process, showing it fabric by fabric. I know not everyone has access to this kind of test, so I wanted to share it in full! The more I learn about color theory, the more curious I become about how it applies to makeup. That’s why I’ve decided to create a separate video with my makeup recommendations, which I’m really excited to share with you all. Stay tuned, and thank you so much for watching

    I did my analysis with Ari around 6 months ago and I would totally recommend her to everyone I know. She has very perceptive eyes for color effect on one’s skin. When I first got my analysis, I was quite doubtful when she recommended more saturated summer colors as my second best especially since I typically don’t wear these colors. But after experimenting with these colors more in my makeup and clothing choices per her suggestion, I realized she was totally right. The analysis has helped me tremendously and saved me a ton of money, and it’s totally worth it for me.

    • @pearinsomnia9188
      @pearinsomnia9188 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      If your skin is *genuinely* olive, it’s always cool toned (olive skin happens due to blue undertones with yellow overtones at all depths).
      However, people with warm skin can perceive it as greenish, especially when it’s light/fair. That isn’t olive, and is definitely indicative of a warm season.

  • @bellydancefae
    @bellydancefae 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    My problem with yellow=warm is that all humans have yellow pigments to their skin, even cool toned skin.
    The vast number of color systems we see people using ignore fairer olives and struggle with deep skin tones. They were developed on people with light-medium skin, so anyone outside of that is likely to have inaccurate results.
    I think color analysis has its place in teaching people how to view color through a critical lens, but its important to not feel boxed in by "the rules" as they are completely subjective. I recommend people check out color theory done by artists, photographers, and scientists rather than by people whose training is only in makeup and/or a single system.

    This is like the first time I really see the subtleties. I can't see it every time but it's definitely more nuanced than the ones I've seen in articles when people talk about celebrity hair colours.

    I have neutral tone (light-medium)
    It's a bit difficult for me to find the right color shade, or the outfit color that suit best on me. because if I choose cool it will be too pink on my face, and if I choose warm it will be too yellowish. what should I do? 😭

  • @ruraledition
    @ruraledition 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    I have similar coloured skin. Olive. It’s been so difficult to match colours into it such that I always thought myself to be neutral. Until one day, I decided that warm colours suited me best, particularly oranges and yellows and reds in terracotta clays. But in truth, there weren’t that many colours that dominated over her face. Even the cool whites did not dominate. She still wears the cool colour. They do not wear her. They only made her look washed out. But they did not detract. So she is neutral really, in my opinion. Peaches and oranges and mango and tropical colours for her. Even the tropical green. And that is the problem with tropical colours. That they do not fall within a summer, autumn, winter and spring range. She is what I would typically call fresh fruity with a splash of tropical green. There should be a colour palette called tropical, for what cool bright deep blues can be added into the mix. It’s very hard categorising someone with our skin colour, into either summer, fall, winter or spring. She is tropical/Mediterranean. The seasons blur into each other and are undefined in such climates. Therefore she is neutral with some colours suiting her more. These colour consultations are very useful. Thank you.

    • @_Ag-
      @_Ag- หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tropical colors do fall into seasonal breakdowns without difficulties. This is a confusing comment.

    Would you consider doubg a series of colour analysis friendly make-up tutorials for the different seasons? I would love tips for soft/muted summer tones - especially your advice on what lip shades and other products would work best .
    I've recently discovered that I'm a soft/muted summer, though I always thought I was a soft/muted autumn, and now I'm trying to adjust my makeup routine. I have retired my warm, highly pigmented shades (like MAC's Future Flame palette) and tried some greys/greens and they looked too harsh. I've only just tried Rom&ND Dusty Fog Garden this week, and it worked beautifully, i think that its a good palette for my tone-I even received some compliments!

    Hi Haley! Thanks for this video. I have a request if you haven't already done this and I'm struggling to find it on your videos lol. I have an odd skin type. I'm usually oily but I think my skin's getting dry from the skincare that I use (I also use retinol so sometimes when I apply sunscreen, my skin flakes). Can you provide a makeup tutorial for the dry-skin girlies out there? I'd be happy to learn from you! I want to cover up my pores like you do but even when I do use a brush to dab my concealer, my skin still flakes. Thank you!

    • @_Ag-
      @_Ag- หลายเดือนก่อน

      Look into healing and restoring your skin’s moisture barrier. It’s a good approach because dry-oily is a skin subtype that suggests extremely dry skin with a damaged moisture barrier where your skin has oil-breakthrough because it’s trying to protect over-stripped skin. Once you heal it, you won’t have dry or oily skin anymore. ☺️

    Hmmm I think the cool colours were better. Yes they give you some shadowing but the goal is not to be without shadows. They actually give your face definition. I thought your complexion looked much cleaner, brighter and sharper with the cool colours. You were more in focus, your hair and eyes popped. With the warm colours your face got an unhealthy yellow cast and you blended in with the colour and became more invisible. Since brighter colours were so much nicer you are a winter or a spring. I feel like maybe bright winter (or perhaps bright spring if you prefer the warmer colours) is your actual palette. These colour are neutral cool in undertone, so not very very cool and they are bright and relatively light for the winter palette. It is just my opinion though.
