Ive been looking at this same problem a few weeks ago and came up with the same idea. There's a threaded hole in the chassis in that area that I was going to add an additional faster to the spacer plate I was going to make for my MR triton. Offroad Central fitted some Mcc recovery points to a pajero sport recently and it looked like the recovery point was flush to the chassis with the spacers under the bolt heads to use the same bolts. Still left the problem of the forward mounting point being an inch away from the front crash bar but a spacer could be added here and a new hole drilled in the crash bar. It's great that mcc is involved and we could end up with rated recovery points with this mod. It's frustrating a solution hasn't been found till now! Awesome work guys!
That's the exact issue we ran into the first time we tried to fit them. But i wasn't keen on modifying the crash bar or mounting the points in any way other than the specified way to make sure it's as safe and practical as possible.
Hey mate. Great video and thanks heaps. FYI...MCC now have a complete rated solution (including adapter plates) so that their recovery points can be fitted to an MR Triton without a bullbar. I have purchased the kit and am currently going mad trying to work out how to pop the front bumper off, so that I can install the recovery points. Do you happen to have instructions or a video on how to remove the front bumper from an MR Triton? Cheers
I don't sorry mate. I have a video of removing the bumper on the pajero sport. Should be similar. There's usually hidden bolts behind the plastic trim on the bumper in the middle lower section
I've seen a couple of posts on Facebook where they used the mcc recovery point and mounted them on an MR Triton without the front bar. I only want them for aesthetics not to use them for recovery
@@scaredyet I wouldn't advise fitting them without the plan to use them. Much like a winch you'd rather have them and not need them, than need them and not have them. If they're there they may aswell work in my eyes.
The main thing you didn't actually show in the video, or I missed it, is what the actual modified plates you had made to enable the recovery points to clamp to the chassis rails. Was that the bit you were reaming threads in to?
sorry peeps, no it isn't, it's just a plate, its actually shown at 5:33, granted not well, but was designed to mimic the roobar to allow the clamping of the chassis
@@T.A.G didn't notice. Would you be able to show the parts, explaining what each bit is please for the uneducated. Appreciate all you are doing to facilitate this happening for those of us without front bars.
Great effort and great video. If these become legal, are tested and make MCC I will definitely but them. Question though, I have Boo’s Bash Plate fitted, would like to know if you think it might be a problem as you had to modify the standard BP. Thanks again guys!!
Excellent work mate! I have the black edition nudge bar connecting to the same area. Do you think this won't fit together with the black edition nudge bar?
Good day, A message has appeared on the dashboard of my 2018 Paj sport GLS. It reads " keyless system service required" I don't know how to clear it, I tried battery disconnecting and no luck, check the owners manual and no luck either. I called mitzi dealer and book it, but do you have any idea what the issue might be? Thanks mate.
Not sure sorry mate. You'll need a scan tool to clear it. Sometimes a generic obd2 can clear the codes but it may be a mitsi only code which requires a proper scan tool that are usually over 1k

Have a chat to mick at offroad daily :)

@@paulmicallef3837 hey mate, how are you?there is any chance you can give me some advice about does recovery points? Cheers

@@mcc4x4accessories did you end up using the design of plate that I sent you the plans for? Noone on your team gor back to me
Can these be mounted on the MR Triton without your mount
Not sure mate
I'm not willing to bet either as they're advertised to fit a pajero sport without a bar but they don't

Yea looking for mr ... standard bar will be using well hopefully not haha
I’m still a little unclear what additional items are required and what they do to enable them to be mounted.
The plates that I made that mimic a bar are what's needed.
They enable the complete assembly to clamp the chassis

@@peterrschuck I can put a post in the facebook page mate. Still waiting to hear from MCC regarding this also. Hopefully I'll hear back by this week

Good effort boys. Hopefully the computations make them a viable solution..
Impressed . . . and it's shaping up to be a good outcome. 👍
Tha k's mate. Hopefully MCC come to the party
I tried to look for the recovery points on MCC site and couldn’t find it... any links?

I think boos will be fine but if not an angle grinder will fix it quick
If you have aftermarket bash plates, I'm guessing there might be some adjustments required.
What are they rated to?
I think after market bash plates will clear. If not. Nothing a grinder can't fix.
Not sure on the total rating. But trying to find out
Excellent work mate! I have the black edition nudge bar connecting to the same area. Do you think this won't fit together with the black edition nudge bar?
I believe its not compatible with a nudge
Will the front recovery point offered for the MQ Triton for the MR triton as well?
You'd have to check with the supplier sorry mate
