      Totally agree. I actually just leave my Triton in 4H permanently, such a good feature with a ute, especially unladen when you suddenly have to put your foot down in traffic.

    Spot on! ...just lift foot of excelerator when changing from 2H to 4H and back to 2H.
    From experience on the dunes...always switch off the ASC and for the automatics to rather use the tiptronic function than auto mode.

      We have the Pajero Sport on 4h continuously. We used 2wd mode initially in the city and on highway but found the car feeling slightly skittish. Especially in the wet. So much so, I lost confidence in 2wd. The car is just too heavy and high, and hardly any difference in fuel consumption. Anyway 4h is nothing more then say Subaru's AWD.

    Great video! Quick question I have a 2018 Pajero NX & only just realised reading card under visor & watching videos that switching from 4HLc to 4LLc & back should be done in N. Haven't done much 4WD - but may have done that a couple of times in either D or P with the car stopped - could that have caused some damage? Doing some experimenting now you can actually clearly hear it lock in & out of 4LLc & the 4L light comes on in the dish - that's normal right - you should be able to hear it? All seems to be working well but just thought I would ask. Thanks. Laurence 😃

    Hi, just purchased and have started to watch your back catalogue. I’m in the UK and the car is sold as a Shogun Sport. I’ve noticed the online and paper manual is incorrect regarding the cabin fuse position. I’ve had this confirmed by my local dealer, who was unaware of the issue. Is the manual correct in Oz? For example fuse 6 actually for the cigarette lighter and both accessory sockets. While the manual states fuse 2. Loving your content great for owners.

    If you were buying a Shogun (Pajero) Sport second hand, any way to tell if previous owners may have not been so careful with selecting the correct modes etc and that they've not caused any damage? I guess no way to test properly if a test drive area near the dealer has no "loose stuff" to test the 4HLc/4LLc?

      100% take air out of your tyres. That is the biggest factor for sand driving, start at 15psi and drop if needed. Not only does it reduce stress on your vehicle but saves the tracks for others

I sometimes find myself unsure where and when is best to use the diff locker rather than the terrain modes. eg. Drive a hill climb in superselect. Then drive the same hill with diff locker. Which is better?

    • @T.A.G

    So, if i have a Mitsubishi with Super Select, and let's say, in a city, where we all know that are asphalt streets, and someone come to me and say " hey, my bus just broke down, can you help me to get it out off the road ?", and to pull 40t, you need a lot of torque, so you need 4Llc gear, you can do it? Or you can break the transfer box? Supe Select is that sensible? Other cars without centre diff lock system can go 4L any time on any suface without any damage to the car. Is something that i don't understand about Super Select?

    • @T.A.G
      @T.A.G  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look. You could use 4l as long as your stay dead straight and don't turn. However you could still damage the driveline. If it came to a larger vehicle I'd suggest calling a proper recovery vehicle or tow truck to assist. That being said if you pulled with 4l on tarmac you could bind the transmission up with wheel slip. And become bound to the point you'd need to jack the vehicle up to avoid more damage etc
      In short. Yes but I would advise against it.

    • @T.A.G
      @T.A.G  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Other vehicles can't go 4l on any surface as they don't have the centre diff. And you can't use 4l on superselect without it locking the centre diff
