These three in this scene absolutely steal the show, it just hurts that the rest of the film is such a mess... I much prefer the 25th Anniversary version, especially since Samantha Barks absolutely kills it as Eponine in that version and Alfie Boe is an infinitely better Valjean than Hugh Jackman
@@jbvader721 I know... I especially feel his pain and anger at that abominable Cats film. The good news is that Hooper won't be making another adaptation of a musical for a good long time, so we don't have to worry about him butchering Pirates of Penzance or anything like that

Honestly, I’m happier with Samantha, her voice, her face, her acting, I think she played the part much better than Taylor would have; I think that Taylor is truly talented despite my opinion.
I love Taylor Swift so much but she's not a musical theatre actress. It wouldn't have worked especially for a role as demanding as Eponine. The person playing the role would inevitably get compared to Lea Salonga and only Samantha kind of gets close to that level.

Tell me who you are.
Marius: My name is Marius Pontmercy
Cosette: And I'm Cosette.
Marius: Cosette, I do not know what to say.
Cosette: Say nothing then.
Marius: My heart trembles.
Cosette: As does mine.
Marius: A heart full of joy.
Both: In the span of this night.
Marius: O flower in the garden of paradise!
Cosette, Cosette!
Cosette: Are you the prince I waited for?
Marius: Is this a dream?
Cosette: Who can say?
Both: A heart full of love
Eponine: No, those words are not for me.
Marius & Cosette: A heart full of you.
Eponine: I won't regret what cannot be
Marius: I was hoping
Eponine: These are words he would never say,
Not to me, not to me.
Cosette: So was I.
Eponine: Not to me, not for me.
Marius & Cosette: This is a sweet dream.
Not a dream
You and I
Eponine: His heart full of joy
Would never beat for me
Not for me.
Nothing is worse than being in love with someone who will never love you
The only part of the movie (besides on my own) that the actors NAILED! Why can't the rest of the musical be this good!
2:48 best part of the movie
I’m sorry, were you asleep for I dreamed a dream?
@@HfallbabyF Um... im sorry... you thought that was good?
@@katesszz Yes I thought it was great, not as angelic but raw and painful
@@samcarroll6210 Im sorry you are not supposed to cry when you sing. Also I'm watching a musical movie adaptation I want to hear the songs and I want to hear them sung right
@@katesszz Crying while singing is bad yeah but it turned out great imo for the tone they were going for, and these are actors not professional singers so I like to give them leeway
Cosette's/ Amanda's voice is beautiful
It's perfect. :)
I love that I literally looked up “les mis trio of perfection” and this came up.
Samantha Barks is always amazing ♥️ such a shame Eponine wasn't featured more
She's even better in the 25th Anniversary stage version... She absolutely steals the show in this film
I remember that I act as Eponine during my high school days at our school, and this song literally hit me (coz that time I felt like I'm also in that kind situation haha)
Amanda Seyfried's wicked fast vibrato throws me for a loop every time I watch this. I really wish Tom Hooper hadn't been so method and sadistic making this film, Eddie sounds so much better standing still than he does dancing around. (And don't get me started about poor Hugh Jackman shredding his voice for no reason, that's a different scene)
This movie and Cats stands as hard evidence that Tom Hooper should never direct another musical ever again.
@@jbvader721 if you haven't seen them, watch Sideways' videos on both films!
@@wilsonjonah Seen them both. Poor Sideways.
@@jbvader721 I know... I especially feel his pain and anger at that abominable Cats film. The good news is that Hooper won't be making another adaptation of a musical for a good long time, so we don't have to worry about him butchering Pirates of Penzance or anything like that
this scene never fails to make me sob
Everyone was talking about Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, and Russel Crowe. And yet, THIS TRIO!! These are the ones people should have been gushing over! Why didn't Samantha Barks become a huge star after this?? I love her in the movie so much!!
Amanda can really sing. But when i hear this i imagine her signing straight into a fan
AHAHAHAHAHA ITS TRUE THO. her vibrato is wacky.
I actually love her vibrato
@@emmyslichta9053no it's not. It's perfect. Fact, not opinion
@@BlairBart-gu7fn it's actually not, it's suggestive of bad technique. Overly fast vibrato is usually due to poor breath support and/or tension. And THAT'S a fact, not opinion.
@lakme Ah ah. Silence. My word is law. What I say is fact, not opinion. No one else gets say. Not another word. It IS and that's final. The last word is mine.
"I'm a mouse, duh."
"If you're from africa? why are you white?"
"On wednesdays we wear pink!"

Cat Valentine so THATS why she looked farmiliar! i will never watch Mean Girls the same way again...
This comment deserves more likes😂🤣
oH MY GOD I DIDN'T NOTICE y e s
"Gavroche, if you're from Paris, why do you have a cockney accent?"
"OH MY GOD COSETTE YOU CAN'T JUST ASK PEOPLE WHY THEY HAVE COCKNEY ACCENTS-"
@@amazingspiderlad I thought I was the only one who heard his accent 💀
I really loved Eddie for this role damn
Remember kids: we nearly got Taylor swift for Eponine instead of Samantha Barks 😳
She didn't get the role because she looked more like a Cossette than an Eponine
@@fionadotpng and because have you heard Samantha Barks sing? She was amazing. I heard they even asked her to tone it down to not over shadow the others. Not sure if it's true though
Honestly, I’m happier with Samantha, her voice, her face, her acting, I think she played the part much better than Taylor would have; I think that Taylor is truly talented despite my opinion.
Briya Rose oh gosh!
I love Taylor Swift so much but she's not a musical theatre actress. It wouldn't have worked especially for a role as demanding as Eponine. The person playing the role would inevitably get compared to Lea Salonga and only Samantha kind of gets close to that level.
Amanda Seyfried’s singing voice is so wonderful.
“Do you like my love song?”
“Oh Marius it’s wonderful!”
“Great it’s for Cosette”
"A heart full of love"
"I don't even know your name"
Do I have to say anything else?
it would've been so funny if jean valjean started singing it too in the end when he's at the gate
Amanda Seyfried has quite a voice range. She can sing at a high pitch and speak with a low pitch to play Elizabeth Holmes. 😉
Yes, Amanda nailed this!
These three are the only ones that sang well this whole movie
I dont care what anyone says. Team Cosette for Marius all the way. And Amanda Seyfried is the best Cosette. She is exactly how I imagine her in the book
