6:36 that was a slide in the kiddie area right next to splash landing i went to that place in march of 2022 and i found that slide intact it since has been scrapped
That Sea World entrance you showed is really pretty actually. I totally think they should keep it in memory of the old park and remodel it into a picnic pavilion that people can rent out for parties
While on the Sea World side... it's the newer entrance built I believe when that side became the main park after the closure of the Amusement side, they enlarged the entrance to become the main entrance to the park. The original Sea World entrance had a more squared off front, that once had the logo in the middle.
@@bluescreen3914NO, that was ALWAYS the Main Entrance to Sea World. It became the Main Entrance to Wildwater Kingdom after Geauga Lake Park was closed. There used to be a gift shop, and restrooms to the left of the Sea World Main Gate. I worked at Geauga Lake and we would get people coming to our park, looking for a restroom outside of our Main Gate which we never had. Got a LOT of complaints from parents with kids who had to use the bathroom before Geauga Lake was open!!
Im also trying to remember back decades. I never went through that gate after Sea World closed down. I just remember the shimmery sequin like logo over the gate as a kid. I never worked at either park, but my brother did work at Sea World for 5 years. But growing up, I could hear the seals and sea lions from my bedroom window if the wind was right.@@timothykaczmarek5871
1978 was my first year of visiting *Geauga Lake* when I was 13. It became a yearly tradition, replacing *Conneaut Lake Park.* I believe those stone footers were from the _Serial Thriller_ which was my favorite of the steel coasters.
But they're not fixing up anything. They're building cookie cutter houses there for YET ANOTHER RICH PEOPLES housing development, which is EXACTLY what Aurora needs. Screw that city and shame on them for not putting up any fight with Cedar Fair to keep Geauga Lake Park open. They have more old blood in city government with 'huge ideas' yet lost an iconic place to MORE retail and cookie cutter housing developments. What a crime!
@@nearandfarexplorers5125 When the park closed and the infrastructure was being dismantled, one of the statements made coming from corporate Cedar Fair was to ensure the property and land would never be used or suitable for any type of future amusement park. Why? Because they in the big picture of corporate greed wanted everyone to flock to Cedar Point. Kinda backfired too, as now Kings Island is surpassing Cedar Point in so many areas, that it is so great that Cedar Point is actually getting beat up by it's own sister park in Mason! 14:36 !
The booth in the Sea World parking lot was a parking admission booth for preferred parking to Sea World, then Wildwater Kingdom.

My childhood too. I grew up right there in Reminderville, on one of the 'state' streets.
WooHoo! Erie PA got a shout out! I remember that sign well.
Are you able to walk to the gate without going past trespassing signs?
The houses are now finished not all but some😕
Your Traspassing on Private property!
Oops!
What you place
Nope grocery stoe & homes
What they're turing the old park into now, is a lot better then what cedar fair had left the park in the first place. I guess
This makes me so nostalgic knowing there fixing this up
Me too. Miss this park.
