The fact part of this film is set in England, and a certain thing involving the post credits almost feels like a stealth tribute to the Fleetway comic.
I don't think it's the DUMBEST movie I've seen, but I do think this movie has some moments that are so dumb that they're absurdly hilarious. Example (mild spoiler): when Sonic and the team are at the Chao Garden Cafe in the beginning, the scene is playing out as expected, all the stuff from the trailer, and then the G.U.N. general just pulls up a seat like, "Thank you for agreeing to meet with me like this, Sonic." Thinking about that is so funny to me. Especially the accompanying scene with the general, how quick that happened, it felt like a Family Guy bit being played super seriously.
Yeah, like I said at the start, it's the dumbest film I've seen in a long time at the very least. Maybe calling it the dumbest film I've ever seen is unfair, but I just wasn't prepared for some of the stuff that happens in it lmao. Oh god yeah, that bit was kinda awkward, I feel like maybe they cut something there? Just felt really sudden.
this film made me cry... i cried that my man johnny lightfoot still didn't make the cut... trully a missed opportunity to bring back such an essential character... where will this franchise be with out him
Alright, the thumbnail is amazing. Now that's peak. I haven't watch the movie yet, gonna wait for 2 days... but still hyped to check it out, in the meantime The Wild Robot have became my favorite movie this year, but let's see if this movie is gonna hook me too.
Haha thank you, appreciate it! Hope you enjoy the movie, it'll be well worth the wait! I haven't been able to watch Wild Robot yet but will definitely check it out sometime! :)
Haha, just saying how I feel! It’s 100% a-ok to admit that something I like is goofy and stupid, after all, it’s a film about cartoon animals saving the world lol
This movie isnt dumb my guy, sure there are momenta where its dumb with jokes but this movie handels a dark story so mature with shadow and maria, tbf i know its your opinion but look at the other parts of this film wther its character who act human and its stuning visuals and it amazing music and again its darker tone, hope yall can agree with me on this and if you dont comment your thoughts!
The movie does handle its mature aspects very well, I agree, but I’m sorry, it’s also a very stupid film haha. And that’s ok! It’s about cartoon animals saving the world from two scientists played by the same person and another cartoon animal, of course there’s gonna be some goofy shit lol. The campy and silly aspects aren’t even bad, I really like them, but it is there and shouldn’t be ignored :)
I love how you say the movie was so dumb in the most endearing way possible and love the movie… like me with my cat. Dumbest cat ever . Love that fucking ball of floof.
It’s of a Sonic mascot costume that was used for promotions and events in the UK and Europe during the early 90’s. Not sure where the specific picture featured in my avatar was taken though!
Everything in Sonic Movie 3 just blows the past two out of the water. All of the characters get so many good moments, and I was really surprised with how much Tails had with how much he was sidelined for Movie 2.Shadow was definitely the best part of this movie and that montage with him bonding with Maria was just the best and Keanu Reeves did a pretty good job voicing Shadow even if he was no Chris Pratt. The action scenes are so freakin crazy and off the wall that you just have to see them on the big screen,I did feel that the pacing was a bit off and the beginning was a little slow, the scene where Ivo and Gerald Robotnik meet kind of dragged too long. They even improved on the jokes and music, which were two major problems from the last two movies, don't want to spoil anything one moment I found really funny was when Sonic was in a dark room and his reaction feels so unfitting and yet kind of in-character for Game Sonic actually. While not up to what i'd want, there were neat little sprinkles of game music in the score that activated the happy neurons in my brain so that was cool. I do agree that this film does get kind of dumb sometimes, but the most insane moments in Sonic are the most memorable ones,it sometimes reminded me with the insanity of Sponge Out Of Water which was also made by Paramount.(Imagine if they decided to be funny and have Bubbles The Dolphin from that movie into the Sonic movies before Rouge, the fanbase would be so pissed but it would be hilarious.😂😂😂😂😂) Overall wonderful movie, hope to watch it again someday, maybe in the theaters and Krysten Ritter's character should've been Rouge.
@@CAMiStHwhen you said there was like epic stuff but it was interrupted by a lame joke by Eggman what was the scene again? I just watched the movie like 30 mins ago.
1:09 SPOILERS Are you referring to the awesome Live and Learn transformation being cut off by Gerald…spanking Ivo? Because yeah. I felt the same way. I think they should’ve stopped doing jokes with Gerald specifically immediately after the “You’re no Maria” line.
Yes, exactly that part. I couldn’t agree more, I really thought that the movie was gonna keep jokes or any bizarre shit to a minimum but it almost seemed to double down haha.
@@CAMiStH For most of the film, I was actually pretty okay with it because I saw it as Gerald’s manipulation. Convincing Ivo to fall in line by acting more like him. And the reveal of his actual plan and the honestly amazing “You’re no Maria” line felt like when he was gonna lock in but instead it felt like he kinda got even worse, even going out with a zany joke.
@@CAMiStH Honestly I think one simple change to his final scene could make him so much better. Regardless of how I feel about the scene, you could still do the whole bugzapper joke but instead of him getting disintegrated, he falls down to the floor clearly incredibly hurt. With his last words, he simply exclaims that he doesn’t care in the slightest. He’s already won. The cannon will fire and the world will pay. The man clearly broken from his pain, dies laying on the floor, just like Maria did. You think that would work better?
I agree with most of what you said. While I love Jim Carrey, a lot of the humor didn't land for me. That said, what matters is if the kids enjoyed it What matters is the movie got the emotional side right (including the Robotniks), it took the story and its themes 100% seriously I was shocked by Keanu's Shadow. The whole main cast was great but he especially stood out
Absolutely! The kids are the target audience and their entertainment is honestly the most important thing first and foremost. Oh yeah, the emotional aspects and Shadow's story arc were handled perfectly I thought, just wish we could see more of him and Maria.
I didn't really like the movie that much Each of the films is hard to run harder to follow and there was just multiple times were apparently it just wasn't real and just a flashback or something
That’s totally fair, these movies aren’t for everyone and the structure/pacing can be odd. Hopefully there were at least some parts you liked that made the ticket price worth it for you :)

Yep lmao.

Haha, your cat sounds like the best! Yeah, the movie was dumb but I really did love it, really good fun! :)
I like the thumbnail
Thank you, appreciate it! Was a bit of a pain to photoshop the mascot’s face and match the hue up with Movie Sonic haha.

Agree with a lot of your points here - this movie was great if a bit silly and campy at times haha. Glad you had a blast watching the film! :)

Good thing I didn’t think it was bullshit then and just a lil too silly haha
Wheres is the flintstones viva rock vegas prototype for the dreamcast??
I’ve been wondering that myself. I desperately NEED it.

Absolutely! I think the continued jokiness of Gerald stopped this from possibly being the best adaptation of the character outside of the games.
